Help Me With My Quests

The man shot a glare at me before sighing and cracking his neck.

"Nah, I was considered a nerd since I play games and read Chinese novels. So that's why I was interested in Wuxing. And as for appearances, I heard people don't usually get reincarnated into this realm and mostly came here by accident with their original body."

"But you and I are different, we may look like our past selves, but our bodies aren't human anymore," explained Vincent, pointing to his back.

"Yes, I'm well aware of that fact, but why is there a need to share this information with me? Are you asking me for something?" I wondered why this man was so willing to tell me his purpose for speaking about his origins.

"Well, now... Spoken like a person who has only time for business and works without an inch for adventure and pleasure. Not wanting any of the limelight or the glory whenever you deliver justice to the person at the end of your blade... So now I get why we called you Shadow Rose."

My face drained of all its color when I heard that name escape Vincent's mouth... This man wasn't any other person randomly reincarnated into this realm... He was someone who knew of my past life. I stood up and backed away in fear, prompting Bryan to jump up and defend me.

"Who the hell are you, and how do you know me?!" I yelled, summoning my sword in anger.

The sword started glowing in various colors as I inched forward to Vincent, unknowing if this person was my past foe or friend. The Slayer caught sight of my blade's colors and backed down by moving to the side, fearing that he would have been skewered in the process.

"Woah now! I'm not here to hurt you, I promise! I was an old member of the gang you were in before you switched over to solo tasks. I had always adored you from afar, but you never seemed to care about suitors or interested in forming a relationship."

"I can't tell you my true name because I don't remember it, nor can I recall most of the things before coming into this world, " explained Vincent, visibly shaken that I would draw my blade.

"How can I be so sure that you are telling the truth? You know my second name, and that's enough to send the wrong signals to me... So, for the final time, if you can't tell me who you are, I have no choice but to turn you away or, even worse, dispose of you."

"And if you know me before this life, I am sure that you know how I work," I warned, with my Elemental Aura flaring up.

"Okay, okay! The only thing I can tell you is that I died before you! Like, I died two years ago! When you were still in school! The last time I saw you, you were at a chalet Christmas party helping to care for the little kids because your brought your baby brother..." explained Vincent, holding up his hands in surrender.

"We were supposed to bring something for the potluck and barbeque... What kind of salad did I bring?" I questioned.

"You hate salad! You brought several boxes of Happy Meals and ice cream because no one would allow a 12-year-old to cook at a BBQ pit, so everyone told you to get something for the kids..." blurted Vincent as my blade was nearly at his throat.

I lowered my blade and smiled before rushing toward Vincent in an embrace, shocking the two boys in the room. I tried my best not to cry at finding the one person I could trust during my time as a killer—the one who never saw me as a sex toy and treated me as an equal.

Because, when being in an area with the most rape cases out of the whole contuntry, all ladies needed to be indoors by a specific time. And I was a girl with a part-time job sneaking around at night to dispose of my client's enemies and targets.

All around me were men who lusted for my body and endowed chest to the point I was so sick of being a girl. I didn't care for my gender as I devoted myself to my job of annihilating other sleazy humans. And while the males in my own gang kept asking me for sexual favors...

Vincent was the one who treated me like I was his homie and spoke against any male that tried to exploit me for my body and gender. So I climbed up the ranks with my skills alone, not because I was born a girl but because I was the eldest and needed to protect my baby brother.
