Spell Structures

Like, my mind clears its canvas of all the thoughts and feelings I had with my opponent. Then, my eyes scan the opponents' movement and I try to avoid the attacks while taking in their fighting style. Finally, my brain finds its patterns and open spots.

With the three aspects done, I then connect all three to find the easiest and fastest way to kill my opponent. Friendly or not, once I manage to have an opening spot, there was no way a human could dodge the final stab or cut.

I was constantly disqualified from tournaments because of this aspect. And the worse part, I have no control over it. From the first clash, the aspects would kick into play. Only after some time, if the battle is stagnant, then I would resort to finding the way to kill down the enemy.

That's why I've always hated my hands. Girls at my age are constantly holding drinks, going out to clubs, and dancing. But my hands are holding rapiers and swords, heading to the alleyways by the command of my parents and sword fighting.

A lady's hands should not be stained with so much blood and mine was swimming in it. That's how society works. But right now, I am not in a tournament nor was I in the old society I knew of. I was in a world that the weakest gets snuffed out by the stronger Mages.

A world where I wouldn't need to hide my bloodied hands anymore. I flashed up the new powerups I've managed to gain from fighting Rina.

"At least I've acquired a new Element. Let's see..."

I opened up the spell list for the Flower Element. There were only six dances so not too much to use. But I realized that the Forbidden Dance, 'Hyacinth Blasted Eyes' was highlighted in red and bold font.

I expanded on that Dance, remembering that Rina had used this spell as a finishing blow to end the mission in Albion.

"Notice. The Forbidden Dance of the Flower Element, otherwise known as the Finale, is the most powerful and taxing spell to master and use for Flower Element Mages. If the Mage is not strong enough, it would require a sacrifice from the user's body."

"This Element stems from the Element of Life and uses the spell structure of Heaven's Wheel Spells by the Ancient Valokians."

Spell structure?

"Notice. A spell structure is a way the spells are being named. For instance, the Flower Dance Spell has a total of five stages and an additional one. The first stage is the weakest while the fifth is the strongest. And the Finale is created by combining the strength or properties of the initial five."

"This spell structure is called 'Ranked Stages'. But other spells like Cascada Moon have a different spell structure. Cascada Moon is similar to the Flower Dance but has a spell structure called 'Diverse Stages'."

"This is because the spell has got several forms but they are not ranked by strength but by usage. The First Moon is the fastest and least drain on Energy to use while the Last Moon requires a longer preparation and takes the most drain on the Elemental Energy Pool."

I never knew spells had structures. There must be a whole branch about it. I've always thought that all the spells were the same, the first form would be the weakest and the last would be the strongest.

Looks like that there are a total three I know so far, with the third being called 'Random Stages'. Random Stages' Spells would be like the Spells of Terra, where there are no stages and each form has a special reason for usage. Depending on the situation, that move can be the victory blow.

Knowing more about how spells work would be better for me if I want to use Magecraft and last in long fights with it. But I was hoping to get a skill that allows me to absorb Elemental Energy from surroundings to replenish the pool or use it to unleash a spell.

As it would seem that the Flower Element is quite the demanding element to have. If there was a way I could get a skill to convert other things to my Element Energy, then I won't have to worry about dying in this realm while using the Elements I was given.

Well, after seeing the description of the spells, I would guarantee that there is no way I am using the Finale. And this Element requires quite the amount of anger to inflict the highest amount of damage. No biggie, I have other things to use.

Which reminds me, I wanted to ask what happens to Mages who have the Corruption Element but aren't affected by it?
