Spellcaster

The atmosphere in front of Merak Pier - Baka is quiet. There was no crowd of mobs forcing their way in to meet the director. There are no reporters taking pictures and recording videos. No more screams of people from family members asking for explanations from the dock management. Even all the staff who worked that day were nowhere to be seen.

"Where are they going?" said Madhu as he walked out with JoydaG.

"They became his soldiers," JoydaG said, her style of speech being in the fashion of dreaming deep into the hills.

"In that case, this makes it easier for us to find him, but also narrows our movement time, has he begun to lose his mind? how come it doesn't feel as good as it used to be," Madhu sounded to be doubting Jono's skills as his opponent.

"Still, we can't let our guard down, right?" add Madhu.

JoydaG did not answer. She walked straight towards the top of the hill she saw from the window of the director's room.

"How to deal with shamans?" asked JoydaG.

Madhu grinned happily because it was the first time JoydaG had spoken to him so much even though their topic of conversation was not sweet.

"We must abolish or destroy the ritual field. If he uses a blood circle, then we have to remove that circle. If he uses a statue or other object, we have to destroy it. Jono has the skills to use several types, so we'll have to see what he's wearing first so we can knock him out."

"What's the worst-case scenario we can do?"

"Burned it along with the ritual tools," Madhu said.

"Why?" JoydaG stopped walking, she turned to Madhu with some surprise.

"Because maybe he used his own body as a ritual tool," Madhu said with a stiff face. He was so serious that JoydaG could feel that mastering his own body as a ritual tool meant that he was already highly knowledgeable.

It was Madhu this time who took a step first. The aura is different from a few seconds ago. JoydaG became convinced that they would face their last resort. She came to remember the words of Bibi when she first offered her the choice of life as a hunter, assassin, and slaughterer in the Mantis organization.

"Your nightmares during this time will feel ordinary because you will live with your hands covered in blood," Bibi said.

JoydaG, who had been carried back to her own nostalgic moment, immediately dispelled it. She caught up with Madhu who had already walked a few steps ahead. They have already started climbing.

JoydaG felt the hills had no life. As expected, we are in the right place. The aura of this place looks black, there is a demon air everywhere. The atmosphere became too quiet. Under normal circumstances there will be a sound, at least the leaves blown by the wind. Now, even the wind seems reluctant to kill this place.

Madhu suddenly growled at the end of something that was about to eat his neck. Someone jumped off a tree branch and kept him busy not to hit, or injure him, but should be able to break free.

JoydaG was surprised by the same. The number of humans attacking them is quite a lot. It overwhelmed them at first because of the sudden attack.

"Jono is already doing the ritual now! I thought he would wait for the sun to set," Madhu spoke as he tried to face the humans that came to him like a lion scrambling for the flesh. He had already knocked a few people unconscious.

"Don't kill Joy! They are still human! their consciousness can be restored if we destroy the ritual tools!"

JoydaG was too busy to listen to Madhu, but she knew that the people who attacked her were only controlled, so she didn't end up killing them. She was still sober, the people who knew nothing, who attacked not on their consciousness would not be killed. She only had the choice to make the few people she faced unable to move back in the next few minutes.

The people who turned into beasts were reporters, police, and family members of the residents who were trapped in the ship that Jono was now somehow being hit. JoydaG rummaged through the main point of Jono's whereabouts, but it was difficult to do so as those people kept her busy.

"Keep them busy facing you! I'll divert Jono!"

JoydaG saw Madhu manage to escape the ambush of the lunatics. He jumped onto a fairly tall tree branch. For the size of a normal person, that person will not succeed in jumping as Madhu did. On the branch of the tree, he looked down, at JoydaG who was busy serving the people in a trance.

"I'm going to cast a spell! so make sure they don't come close to me! With spells, I can weaken Jono's work and find his location!" Madhu yelled at his plan while looking for a safe place to cast the spell.

"Okay!"

JoydaG could see Madhu jumping from one tree branch to another like a monkey. JoydaG grinned to find Madhu looking a good fit to imagine him as a monkey.

JoydaG didn't know if the plan could go smoothly, but she thought a spellcaster could only be faced by a spellcaster as well. Her ability to fight melee combat is useless in a fight against a spellcaster. Her weapon can't knock out the opponent because she can't see it. Unlike a spellcaster, Madhu knows how to break spells cast by other spellcasters.

JoydaG smiled and began to feel the teamwork between her and Madhu. She was somewhat surprised, since when could she accept the existence of others as colleagues.

While JoydaG was busy making the savages who were infiltrated unable to reach Madhu, Madhu cast a spell in a place that he thought was just right and not easily accessible from the enemy. He cast a spell that he had learned for a long time. It is this ability that makes him have the peculiarity of strength in Mantis. His mentor who knew his abilities developed his fighting skills with weapons as well.

When reciting a spell to break the spell that Jono recites, Madhu can feel the collision of the mantra recited by him with the recitation of the spell that Jono reads. He could feel that the dark power supporting Jono to cast spells was huge. Even so, Madhu was not to be outdone. In this spell-casting battle his determination to win leveled up, from initially only carrying out the task of ascending to wanting to prove that his strength in using spells was above Jono's ability.

In that fight, Madhu admitted that Jono's ability was quite high. His determination said, if I can defeat Jono then my strength and ability as a spellcaster also increase. In the future, it will be easier to deal with the spellcasters. Jono's source of power is unusual, no wonder he can perform spell paraphrasing during the day. The source of his power is too strong, Jono doesn't know that, he still can't control it. I could feel it from the way he cast the spell. The spell he read was unstable, meaning that he had just learned it and was willing to test it, but it seemed that he was impatient, maybe because he was too excited to get new knowledge, he was finally complacent?

Madhu smiled, and he managed to break the spell cast by Jono. Now that he guessed, Jono was vomiting blood. He actually used his own body to cast this spell.

Madhu saw people throbbing irregularly. They fell asleep and when they woke up later, they would wonder what was wrong?

Meanwhile, JoydaG took off a man who fell into her arms.

"You couldn't be faster?"

"Waw" Madhu grinned at the sight of the man being treated like a caterpillar by JoydaG.

"Where is he?"

JoydaG already upset. So, it would rather quickly end the mission than discuss something that seems to her is unimportant.
