Chapter 13: Stone Town and Subordinates

Soon, arriving near the city gate, I soon was greeted by my Parents and four Knights who were each on there horse, all giving me an impatient glare.

While there were many civilians gathered here too, to give there goodwill to me.

"Brat! What took you so long!! Quickly get over here!" shouted Alex, while my mother gave him an death glare, as he muted his mouth right away.

"We greet the Commander!"

"We have been given the order by Margrave Vanelland to escort you to your military post, please take your ride as soon as possible, we are getting late." greeted the Knights, while there was a hint of impatient in there sincere tone.

"Oh!, Sure, I will do that right away and... I apologize for my late coming." I replied politely, while soon a guard brought an horse for me to mount.

"Then, Lord and Lady Auguste.. We bid our farewell."

"Bye Bye Mom, Dad... I will see you soon." I said, while climbing up my mount.

"Son!! make the Auguste proud!"

"Please dear, Take care of your health and always eat food at time, be sure to change your undies ah! also don't forget to bath! and 'line goes on in on in on'." my mother began blabbering, as I couldn't help but scratch my head awkwardly, while my father soon stopped her blabber.

"Honey, Alard is already grown up." said Alex, while my mother harshly opposed his claim.

"Mom! I have grown up, you don't have to worry too much."

"Also ....anyway, Mom, Dad, I will be going now, Please take care of yourself when I am gone." telling so, I began to move on with the knight escorts.

As, many voice sounded from gate, wishing me luck.

After riding the horses for a day or two from my home, I was lead to a military checkpost.

Where soon, I was officially given the rank of an Legion commander and a military medal to represent my rank.

While soon I could feel many respectful, scornful and envious glare targeted at me.

As, It was a fact, I was an genius being a 3rd-tier Caster at the age of 10, that the human nation's have never seen or heard off before.

But it also can't be denied, that I was given a position of Legion commander because of the connection, and the Emperor favouring me.

Hell!! Even if an heir to a Duchy were to join the military, at the most he could get the rank of an Battalion commander.

(A/N: for those that may not know... Battalion commander controls an 1,000 men army, while an Legion commander commands an 6,000 men army, 6 battalion commander under him.)

Ignoring all the gazes from small fries, I walked outside the checkpost, as the knight escorts send by Margrave Vanelland quickly attended me with a carriage.

"We pay respect to Legion commander!" with a military salute, they greeted.

"Commander, We have prepared this carriage tor your travel."

"Why the carriage? Isn't it quicker by the horses?" I questioned, as staying inside carriages wasn't my style.

"Commander if I may, We have a 10 days road from here to your post, It is much more recommended to use carriage then horse!"

"No! We are using horse and you people are following it! Just take it as a training." I said, as I really didn't want to use a carriage, my two reason being.. first I can't handle being locked inside a moving box for 10 days, second I love horse riding.

Feeling the cold breeze of the wind, with the beautiful view of the landscape of this medivel world.

"Yes sir! We will do as you command." replied the knight, as he left to take the mount for us to ride.

While, soon me with other 4 knight left the checkpoint to my given post.

Quickly the days passed by, as in a span of 11 days, we reached the Stone Town.

Stone Town, as name suggested was a town of stones.

You can see every houses or building here were made up of stones, while there were many stone statue decorating the road of the town, while stone bunkers were also presented here.

While, the main reason of Empire placing an Legion Commander here, was because it was the closest town to the southwest border of Empire.

Also, Stone Town was the closest town to Katze Plains!

Surrounded by a permanent foggy atmosphere, the Katze Plains were once a large open plain inhabited by people, but eventually, it became a battleground where the armies of the Re-Estize Kingdom and Baharuth Empire are known to be clashing.

Now it is nothing more than a large empty plain surrounded by a permanent fog that blankets the whole area. The Katze Plains consists of a few old buildings scattered around and in the ruin which were caused by the numerous past fights between these two nations scarring it in the process.

At the same time, a notable feature of Katze Plain is that due to many amount of casualties sustained by both sides every season in their seasonal war, the place has become a hot spot for undead creatures to spawn.

The appearance rate of undead creatures here was estimated as high. This ranges from Zombies to skeleton warriors and even Skeletal Dragons. The Skeleton Dragon, in particular, is formed from the bony remains from hundreds of people, a body that is contaminated by the essence of death.

'It will be annoying, if a Skeleton Dragon were to arrive during our battle with Kingdom.' I thought, as it has never happened in the Overlord series, but who knew? afterall I am the butterfly of this world.

"Halt! State your identity!" a loud shout interrupted, quickly making me realize we have already arrived at the Town, while there were two soldier wearing Pelt armor, standing at the entry gate of the Town.

"I am a Knight under Margrave Vanelland! Kabu, And this one over here is the Legion Commander, Sir Alard!" stated the leader of the four Knights escorting me, as he showed his knight badge, whole I did the same, showing my badge.

"Oh! So-Sorry for my ignorance sir! Please enter the town, We have been awaiting of your arrival!" stated the guard while, we soon got of our mount and began to walk in the city, while I could vaguely hear the two guard gossiping.

"Heh~ So he is that Hero of West, He doesn't look that special."

"Shh! Low down your voice idiot! even if he isn't special, He is still a noble! We can't offend them, what if he hears you!"

"Cheh, They are already that far away, what are they? rabbits to hear this far? ... anyway, why don't we go to Mina brothel this time, I heard they have new girl there, hehehe."

"*blush* Yeah sure."

Inside the Mayor Hall, I was sitting in my Commander sit, while I looked over the 6 people infront of me with a military salute, as one step behind them, was the mayor on his knee.

"Hello, Nice meeting you guys, I am Alard von Auguste, I will be Legion Commander of this side of Empire, hope we get along." I said alittle innocent yet in a little strict at the same time.

"Of course of we know the Legion commander, We have heard you killed an Ogre Sorcerer at a very young age."

"My name is Raiger Lesgo."

"The commander can call me Rezoro ne Kun, I will be serving under you."

"Froza Vanelland, Commander I have been given the position of Battalion commander under you."

"David Walker, I will be under your order, Sir!"

"M'lo.. rd, I am Hina, I will be u-under your command."

"I am Aho! the future Great General of the Empire!"

As, a introduced themselves, I checked all of them one bye one.

Raiger, he is a 40 year old man, with a 7 foot tall height, bulky build with his army-cut black hair, he seems to be a 'old man' type person, while his eye was something I was familiar with, a eye that have been through alot of suffering.

Rezoro eon Kun, as his name was alittle weird, but still ignoring it.. he was 6'4 foot tall, while he was a man at his 30's, with lean muscular body, and curly green hair, he was a type of person one could describe 'as a idiot who can give his life for his Empire', while his idiot smiley face made me want to broke his teeth in and out.

Froza Vanelland, hearing her surname ...I knew she has some relation with Margrave Vanelland.

She is a beautiful girl at age if 25 year old, with a height of 5'9 foot, while her starry eyes met my eyes, her ocean-blue hair matching my eyes, as her body was a little toned with muscles, making many doubt if she was an noble lady or a warrior.

David Walker, a 34 year old man, with a height of 6'3 foot, he had toned body, with his shoulder reaching black hair giving him a certain amount of charm, while he was a man who tends to be on the quieter side.

Hina, hearing her name, One could know she was an commoner, she was 28 year old, while her straight brown hair gave her a charm of her own, as she was wearing an nervous expression, probably because of her peasant mindset.

While on the other hand, this guy named Aho, also being a peasant, there was zero to any hint of nervousness flashing in his face, I had to admit, he was alittle noble looking man, with a height of 6'3 foot, toned body with broad shoulders, as his spiky dirty-blond hair were unusual.

"It's pleasure to meet you all, I hope we all survive this War." I said, while looking at the six subordinates of mine.
