Riding On The Jörmungandr

"Come on, let's move before the Arks see this thing as a threat and mobilize something against us!" I said, rushing Vincent.

The poor man didn't know if he should get on or continue flying around, so I got impatient and yanked his foot, pulling the man to sit behind me.

"Teuton should be on his radar since it was the first Coast he touched. Come on now, let's head there before you become sushi," I ordered, patting the Jörmungandr's head.

The Beast howled as he slithered towards the coastline. It was bumpy at first, but once we touched the water, it was smooth sailing from there. I was having the time of my life while Vincent was screaming his lungs out, unable to understand the true pleasure of adrenaline.

From another angle, the man looked like Marlin from Finding Nemo when the poor fish clung to the sea turtle's shell for dear life.

"I thought you loved thrill rides? Why are you so scared right now? You sound like a girl screaming for bloody murder," I asked, turning around to see the cowering man.

"Those are different! Those rides have things called safety belts! If you've forgotten, those belts prevent you from falling out to your death! This is different! I don't see anything holding me down on this overgrown eel!" shouted Vincent, squeezing his eyes shut.

"Oh, come on! It's not as if you are going to die! We're already at open water, so at most, we would be in the ocean. Plus, you're the one who has got wings and can fly. So why should you be more scared than me?" I questioned, trying to get Vincent to see the view.

"Because I don't like heights! And I've never ridden on a mythical creature before! So I've got no clue what's going to happen to me!" shouted Vincent, looking up to face me.

I smiled as I slid down the Jörmungandr's back, screaming with glee. As I reached its tail's end, I was shot upwards and was airborne in the sky for a few Ticks. Taking advantage of the momentum, I somersaulted in the air several times before landing back on the Serpent's head.

Vincent's eyes were so wide that they were about to fall off his socket.

"What's the matter? Can't I have my fun too?" I asked, raising my eyebrow.

"The last time I saw you... You were so scared of rollercoasters and cable cars. Now, look at you, happily doing gymnastics in midair on top of a moving snake... What happened to that timid girl that I left behind?" questioned Vincent, slowly scooting towards me while still clinging onto the Jörmungandr.

"That girl was long gone after you've died... I started going to amusement parks with my younger brother. We loved the adrenaline, so I've grown out of my timid nature."

"Besides, if I were to continue being so withdrawn, they would have never left me alone, " I explained, happily plopping down to sit cross-legged on the Serpent's head.

Silence befell us as the day turned to dusk. The orange and purple skies were beautiful, except for that ring of clouds. I have no clue what it was, nor did Vania seem to care much about it. But it did ruin the evening skies for me.

"Hey, why are you staring at the sky so much?" asked Vincent, finally getting comfortable.

Either that or tired from screaming his lungs out.

"I was just wondering about that band of white clouds in the sky... It's ruining the scene."

"Now that you've mentioned it, you're right. So where did that ring come from?"

"Who knows? Maybe, just like my Original Spell, I may never know..."

"It isn't like you to be sulking at someone's comment... Usually, you'll be berating the fella into a pulp or outright smashing his head in with a toy bat," commented Vincent, placing a hand on my shoulder.

I let out a howl of tiredness and frustration as I lay on my back.

"It was only once you walked in on me losing my temper on the customer! And the only thing around was one of their children's toys! And there's no way I could beat the Grand Admiral into a pulp. One swing and the fat man can put one more tombstone at the local cemetery."

I closed my eyes as I reviewed all of my powers and Skills. I had so many Elements to choose from and Skills to use that I wasn't sure if I could control or master any of them—Jack of all trades, master of none. Likewise, I had so many spells, and I couldn't master any of them.

However, I did have to remember that saying has a follow-up that made me feel better about myself.
