Night Of The Living Dolls

"Honestly, what kind of a Familiar are you?! So you aren't scared of me, but you are scared of a bunch of toys? What's the matter with you?!" scolded Raiyen, finding himself at the head of the train.

Raiyen cursed under his breath before drawing out his twin daggers. Before any one of us could say anything, Raiyen vanished from his position and glitched around the horde. A second later, the dolls were broken and shattered all over the place.

That was... Incredible! Even my new eyes couldn't keep up with how swift those slashes were and needed Vania to point out each attack. His movements reminded me of a dance...

"Is everyone alright, besides Tomoe and his fear of dolls?" asked the Time Mage, further away from us.

The lot of us quickly sprinted across the shattered doll pieces to join back with the Time Mage. But before continuing, I took a shard of the porcelain and placed it into my blade.

"Notice. The examination has been completed. The results of the analysis are shown. Traces of soil, dust, blood, and bones."

Whoa there... Did you say blood? I knew it was true, but I wanted to be sure, so as I stood frozen solid on the ground, I slowly turned my head to see the pile of broken 'Dolls.' Least to say, I was standing at the end of a massacre.

I wanted to scream, but nothing came out as Tomoe quickly covered my eyes from behind.

"The worst part about being a summoned spirit into a foreign realm is that the Illusion Element does not affect us since our eyes come from another Universe."

"However, the same can't be said for Otherworlders, those who have been reincarnated as a new person and died in their previous world."

"The first thing you see is the illusion, and after a while, your powers kick into analyzing everything you see and touch. Then, the illusion breaks, and you would experience conflicting emotions. So those dolls that Raiyen had slaughtered were all humans."

"Though it would appear that they were live humans stuffed into porcelain dolls," explained Tomoe, turning my body so I would open my eyes to see him.

"The illusion went away the moment I cut through their bodies, so I am well-aware about them being half alive. Although, at this point, I don't see them as humans anymore. Just dolls with organs hanging about," said the Time Mage.

"Remember what we discussed about the materials that Fabian Brookes would get his hands on for the toys? Especially for these porcelain ones?" I asked while the group walked forwards.

Duncan had been relatively quiet throughout the journey from Teuton to our current point, so he was the last voice I would've heard as an answer.

"Those things aren't made out of normal materials, are they? They smell funny and foreign. And they reek of death," replied the Dementor Pillar.

"You are right, and my worst fears have been confirmed. Whatever captured victims Fabian Brookes has with him are being turned into those things. And every part of them is saved, including their bones."

"Although, I have no clue why they would need an illusion for these things," I said, closing my eyes and making my way to the head of the group.

"Because Fabian has been selling life-sized dolls for tailors across the Five Domains..." said Bryan, his face turned pale.

The man was already super white and now looked like one of those dolls. I whipped my head instantly to glare at the Slayer.

"Hang on... So you're telling me that tailors across the Domains have got a doll with organs stuffed into it to try out clothes?!" I asked, confused.

"Yes, but I don't think there's anything we could do now..."

Bodoh! I quickly looked up our live location on the map Vania downloaded and was worried.

"No, I don't mean that it's gross or what, but rather it's dangerous now. So, Raiyen, do you think you can tell all these tailors to throw away their dolls now?" I requested.

"That's not a problem, but I must ask, what's the rush? We are preparing for a big fight, and this shouldn't be our priority now..." said Raiyen, pulling out a green slab of crystal.

"The big fight that's coming up is the main reason why we need to warn the people above. These dolls aren't attackers; they are defenders of the mansion. We've just breached the borders of Briton, and those things have been activated."

"Soon, all of them will wake up, and I do not want to surface with a huge mass grave looking at me. These dolls were made to have an artificial brain for a Hive Mind despite all the organs used by their human victims."
