A War Meant To Be Lost

"You will never understand what I had to endure when you left. I adored my father, yet he could never look me in the eye. I slaughtered the oppositions without the King needing to lift a finger."

"And when I showed him my actual face, the King refused to acknowledge me as his son or heir to the throne. I placed my life on the line for the King, yet he couldn't do a simple task like seeing me as a person! You know nothing about what I felt... You don't know what the hell I've been through!"

"You've always been given what you wanted since birth... You didn't have to hide your true face from the world because you were the Empress' daughter, the next in line to the throne. You are powerful because of your blood and Authority."

"I don't think you would have gotten the same treatment if you had been born as a commoner," replied the Knight of Rebellion as she coughed out more blood.

The Valkyrie felt something snap as she conjured up a significant spike to impale Modred's abdomen. The Knight instantly felt limp but was still awake.

"Do not sully Valokia's kingdom with your treacherous mouth. You know nothing about how we rule our planet and people. Our protectors were chosen based on their powers and skill, not royal blood. My mother may be the Empress, but she was never chosen to be a Gladiator."

"You are right about not having to cover my face, but you are most definitely wrong for thinking I would deserve the next in line. My mother could have birthed more children, but she dedicated herself to her current family and kingdom once she had my twin and me."

The Valkyrie watched as Mordred tried processing her words and slowly retracted some spikes, leaving the bigger ones within the Knight's body.

"I could also be envious of you since I haven't had a father since my birth. There are no males within the royal family as they would've been killed by the females and fed to the firstborn of the Empress. In other words, I ate my father, but I didn't realize it."

"You had someone to adore... I had my family for only a brief time before everything fell. Before my mother left me. But I'm not sharing these sad stories to make you pity me... Instead, I want you to know that your pain is nothing compared to the pains of others."

"And that is never an excuse to go on a rampage and take others' lives. If that's the case, then there won't be such a thing called Life. I need you to learn from your mistakes so you can break out of the eternal hell you are living in. Unfortunately, the Corrupt Element feeds on such miseries..."

Mavislin walked over to Mordred and gently wiped the tears away as the Knight restored her rage and tried to struggle out of the confinement.

"Shut up! I won't take anything else from a liar! You lied to me about making the sword for me and being there for me! I had ENOUGH!" roared Mordred as she used her rage to boost her Elemental Energy and destroyed the spikes.

The Valkyrie backed away as Mordred raised her sword above her head, despite her injuries and blood spilling everywhere. Mavislin realized that Mordred was beyond reason and stuck out her arm to draw the Elements to her grasp.

"You want to know what I've gone through? The war you fought was nothing like what I had to see back in my world. If you want to challenge that fact so badly, I'll let you see what I experienced when my home planet was engulfed with flames..."

As a rainbow of Elements converged into her palm, a blinding ring of light exploded in her grasp and revealed the Mystic Tales of Wings' Blade. It was the same as what the Slayer had created but felt different. It looked more dazzling and felt more powerful.

The Slayer could not take his eyes off the sword of Elements as Mavislin gripped it, producing a large shockwave of power.

"I will let you see the true meaning of a war meant to be lost in every foreseeable way," bellowed Mavislin as she plunged her sword of colors into the ground.

However, the scene turned into flames when Mordred tried to lunge at the Valkyrie. The Knight was shocked as she turned around, not knowing if she was back at the cavern or still dreaming.

"What the hell is going on?!" shouted Mordred as blasts of fire rained everywhere.

Broken homes, destroyed landscapes... All while bones and clothing were strewn everywhere. Mordred treaded along the warzone. This place wasn't Camlann, but it felt similar.
