Issue #5

Over the next few weeks, Jack's routine was pretty much the same as before, with the exception of getting to know his daughter and her (secret) lover. When he was not training the problem children of the Institute, Jack made sure to continue his research on various targets as well as increase his knowledge on mutant genetics.

Jack was actually sitting in his office with his laptop in front of him studying his own DNA but even with all the knowledge that he gained from Mr. Sinister, he could not understand any part of genetic structure.

'This is completely insane. I guess I really can't alter my own DNA. I can see a small amount of my original DNA mixed in there but the rest of this is nothing more than a mess that makes no scientific sense.'

Jack got tired of looking at himself on a microscopic scale so he shut down his laptop and rubbed his eyes.

The fact that he could understand others better than he could understand himself was starting to weigh on Jack's mind, among other things.

And all those things were making him frustrated.

"Get out of here, you damn Alabamian bastard! I'm talking to you, Jack Frost!"

Luckily for him, someone was calling his name.

'Good. I was wondering how long it would take this bastard to show up after he built his army. 3 months since I got to really kick someone's ass.'

Jack phased through the wall and saw his newest prey floating in the backyard on the institute with over 500 Frost Giants all around him.

Many of the X-Men and students of the institute were already outside and ready to battle.

Seeing this large gathering, Jack couldn't help but laugh out loud.

"Good work, Qilip! You brought an army for me to slay!" Jack congratulated his clone wholeheartedly. The clone had brought him a small army of Frost Giants that he could choose skill and powers from.

Seeing Jack look so smug and happy instead of afraid filled Qilip with anger.

"You fool! I have brought an army that has battled against gods for thousands of years. I have made the king of the Frost Giants kneel before me. I have taken his strongest magic as my own. And you still think you can walk out of this battle unscathed? What are if not a fool?" Qilip questioned

"That's an easy one," Jack replied, "I'm your maker and your killer."

Jack taunted Qilip as if he was worthless to him. And it was completely true.

Jack only saw Qilip as an NPC from a videogame. And by killing that NPC, he would get a powerful item that would help him complete the main quest.

"My Lord. I believe that we should begin the assault. There is no point in conversing with someone that we are about to slay," a large Frost Giant with a necklace of fangs on him

Qilip lowered himself and floated next to the giant's face before smacking him. The Frost Giant was sent flying back 20 meters before he crashed into the ground.

"Speak only when spoken to, Laufey. It would be best if you remember this lesson," Qilip warned the former king of the Frost Giants

Laufey glared at the ground silently before standing up and taking his place in front of the other Frost Giants once again. He did not speak out again this time.

Nodding, Qilip turned his attention from back to Jack but the man wasn't even paying attention to them. Instead, he was looking down at Stella that was standing on the front lines with the other X-Men.

"Jack!" Qilip yelled in frustration

Jack turned his attention to Qilip but he looked at him as if he was looking at a random person on the street.

'Tsk. He is so freaking loud,' Jack thought to himself before snapping his fingers

And with a single snap, Qilip instantly began to crumble away into dust. In front of everyone, he died without being able to fight back.

'My power. My army. My armory. Was it all for nothing?' were the last thoughts that Qilip had before he died. All that remained of him was a small, gold casket that dropped to the ground after he died.

The army of Frost Giants and X-Men looked at the scene in confusion and horror before turning their attention back to Jack. Each of them was puzzled and afraid.

"Don't look at me like that," Jack said in exasperation "I could just do that to him since he is a clone I created. I can't do that for everyone."

Hearing the explanation, there was still a large amount of confusion but much less fear. The X-Men were used to clones in terms of Mr. Sinister while the Frost Giants were used to clones being created from illusions.

While all of them were thinking about Jack's ability to create clones, Jack was looking through the memories of Qilip.

'So he went there, immediately pissed off Thor, fled to Jotunheim, and then beat all the Frost Giants since he was immune to the cold, unlike the Asgardians.'

Jack summed up the clone's 3-4 months of life in a single sentence. If Qilip knew this, he would vomit blood from his life being so worthless in front of Jack's eyes.

Jack held up his hand and pointed it at the small casket that Qilip dropped before using [Pocket Theft] to summon it into his hands.

'[Frost Giant Magic], [Allspeak], and this Casket of Ancient Winters are all that he brought me. The first two a very lackluster but this third more than makes up for his mistake. With this, my ranking of being an Omega-Level Cryomancer will be confirmed.'

Jack opened several portals around his body before firing the ruin beams at the small army of Frost Giants. Without being able to resist, they were all wiped out in moments. Laufey and his Giants could only regret following Qilip back to Earth.

"Jack! What are you doing?!" Scott yelled at the frost spirit but he was ignored.

Xavier nodded toward Jack who responded back with a nod. The latter then flew back inside of the mansion while going over the new ability he just got.
