The Brine King, Galaxian Mages And Conclusion

"Le Fay!" shouted Mordred as she brought down Clarent.

"Of the Brine King!" finished Bryan as he released the bowstring, shooting out the three arrows.

The Slayer winced as the bowstring snapped with the sheer power of the spell, causing his hand to bleed. He had no choice but to keep his weapons until they fully regenerated. Meanwhile, the three arrows had transformed into a colossal tsunami, dwarfing both parties.

As the two spells collided, both sides braced for impact. But the Knight knew she would lose since she was up against the Brine King and a Constellation Mage.

The legends of Galaxian Mages were common during Mordred's time; they were known to be Conjurers of the Stars and great for telling others about their futures. However, they were rare and few in numbers, with most stopping their use of Magecraft and continuing as a human.

But for some, they refused to stop using Magecraft, or their kind could never go on. Z was one such person, dedicating himself to the people by helping those who needed it most. His power is the Command of Oceans, while his Element is the Cosmos.

Z could manipulate any event, object, or concept within the Universe to his advantage, making him a force to be reckoned with.

From the Tick that Bryan showed off his powers to the point of the final clash, Mordred knew that he was related to Z, a Mage who had helped her during one of their battles. Unfortunately, it was against something from the ocean, and Mavislin hadn't met the Knights yet.

Z was very patient and understanding to Mordred, treating her like a child. But the two went on their separate ways and never met again. As for the Brine King, those who were well-rounded in Water Elemental Spells know of that beast.

But, unlike the name, the Brine King is an undefined creature of the deepest oceans' depths. Not even Mages or otherworldly creatures can see its face nor understand the Brine King's language.

A creature worshipped as a God by sailors around the area, the King of the Salt Sea has the power to destroy nations by invoking the offerings and prayers given to them by humans. And Ashley's Original Spell was based on that legend.

Ashley complained about being given this Original Spell when he was used to using his Rounds. Meanwhile, Mavislin encouraged him to train more using the Brine King since it struck fear into Water Mages' hearts.

Finally, Ash listened to his boss and discovered that the Brine King's powers could be as mighty as first-rate Mages. Though the Slayer wasn't the owner or creator of the Brine King's Runes, the spell didn't fall too short of the real deal.

It was weakened but wasn't handicapped and could still function as well as its authentic version. How could Mordred ever think that Bryan could use such a powerful spell?

When the clash died, the two Mages were left standing tall but panting and looking like they were about to fall over anytime soon. Mordred smiled as she gave Bryan a thumbs up before walking to him.

But as the Slayer took a single step forward, the Knight widened her eyes as she saw him vanish and appear beside her with his arms outstretched.

"What?!" shouted Mordred, thinking that Bryan wanted to do the last attempt on her life.

Only at that did Tick Mordred realize that a huge boulder was about to collapse on her. The Slayer had saved the Knight in the nick of time by shoving her away but couldn't escape the boulder. By the time Mordred had awoken, Bryan couldn't be seen anymore. She rushed towards the area she had been standing in and quickly dug through the rubble using her sword as a shovel.

"Oi! Pretty boy! Where the hell are you?!" yelled the Knight as she rummaged through the broken rocks.

When she finally saw a pale arm hidden underneath the rocks, Mordred dropped the blade and used her hands to uncover the body. Bryan was still awake but barely clinging on as the stones had hit his head, and now he was bleeding profusely.

"Why did you do that? Why did you save me, knowing that I was your enemy?" questioned the Knight as she tried to stop the bleeding by tearing off her gauntlet.

"Because you promised not to kill me despite having so many openings to do so... And Lizzie said that you were kind, so I was hoping you could be on our side," was all Bryan could muster up before passing out.

"Huh?! Oi! Don't you dare die on me! Oi! Wake up! Damn it, this place is going to go!" shouted Mordred as she grabbed the Slayer and jumped out of the crashing cave.
