Duncan's... Victory?

"How many times have I told you that small tricks like these can never work? It's too late, Raijin... Your life ends now!" shouted the Time Mage as he threw the bolt back to Raijin.

With a snap of his finger, Raiyen activated the Time Trap, which instantly devoured Raijin's entire body. The Time Mage jumped for joy as he caught the Time Trap. However, Raiyen didn't think the giant storm above him would explode abruptly when Raijin vanished.

And that's how Raiyen had a new hairstyle upon getting out of the cave. But I thought it was strange that on my interface, it showed Raijin as active with his Elemental Energy and Aura frozen.

"That's because of this little device. It freezes a single being within a Time Pocket, so Raijin is neither dead nor moving unless I travel with it. I can even harness his power to my will if I feel like it..." explained Raiyen before we felt a different presence from the levels above us.

Everyone turned to look at each other before we nodded in unison. This feeling... This almighty Elemental Aura and Energy level could only be from a single being...

"Mavislin has touched down onto the premise, and we have to head off soon once the others are done. And I think Duncan is here," I said, pointing to the dark hallway with two luminous green eyes.

Honestly, that getup freaks me out, but I'm not going to say anything since Duncan successfully eliminated Astria Faust. Although, I was curious to see if it was the Ankou who did or Duncan himself.

Because though they shared the same body, their Elemental Energy and Aura are vastly different.

However, as Duncan walked out from the shadows, I concluded it was a joint effort between the two since their Elemental Energy Signatures were mixed.

"So, are you Duncan or that creepy guy that likes dog bone cookies?" asked Raiyen.

"I'm Duncan... And I'm not too fond of cookies. I want to sleep, but the Ankou says that there is another fight. Can I let him take over instead?" complained Duncan, plopping himself onto the ground next to us.

"Depends if the Ankou is willing to follow our instructions. By the way, how is your fight against Astria?" I asked.

"The Ankou says he would follow your lead and give you his strength but only on one condition," said Duncan, ignoring the last part of my question.

Huh? Need to have a condition, meh? I thought this thing was my Mission, and I was in charge?

"Alright... What does he need from me? I'm not selling my organs or sleeping in a coffin..." I replied worriedly.

"The Ankou says he wants you to accompany him to a certain place in Albion to pay respects to a grave. That's all he asked for and stated."

Eh, what's the worse that could happen? I'm already in the basement of some weird rich guy who likes turning young girls into dolls... Where else would be worse?

"That sound like an alright deal. Okay then, back to my question... How's your fight? I see you haven't sustained any big injury, so I'm guessing the fight went well for your side?" I quizzed, trying to get some information from Duncan's target.

"I'm surprised you've got the willpower to kill someone... It must be a tough thing to do, especially to another child. But you would get used to it soon- Why have you got that look on your face?" asked Tomoe, figuring out that Duncan was puzzled out of his little mind.

"Oh? Since when did I say I killed my target?" asked Duncan.

I widened my eyes as I forced Vania to broaden my radius to see if the Crystal Princess was still active. But all results came back negative... So what was going on?

"Then how did you erase Astria Faust? Do you have a trap device like mine?" asked Raiyen, bending down to Duncan's eye level.

"Nope... I saw the girl kill herself after going through my memories. I only unleashed two Frames and a bit of my Blood Mastery for the physical combat before that happened."

"As for why I was looking like the Ankou, each time I use my Original Spell, the two of us would merge for better usage of our powers and bodies," explained Duncan, like nothing new for him.

Huh?! So you are saying that this kid's memories were so depressing that they could drive the enemy to unalive themselves? How's that supposed to work? Imagine having great power that can tap into others' memories, but your factory reset your soul because it was too depressing?

I was amazed and horrified at the same time. I aspire to have such a set of depressing memories to make your enemies hang themselves.
