The portrait was somehow able to convince Harry to not destroy the diadem, the portrait is pretty sure that there is a way to destroy the Horcruxes without destroying priceless magical treasures.

Harry also thinks that the method described by the portrait has a decent enough chance of actually working, and what's the harm in trying? If this doesn't work he can just destroy them right after, at least this way he tried to preserve the Founders legacies.

Since it was decided they would try the portrait's approach first Harry puts the floating Gaunt ring and the diadem into a sealed box, he summoned the ring because the portrait wanted to study it as the ring is the keystone to the entire plan.

Harry used a sealed box to store two Horcruxes because he knows the effects of these things when they sense danger and try to protect their vessels, he is not sure if these things can affect an artificial consciousness in a painting but it is better to be safe.

While the portrait has a general understanding of how this method would work but it will still take months to figure out all the specifics. Meanwhile, Harry also has to gather a few things to make this plan work and one of which is the sword of Gryffindor, while he could just summon the Elder wand to him it will not be easy for him to steal the sorting hat from Dumbledore's office, especially now since the headmaster would certainly improve the security of his office after the elder wand incident.

Now is not the time to worry about such things the portrait still has to figure things out, Harry can just gather the rest of things and focus on his training, he finally has his wand back so there is nothing stopping him from relearning his entire spell arsenal now.

Harry left the portrait to its own things and made his way back to the Room of Requirements, sensing his needs the room changed into a mostly empty chamber with a few spell test dummies.

Even now Harry is still amazed whenever he enters this room, this chamber is an ingenious mixture of space manipulation, mind magic and life-like illusions that is touched by magic. This room can summon everything that is available in the entire castle or at least a perfect copy of it and the rest is supplied by perfect illusions.

For example, if a person wants to read a book, depending on the book the room will either summon the real book or make a copy of it for the person to read. On the other hand, if a person wants the room to become a sunny beach the room won't really change itself but will put up a perfect illusion that will make the person feel like they are on a beach.

Such a room can only exist in Hogwarts because the castle is made on the only known convergence point of three major magic keylines, the three largest streams of pure magic meet here and provide the castle with enough magic that it can maintain all of its functions, power the strongest wards in the world and still have enough left that such chambers like Room of Requirements can still work.

Such a constant stream of magic and magic users passing through the castle for thousand years has led to it achieving some form of sentience, and that is a good thing because without the castle itself looking over the room of requirements someone can use this chamber to cause all kinds of trouble.

That's why the room only shows itself to the students who really need it. If the castle doesn't deem you worthy of the room you will only see the chamber of hidden things and never be able to access the rest of its abilities.

Technically a person can use this room to summon things from Headmaster's office or the restricted sections but the castle will never allow you to do that.

Seeing the dummies in front of him reminded Harry of his days in the DA, he took out his holly wand and started with the first duelling spell he ever learned, the disarming spell.

Harry moved his wand and pointed it at the dummy in front of him, the spell which he was able to cast almost instantly took an entire second to form and then a red light shot of out his wand and hit the dummy right in the chest.

His spells which used to take effect instantly now he is so slow and unskilled that he can actually see the spell flying through the air.

The red spell collided with the dummy but instead of disarming the dummy, it tore a hole right through it, after a moment the spell finally took effect but it ripped out the entire right torso of the dummy along with its wand arm.

Seeing this sight Harry closed his eyes and took a big breath, this is a lot worse than he predicted. His spell work barely met the minimum standards and he overshot his magical power by miles, he could have killed someone trying to disarm them.

The effects of only using wandless magic for years suddenly became very apparent to Harry, his ability to gauge the power of his spell is completely off, he also forgot how much of a boost using a wand provides to a wizard's spells.

Harry wandlessly repaired the dummy before once again trying the disarming spell, this time he only ripped out the dummy's arm along with the wand.

Harry has a long way to go before he can once again perfectly cast spells with his wands.
