Chapter 37 Train

Harry leaned against the window taking in the sights as the train finally started moving, Rose is sitting beside Harry with her back against him completely into her charms book, while Charlie is sitting in the opposite seat making paper birds fly across the entire compartment with his wand.

It seems both of them got over their excitement with a long train ride ahead of them. Harry decided to take a nap but was interrupted by their compartment door suddenly opening.

At the entrance is a surprised Ron Weasley. "Sorry! I thought it was empty. I will find another compartment." He quickly said before trying to leave.

Charlie fixed his glasses before getting up and stopped the ginger boy from leaving. "Of course you thought it was empty, these two are the most boring people anyone can meet, I wouldn't even sit with them if I was not related to these dorks" he said while pointing at Rose and Harry.

Ron looks uncertain while Harry and Rose didn't even react as they were used to their brother's antics.

"I am Charlie Potter, the bookworm is my sister Rose and the tall one is Harry." His brother introduced them to the ginger.

Ron looked at the three of them for a moment before he spoke "I am Ron Weasley"

Charlie was adamant for Ron to join them so the ginger is sitting with them inside their compartment, Harry continued to look out the window while in just a few minutes his brother and Ron started talking like they have been close friends for years. It was bound to happen since they both are at that age where friendship just forms naturally.

Harry isn't going to interfere because the Ron he knew is already gone and nothing can bring his friend back. He knew the price he had to pay to come back so there is no use thinking about such things now.

Harry was broken out of his musings by Charlie calling out to him. Then he notices that the trolley witch in front of their door.

All three of them are provided with a reasonable amount of gold every month as pocket money but Charlie always spends most of it by the first week buying snacks and supplies for his pranks. So Charlie always comes to Harry when he needs the coin because Rose won't lend Charlie even a single Knut and she will tell on him on top of that.

Since this is the first time that Charlie is out of the view of their strict mother and grandmother Harry tossed his entire gold pouch to his brother. There is a little more than 100 galleons in that pouch that should be more than enough for his brother for a while.

Seeing the gold Charlie did what every eleven-year-old boy would do when provided with lots of money, he brought at least one of everything from the cart. Pretty soon their seats were covered with candy and empty wrappers.

As they were all eating Harry noticed a rat coming out of Ron's sweater, seeing the fat brown rat almost made Harry's blood boil.

Just like in the previous timeline Peter is officially dead, supposedly the wizard died in a death eater attack on his apartment that ended in a huge explosion and only a finger remained of his parent's old friend.

Harry calmed himself down and didn't react to make sure that the rat remains oblivious that he knows who the rat really is. The only thing that kept Harry from giving that rat a slow painful death is that fact this time his parents survived and thrived while the rat had to cower in fear and live off crumbs for all this time. The rat can keep living this pathetic life for a while before Harry eventually gives him the sweet release of death.

Harry silently spent the rest of the ride just looking out the window before Hermione barged inside their compartment with Neville right behind her searching for his toad. Before anyone could say anything Harry casually took out his wand and just like that Neville's toad came flying inside their compartment and landed in Harry's hand.

"Thanks, Harry" Neville quickly said as he took his toad back while Ron and Hermione are both shocked by the sudden display of magic.

The silence in the compartment only lasted for a moment before Hermione began " That was non-verbal magic!! That is supposed to be very advanced magic, are you in your sixth year or seventh? Because I read that only in the sixth year that professors start teaching non-verbal magic. Since you cast that spell so easily you must be in the seventh year, I know I am right, how else can would this be possible?"

Harry got up as the bushy-haired girl got on a roll and causally left the compartment while announcing "I am not going to deal with this, make sure she remembers to breathe in between all of the talking" leaving the rest to take care of the Hermione situation.

Daphne Greengrass Pov:

Daphne was having such a great day, she is finally on her way to Hogwarts. Daphne and her friend Tarcey were having such an exciting and fun time but when they were returning from the washroom to their compartment, they unfortunately ran into Draco and his two goons.

The blond prick completely ruined their mood by insulting Tracey right at the start for being a half-blood and then went on about how Daphne should not waste her time with such inferior people and should only be in the company of people with proper standing.

Daphne was about to tell Draco where to shove his unsolicited advice but then she saw a boy with the brightest green eyes towering behind Draco and his miniature mountain trolls.
