It has been a few weeks since you started working with Jinx's "Delivery Team." It was Grangers but he was not the one calling the shots or shooting them.

"Please" A man choked, sputtering and clutching at his neck. Then clawing at his throat, drooling while the red veins in his eyes popped. You were just grateful that you all wore the gas masks. Jinx did as well and she looked at the dying man with a hint of curiosity, like she might help him or dismember him. She looked back at you. Looking for a reaction but you gave one she smiled again.

"Always dull and never cranky." She had begun to say to you over the last month of working together, and she would often hum and chase you around, hoping for a reaction of some kind. Perhaps hoping for the impassive tolerance the rest of the team showed her. But you were becoming an expert in anti-jinx plans and natural neutrality. This meant that she was normally committing harmless pranks or committing war crimes before looking your way, and always with a playful smile.

The flirting was new though.

She would often walk up to you now and graze your arm as you passed, wink at her when you walked past or just outright call you "baby?" in the most innocent voice she could.

Everyone else just pretended to look away, after that one guy who giggled was hit across the face with a frying pan. It's a shame though, you actually really enjoyed his strawberry tarts. You had pretty much taken over the cooking, everyone disapproved but Jinx seemed to love your burnt eggs and unspiced chicken.

You still did a lot of the hard work though. Like standing in a cloud of gas and defending a basement full of drugs. Jinx did more of the work and was often more of a danger than the other attackers. In fact, you had adopted a duck first, think later reaction when Jinx lifted anything with gunpowder, which was also all she attacked with.

It was at dinner that night while you struggled to forget the drool that slobbered from the dying man's mouth that Jinx found you again. She stuck a fork in the chicken and smiled. "You know, I think your chicken is the best chicken, it doesn't caw though, say do you think that a rooster and a chicken taste the same?"

"No a rooster has more sinew, so it would be more chewy."

"Oh yeah of course, great."

She sat down next to you twiddling her thumbs, and looked around the room.

"So.... How did you learn to cook?"

"I didn't really, they just handed me the frying pan."

"Oh haha, that's funny. Say, do you want to go somewhere?"

"Where?"

"I don't know somewhere else... with me?"

Jinx didn't usually ask questions like that. Her questions were always rhetorical with defined answers the likes of 'Do you want to get blown up?'

So a moment of silence which lingered, while she waited for you to respond, it seemed almost romantic. She did not speak to you every day, or you weren't a co-worker.

You nodded in agreement and she jumped up with a hand motion "Yay! I promise it won't be boring!" Which made you feel uneasy, immediately.
