Issue #6

The weekend went by fast so Monday soon approached. In the morning when all of the other Hellions were heading out the door to get to their class, Jack was in the basement working out. His focus was on trying to upgrade his [Pistol Mastery] and [Unarmed CQC] skills.

Jack had learned over the weekend that he could upgrade his skills by training them or combining them with his powers or abilities. His [Stealth] skill automatically upgraded to Expert rank when used in conjunction with his [Camouflage] ability.

After training for 4 hours straight, Jack came out of the basement with a frustrated look on his face. Neither of his skills got rank-ups.

'I guess it's stupid for me to think I can get them to the next rank so easily. Most people spend months years if not decades to get that good. Guess I better ask Daredevil if Bulleye is fair game to kill.'

Jack imagined gaining Bulleye's skill in marksmanship and could not help but let his fantasies go wild. Just that skill alone would make him confident in taking on any of the rogue members of the Inner Circle.

Jack changed into a fresh set of blue clothes before heading out of the dorm and making his way to the canteen. Unlucky, or lucky, for him, the rest of the classes were being released for lunch soon. By the time he made it to the canteen, the lunch bell had just rung so the other students were on their way.

That day, the first floor had Italian food, the second floor had Japanese, and the third was filled with Russian food. Thinking that he had never had Russian before, Jack went to the third floor directly.

He was amazed by the variety of dishes that were available. Since this would be the first thing he ate, Jack grabbed 5 dishes before sitting at a table. Sitting in front of him were 5 skewers of shashlik, a bowl of kasha, a plate of syrniki covered in honey, a bowl of borscht, and lastly was a large slice of Russian royal cake. Not wanting to wait, Jack immediately began to dig into his food.

When Jack had just finished his kasha, he felt a shadow approach him from the side. Jack looked up and saw it was a beautiful blonde girl that had deep, brown eyes and a figure that most would be jealous of.

"Is this seat taken?" the girl asked with a Russian accent

"Nope. But I have to warn you about it being dangerous for your reputation to sit next to me," Jack said in a short explanation before returning back to his food. He wanted to dig into his syrniki.

Seeing that he was not interested in talking to her and even given her a warning, the girl smiled before sitting down and eating her own lunch in silence. Although the pair ate in silence, the others on the same floor were not as quiet as them.

"Is someone eating the Prince?"

"Apparently so. Looks like she doesn't care about her own reputation."

"She might be playing it smart. By kissing up to him, she may just get her own room in the Excellence Dorm."

"No one should be that desperate, right?"

"Who cares about that? That girl is hot. She should sit with someone else instead of the stupid Prince."

Many made comments about the blonde girl and Jack but most were focused on insulting Jack. Although many had realized most of the rumors about how Jack got his position was stupid, the one that stuck was him being related to Emma. That along with his carefree attitude and disregard for the normal rules that other students followed, Jach had been given two nicknames.

The first was Jack Frost while the other was Prince. The first was the saddest and probably least likely known of folklore spirits while the second was to mock him due to being related to the Queen. Either way, both hinted at his relationship with the Ice Queen, Emma Frost.

But it seemed like the girl eating with Jack did not care about these rumors. And in truth, she didn't. The blonde enjoyed the aura that Jack gave off. The quiet due to not having anyone else sit around them was a bonus as well.

'I can't believe mother sent me here. I would rather be out there helping father and brother.'

The blonde finished her food and decided to look at Jack who was eating. Even though he was eating shashlik, a skewer food that meant it could never be eaten while maintaining one's image, Jack was somehow able to seem a bit graceful with how he ate it.

Noticing she was watching him, Jack reluctantly put down his food. He didn't mind company while eating but if a person was just staring at him so close while he was eating, even his thick skin could not stand it.

"Um... I'm Jack. Nice to meet you," Jack stretched out his hand in greeting after cleaning it off with a napkin

"Nice to meet you too. But I have already heard of you. Your reputation proceeds you," the blonde smiled back and shook his hand

"What made you want to join me for lunch?"

The girl's eyes narrowed a bit as she thought about how to best explain her answer

"You seemed interesting when I first saw you at orientation. So I thought I would check out if you were so interesting up close."

"Oh?" Jack asked with a playful smile. "And how did I measure up?"

"You were even better than I imagined," she replied honestly before standing up with her bag

"It was nice to meet you, Jack. Maybe we can eat lunch again next time."

The blonde began to walk away which captured Jack's attention even more. His eyes flew toward a certain body part.

'Hmm. Beautiful, sexy, and mysterious. She didn't even tell me her name. She is also super dangerous. I better check her out. Just so I don't get caught off guard.'

Jack finished the rest of his skewers before he ate his cake. Once he was finished, he also went towards the exit of the canteen to get started on his afternoon training.

(Guess the girl, get another chapter tonight)
