Domino effect on that journey

Elija's confusion grew. She had just felt riding a domino effect on that journey.

Max's car drove safely, and calmly, according to traffic signs. Max is an essential rider. If there are many things to think about, how to drive is much more careful because Max does not like to be caught in situations that make things worse.

"Is there some kind of strata here?"

"Humans usually make strata," Max said without looking.

"Okay okay, what about your version? Help me to understand, Max," Elijah's voice sounds confused.

"What do hunters mean to the underground? She's a threat, an opponent, or a friend?"

Max seemed to be thinking while Elijah was in a state of impatience to know.

"I hope you go to Kalaseba soon to be able to know everything or meet a human who can explain it with tables, diagrams, and food chain pyramids."

"You're kidding?"

"Well, I'm trying to joke."

"You know it's not funny, I'm serious right now! How serious is it to be a hunter among underground creatures?"

"Humm... For example, or maybe a dramatized replica? It was on the Demon Slayer. The Japanese anime. Have you ever watched it?"

"You mean my mother hunted down the demon that turned humans into demons?"

Max nodded.

"Less is more so."

"But what if the human being is willing, there is no compulsion?"

"Then it will be an exception."

Elijah then struggled with her thoughts.

"In demon Slayer, the main case is there is a human blood-eating demon so these demons are hunted by the Demon Slayer. Because the mutated man becomes bloodthirsty and takes many victims. If in this world there is a demon turning a human into a demon, the danger is the same?"

Max nodded.

Elijah scratched her left cheek with the index finger of her left hand. Not only the cheeks that itch, the itching because of the strangeness reaches the neck. She noticed Max and the bustle of vehicles on the road in turn. For her, the imbalance of the universe was none of her mother's business. Why should my mother be there? She felt strange when her mother might be an idealist.

"I think there's something strange here, aren't we born out of the relationship between the two?"

"Right."

"Why aren't we considered a threat?"

Elijah feels Max's glance as a notification of our existence like illegitimate children among humans. She was then stunned.

"Since when?"

"Since when do people call someone an illegitimate child?"

"It is not known since when, but it relates to a belief, in religion, it is also mentioned so. Maybe since there is a religion?"

"I don't know, either, because I didn't study religion."

"The point is that such a belief has been a very long time," Elijah said. After saying something with a blurring preference, she was silent again. A moment later she said, "My mother is the guardian of the balance of the universe then?"

She saw Max's ears move.

"Tell me more about this hunter."

"I know you have a lot of questions. Put it this way, we start the game, mention the creatures you know, I'll answer yes or no if they're just essays."

"Okay!"

She began to remember the names of creatures she had heard of.

"Werewolf?"

"Yes"

"Vampire?"

"Yes"

"Dragon?"

"Yes"

"Why do I feel like you're playing with me?"

Max laughed.

"Max comes on, you have to give me knowledge of that world," said Elijah in frustration.

"I'll tell you later, now that we've reached our destination."

Elijah looked to the right and the left. When Max swerved his car into a yard, Elijah was gobsmacked to see the place they were visiting.

"Boutique Sunshine... You said we went to the Sunshine Shop."

Elijah saw a three-story building with an exterior design that was very pleasing to the eye. The architect must have been very experienced in building art, this was not only a building for the fashion business, but from the outside, it also looked like an art gallery.

"It used to be just a shop, but Sunshine was able to grow a lot."

Max explained while turning off the car engine. After a while quite content looking at boutique sunshine's exterior design, Elijah followed Max who opened the back door picking up their carrier bag. Max warns her to bring the parcel that was entrusted to her. She nodded and carried the thing carefully.

From the parking lot, Elijah followed Max walking towards the lobby through a walkway on which on the right and left sides of the golden fish pond. Elijah had a quick look. She had seen two very sweet fairy statues in the middle of the pond. The same fairy sighting was also seen hovering at the entrance of the Sunshine Shop. Both of them are alive and welcoming them in.

The entrance could sense the movement of the human feet, so it shifted open lightly without sound. Elijah entered with a flowery heart when she saw the unusually antique interior of the lobby. The size is small but illustrates the breadth of the experience of the interior architect. A receptionist greeted them kindly. Afterward, she heard the officer wearing the name tag Tari, saying, "Please go to door number two on the left," to Max.

Max thanked then headed to the door mentioned by Tari. Elijah thanked her and followed Max.

"Is she a pure human being?"

Max nodded.

Then, Elijah saw the door Max was pushing looked ordinary. The pattern is the same as the doors of boutiques in general. It looks elegant, giving customers a feeling of pleasure in lasting luxury.

When crossing the door leaves, Elijah did not expect to set foot on a path escorted by blue rose plants. Some of it was in bloom. The deeper it goes in, the more types of flowers and ornamental plants it sees. Elijah also saw a statue that poured water with a volume like raindrops from a jug into a circle-shaped pool with a diameter of no more than one meter. Elijah was also amazed by the sunlight that could enter the garden. The light seemed to be specially arranged. It makes Elijah feel bewitched. At the end of the walkway, there is a glass door with a white wooden, looking sweet, and stunning although simple.

Elijah stood behind Max who was pushing the door. Elijah was again fascinated by a new world. The door connects it to a room measuring no more than 7 x 7 meters.

"This is the Sunshine Store at first," Max said. "We're waiting for her here."

"Did she know we were coming?"

"Tari told her."

"Oh."

Elijah then feels silly because she thinks Sunshine can sense people who will come to her far in advance.

All because of those silly movies, now my mind is somersaulting, Elijah inwardly.

Not wanting to feel any worse, Elijah just kept quiet, looking through the contents of the store. Elijah saw all the colors of the candles. There are also trinkets such as tasbih, bracelets made of beads, and shells, there are necklaces with pendants made of jade, rings, and exotic statues. All the objects there feel ordinary and the design is also easy to find among sellers of roadside accessories.

"You should try this cake."

Someone's voice made Elijah look fast. She saw Max standing relaxed while smiling at the beautiful woman in front of him.

His attitude was very different when he was with me, Elijah grumbled in her heart.

The woman had blood-red lips and no makeup. Elijah felt out of competition and at the same time fascinated by her natural beauty. The woman brought a tray containing pieces of cake and smiled beautifully when she came face to face with Max.

Elijah felt that Sunshine's appearance matched her name. Her voice was clear and warm like the sunlight shining on the garden she passed through. The unexpected thing about Sunshine is the friendliness and trays containing the pieces of cake that tempt the appetite. She thought Sunshine would show a mysterious aura with a cunning face. The witch's peculiarities in her imagination were shattered instantly when she saw Sunshine.

"This cake just finished baking, you guys came right when I was slicing it, so it still looks hot steam, well come on, sit in the back garden. You can relax more there than here." Sunshine looked around. "There's a lot of old stuff, appetite can decline," she said. Then she walked first to the area she mentioned.

Elijah looked at Max. She knows what Max's body language means to her so she holds back her curiosity about Sunshine. Don't offend her, Max said through his gaze.

Elijah understood the warning. She nodded.

The back garden is a garden that gives a relaxed air. Elijah did not imagine a pond containing turtles. She saw two turtles who were shyly sunbathing on the edge of the pool. There is also a turtle in the pool, long neck looking up.

Elijah felt she had just come face to face with both eyes of the long-necked turtle. She hurriedly turned her eyes elsewhere. Her eye contact then clashed with a variety of ornamental plants. All of them are certainly rare ornamental plants.

The flower that appealed to Elijah in the garden was the wisteria flower that was in bloom. She felt the existence of a charm that came from another realm. When looking at the ceiling, Elijah realized that the garden is a special greenhouse to grow a variety of rare flower plants. After a long time of noticing the semi-outdoor environment, she finally sat in front of Max.

"I'm going to get some tea, this cake is called a morning tinge," Sunshine said cheerfully and walked in.

Elijah and Max only stared at each other for a few seconds. Max still showed an expression unwilling to explain anything.

Elijah then noticed the texture of the cake in front of her. The color is brown-yellow with a texture that shows a root pattern, irregular, but pleasing to the eye. The appearance of the cake reminded her of a legit layer cake.

"It's legit, isn't it?"

"Sunshine likes to name her pastries by herself," Max replied as he picked up a piece and devoured it.

The way Max enjoyed the morning tinge cake made Elijah tempted. She took a piece and chewed it. She immediately realized that the taste of the cake was suitable for breakfast. She felt the feeling of opening her eyes that had felt lethargic.

Without realizing it, Elijah had already finished two pieces. The pieces of cake on the tray stayed halfway through when Sunshine appeared again.

"How does it?"

Sunshine returned with a tray containing three cups and a glass kettle filled with tea. The smell of jasmine was smelled when Sunshine poured it.

"Jasmine tea is suitable for this atmosphere."

"I didn't expect there to be this kind of atmosphere in the middle of the city."

Elijah meant to praise but Sunshine was used to such a sentence. Sunshine's reaction made her awkward.

"That's the art value of this place."

Sunshine sat down with them.

"Well spend it, I'll make another one later."

Elijah gets a signal from Max to take out the item entrusted to her. Then, she brings it out happily mixed with hopes that Sunshine can immediately make her know the truth behind her mother's death and also who her father is. She was a bit nervous when she realized Sunshine was observing her.

"I haven't seen you in a long time, so I feel guilty when I come only when I have a request," Max said as he had a cylindrical object made of agarwood in his hand.

Elijah observed them. Sunshine noticed the object Max was carrying with a graceful attitude. Elijah thought Sunshine was second-guessing what Max wanted.

"I'll consider your request, does this have anything to do with her?"

Sunshine pointed at Elijah with her finger. Sunshine's fingernails are not decorated by nails polis. Beautiful nails come with their original color. Elijah was gobsmacked by Sunshine's finger and nail-beauty.

Nervously, Elijah introduced herself, "I'm Elia."

Sunshine's expression showed many things. It crossed Elijah's mind that her whereabouts were known. Then it was felt by her that Sunshine was screening her. The attitude that she had never felt before from her interlocutor made her ask for help non-verbally to Max.

"She's Bibi's daughter," said Max.

Hearing that description, Sunshine turned her attention.

"We talked one-on-one and gave it to me," Sunshine told Max, snatching the cylindrical object from Max.

"You stay here. Free to look around," Sunshine's friendly tone turned into a stern instruction.

Then, without waiting for a reply from Elijah, Sunshine and Max had gone into the cinnamon-scented room.

"Do they have a special relationship? What was that? Max's body language was snaking that way. Ah yes, which man isn't interested in her? Sexy, clean skin, long shiny black hair and look at this, she can make this cake as good as this. I'm just addicted. Maybe the other dishes are good too."

Elijah devoured one more piece. Not wanting to get tired of waiting, she took a walk, looking around to take her mind off. Her gaze was fixed on a group of wisteria flowers. Her pink and white complexion calmed her down.

Elijah wondered why the color that usually didn't appeal to her all this time made her unable to stop looking at it. Is it because of the light that shines on it?

Elijah approached a series of wisteria flower petals. The suppleness of the stalk made the petals almost like soft curtains, making Elijah tempted to touch them. Elijah was close and almost touched it.

"Stop!"

Elijah stopped for a moment. During that confusion, upon turning her head, she saw Sunshine approaching her. Sunshine's height makes her look beautiful around colorful plants. Perhaps because of her clothes, she looked perfect, Elijah praised inwardly.

"Sorry I didn't mean to ruin it. Just curious."

Elijah's goosebumps with Sunshine's very subtle gaze at her, making her feel guilty instantly. Am I doing something very forbidden?
