"Hey… what are you doing here?" She asked me as if I was some kind of crazy guy, along with an expression saying 'disgusting' to me.
The door was only slightly opened. Obviously, she doesn't want people to see her wearing a nightgown.
"I know, this is my room…"
I got it. We were the last 2 to come to school, so we— no. It doesn't make sense at all. I know about this type of situation, it only happens in anime and mangas.
"Huh? No way. This is the girls zone."
Girls zone? I never heard something like this. Is the dorm divided for boys and girls? This is pretty weird, now that I think about it, I only see girls near here.
I was still there, sitting on the floor.
"Whatever, get out! I don't even know you." As she said it, the door was closed.
Ouch! 'I don't even know you', she said! Perhaps it is the painful truth, I'm not even her friend.
"Phew" I let out a sigh.
What should I do now? I asked myself. Maybe ask someone, that wouldn't be a problem. I don't know anyone here yet, so it doesn't sound like a bad idea, make new friends. I can get to know what happened in today's class, too.
I got up from the well cleaned floor and started walking around the school, with no defined destination.
For real, why does everybody here seem to be a spoiled rich kid? I can agree that pretty much everyone here is rich, but they are all assholes.
Minutes ago I approached a group of people, two guys and one girl that were of my year. So I started a conversation, since they weren't really talking.
"Yo, are you guys from first year?"
They didn't respond to me, as if I asked something weird. They just kept staring at me, when one of them said something.
"Yes." The nearer guy said in a low voice, on the purpose of making me not hear.
"Hm, can you repeat? I didn't hear."
"Yes, we are. What about you, what year are you in? I didn't see you at the entrance ceremony." The other guy said.
"I'm the same as you. I skipped the ceremony since I arrived late."
Now they all had a scared face that doesn't make any sense. All weirdos.
Few seconds later the girl asked me "Which is your family?" in a trembling voice.
"Excuse me? I think I didn't hear it correctly, can you repeat?"
Again, a dead silence.
"She asked you what your family name is." One of the guys said in an intimidating and assertive tone of voice.
What a weird question. This must be some of the formalities that rich people do, I guess.
"If you really wanna know, my family's name is Smith. What about it?"
They looked relieved now, letting out a low gasp.
"Oh, this is great. Sorry for being rude, we thought you were a commoner. You weren't even in the entrance ceremony." The girl said.
Hmm. She can have said this seriously.
"Hahaha, good joke you have here." I said with my hand on my hair while forcing a slight laugh.
"Sorry but, why would this be a joke?" She questioned me.
"Oh, no. Sorry for this. I need to go, see you all later."
I hurried and left them.
It can't be. I must be dreaming right? She said something so… disgraceful. That girl must have been reading too many fantasy books recently, this is the only explanation I can think of. From now on I should try to avoid them.
After I distanced myself from them I continued walking.
Just searching for someone to talk to while I walk, it happened for me to see a boy of my age crying in an empty corner around one of the buildings.
I walked towards him, he was still there, lying on the cold cement floor in a fetal position, with his arms blocking his face.
"Uhh, hey, you okay?" I asked him, worried.
"Why do you care? It isn't your problem." He retorted.
"Yes, I don't really care. Anyways, can you answer me something?" I asked him, looking angry.
"Huh?" He looked at me with a surprised face, his long black hair was covering a little bit of his blue eyes.
"You already asked" Few seconds later without my reaction he mumbled "Then ask".
"What is your name?"
"Why don't you ask something more useful?"
"Ok, then can you explain to me what a 'girls zone' is?"
He started laughing.
"Dude… don't tell me you went there?" He said, laughing even more.
"Yes, it seems like my room is there."
"Pfft hahaha, good joke. Even if it was real this would be a disaster."
"Why?" I asked without understanding.
"You know, all girls here are bitc***. They only want a boy with money and a big johnson. This world is so cruel! Their requirements are too out of reach!" He screamed the last part. Thank you lord that nobody is near to hear this.
"I know brother! I can understand how you feel." I said, nodding non-stop and smiling.
"You know, right! Most of the boys want a ho**, we just want someone to hug us in our worst moments." He said and continued crying, heavier than before.
What does this guy have? One second ago he was literally laughing. Whatever, I will just continue in the flow.
"The reality is hard to accept, huh. But I don't think everyone is like this, you know, you and me for example, and I'm pretty sure there are a lot of great girls out there." I gave him my opinion.
"Yes… you may be right about this."
He stopped crying and got up.
"What is your name again?" Washing away the tears, he asked me.
"I'm Kade Smith, nice to meet you." I reached out to shake hands. Just to make a test, I said my full name to him.
He got paralized for a second after I said my name to him. He looked at me and then at my hand.
Making a slight smile, he shook my hand back and apologized.
"Really? Nice to meet you too. Sorry for being rude to you. My name is Craig Junior." He said his name to me.
"Me too, sorry for intruding on your moment." I apologized awkwardly while he was cleaning his glasses with his shirt.
"No, no. It's really okay dude, I'm better now, thank you."
"Hey, remember what I said earlier? About my room." I asked him.
"Yes, I do. You said your room is on the girls' side of the dorm."
"This. Come with me I will show you." We started going to the dorms.
"We are friends now bro, don't need to lie to me. By the way, if it is true then I will pay any ordered meal for you." He said half joking.
"Bet." I finalized the dialog.
On the way there, I couldn't help but be suspicious that my family name had something to do with this school, or the students here. They all had the same weird reaction when I said my name to them. Maybe I'm famous for some reason? Probably not.
We reached the dorm and started walking to my room number.
I noticed now but we are receiving odd looks, some people in the hallways were even talking while looking at us.
"Bro, you don't need to prove anything to me, let's just get out of here, people will think we are perverts or something dirty." He seemed uncomfortable with others glancing at him.
"Didn't you say that people are all trash? Why do you care about them?" I asked him, really confused. Does he have bipolar disorder? I will ask him later.
"I di— Ok. I technically said, but not like that." He spoke low so the others wouldn't hear.
We reached the door and I stopped walking.
"It is this room. Try to pull the handle, I have the key." I said to him calmly while taking the room key out of my pocket.
He looked terrified.
"Man, seriously, the joke has gone too far now. Let's head back somewhere, but not here. Perhaps you just confunded your room number and we already passed the door, right?" He said with trembling hands on my shoulder.
"Uh? No. I'm pretty sure this my room, the principal herself gave the key to me and said the room number."
"The principal? Oh sure, the principal gave you the key herself. Now I remembered that I had something, no, I have a date to go with my girlfriend right now, you know? So I have to leave you for now, bye." He hurried and left me by the long hallways.
"I don't know, you didn't even tell me that you had a girlfriend. And who in this world can forget about having a date? He sure doesn't have a good head." I said to myself.
"Anyways, I have to look at the schedule first, I even forget to ask him about the entrance ceremony."
With the key already in my hands, I unlocked the door.
