Duties, Responsibilities, and Romance

Max watched Theria and Melianor chat kindly with each other while sitting back. They look very close. There was a different intimacy than Melianor gave to him. The two were very close as if there was no gap for him to be between them.

So this is roughly what is common between them every day. I can't blame Theria for being jealous, Max said silently. In Theria heart, he must claim Melianor as his.

"You want to stay here with me forever?"

Max suddenly remembered Melianor's offer several hundred years ago. Max is still wearing the typical outfit of an adventurer trying to prove himself and his strength in his time.

Max immediately put the flashback scene out of his mind. Max then approaches Melianor and Theria feeling as if they will be the worst person in the world because it appears too soon between them.

"What's the matter?"

Melianor's question made Max somewhat surprised.

"I'm just thinking about a plan that we might be able to do to find that crazy experimental research laboratory. We already know what this psychopath looks like, and what the purpose is, so I think we should destroy the laboratory," Max said out easily and kindly. Half of the anger is to cover up jealousy.

Max tried to camouflage the jealousy into a sentence that seemed to carry out the responsibility to finish off those who threatened the world.

Max manages to sit comfortably, putting jealousy aside carefully on the other hand, at the deepest part. Inwardly it is ready to leave the Melianor Mansion again.

Duty, responsibility, and love, three are like living things that do not want to unite. The task is the eldest brother who cannot be silent because he continues to try to get work done, find solutions, and create new things with the standard of no tomorrow. Whatever toil list that appears today, it must be completed today.

The second child, the responsibility, asks Max to keep in mind who he is, who he is, to improve and keep the strength to be his responsibility.

While the third child, who is quite spoiled and does not want to be abandoned, who always wants to get attention but also does not want to be too pampered, wants to be treated accordingly but must be more than duties and responsibilities.

The three are now entangled Max with a red rope. Max then can only believe that it's all his destiny.

"You already have a plan, don't you?"

Melianor spoke in the leader's typical soft tone. There was no gap as a lover to talk to Melianor in that situation.

Max put his right foot on top of the left foot. The CEO pose that is usually shown in front of business opponents, investors, and business associates is now seen in front of Melianor. Neither Melianor nor Theria were surprised, as it was common to see Max's cold expression as a leader in the material world.

"From now on I will put all my connections into really looking for it. Before I didn't respond to it seriously, now I won't be silent in the shadow world anymore," without intending to brag about his connections, Max looked dashing this time.

Theria also took his signature pose when it was serious. Theria sat upright in his chair. His legs straight with the floor, his eyeballs turned into an inverted parallelogram shape. When a human has a white color on the eyeball, it is yellow-green in Theria's eyes.

"Me too."

Melianor grinned, liking the atmosphere created between them. It's been a long time, this aura has not been felt from them.

"Then it's just a matter of waiting for information from JoyDaG so that our search area can be narrowed down. And also waiting for Elia to come out from the Ruang Hampa. Theria you created the entrance, can you feel what happened there?"

Theria focused on Melianor's request, then said, "No, this is the same as what happened to Max a long time ago, those of us outside the world are completely blocked by Magi and must not interfere."

"In that case, we can only hope that Elia will return soon, or else, we can continue the search without waiting for her," Max reacted.

Melianor secretly thought of Max's reaction to the situation Elia was facing. I thought Max would be very worried about Elia, but he seemed to believe in Elia so much that he didn't have to worry.

"What do you think of Elia facing a Ruang Hampa? How long can she go out?"

Melianor asked Max because she suspected that Max had given enough preparation for Elia to face today's situation.

Facing Melianor's question is not an easy matter but also not too difficult, it's just that the value of time is quite a stake on the answer. Max didn't expect Melianor to guess that he had already made preparations. A second later, Max realized that Melianor was not a random woman.

Why do I always forget who she is?

"Maybe a week like Theria's assessment," Max replied as calmly as possible.

Max turned to Theria, "How do you judge it?"

"No later than nine days. She will come out in a state of spiritual improvement. When I took her on a brief venture, sensing the displacement of teleportation, Elia showed no signs of fear and confusion with the changes in time and space. Elia instead showed interest, admiration, and asked the question of how to master all of it. That means Elia has been thinking about it for a long time. I suspect Elia just hid her preference all this time."

"You are right. I watched her all this time and that's what happened. The look in her eyes was not the gaze of a depressed child because she could see another world, Elia secretly fought it. Even if there is fear, it is because she does not yet know who she is. When I told her that she was half-demon, she also showed interest. It is possible that she had been feeling an unusual flow of power as a human being. Her confusion was pent up, she didn't ask me or show it to me until this moment. Probably because she doesn't fully believe me yet. There was something else that also bothered me, it felt like Elia was lying about her mother leaving her deliberately in Switzerland. There is something she hides from me."

Max's gaze returned to the moment of Elia's appearance at midnight on his doorstep. Max remembered how Elia looked at the time. There is a strong determination to take revenge alone. Elia's gaze was disturbing for Max.

"The wedge can only be answered later when she comes out of the Ruang Hampa. One more thing I felt from her, the aura of killing, although vague, but the gaze was not easy to forget," Melianor said, making everyone remember the strangeness of Elia.

"When did you feel it?"

"While she was in front of the Wisteria Flower, I watched her from a distance before I reprimanded her for not getting close to the flower. First Elia saw the flower gently, but then her gaze changed."

"Maybe Elijah was aware of the energy around the Wisteria Flower," Theria continued. "I also noticed her at that time.

"Moreover, when that happened, I could feel Gelombang giving a reaction. There is something about Elia, you believe she is half-demon?" Melianor asked Max. "Until now I still can't feel the demon aura, what about you Theria?"

"Same, it should be that when I brought her across time and space, I could at least feel her demonic aura, but nothing. Like being locked or deliberately locked."

Theria replied solemnly. His authority appeared like a king.

"Gelombang 's reaction to her stagnated when Elia fainted and after. Gelombang reacted again when Elia entered the Ruang Hampa. Now it's calm enough, but as you noticed, the chart is not the same as it was a while ago, it increases and the color is red instead of white, it means that major changes in the three worlds are happening. Forest burning and unnatural experiments can be two of the other reasons. The Black Magi Gate, the entrance and exit for underworld creatures into the human world seemed to expand. JoyDaG and her colleagues take care of this part. Ah, now I can feel JoyDaG and two of her friends are already in the courtyard of the boutique. They will come in soon."

Max secretly concludes everything they find pursuing in one situation: Gelombang are threatening to destroy the entire world if chaos is not cleared. There are only two options for them, accept the mission or reject it. If they accept the mission they must complete it to the end, if they refuse they must also accept the consequences.

Why did we never choose to be destroyed? Max thought and quietly glanced at Melianor and then turned to the Gelombang.

Max also wondered what was the reason Melianor and Theria did this? They never told me the real reason. Their story is too old for me to understand. All I know is that only one, they can't let underworld creatures take over the surface world and destroy human life.
