Against VK

"So I am here. Have I got your attention?" I asked, ticked off with how dismissive VK was.

VK merely waved his hand, trying to shoo us off. That's when I felt something snap, and I clicked my tongue before vanishing from my spot and appearing right in front of VK's desk. I kicked the desk, making the giant thing fly upwards before swerving my body to pull the table back down.

VK was forced to stand up and didn't seem too impressed as he sighed and gathered up the papers he had been working on.

"If you want to prove if you are worthy of my attention, I suggest you go back and learn how to fight without your Magecraft. I will not permit the use of Magecraft during my give Missions, and I hate seeing them around hear, so bugger off," spat VK, turning his back on us.

Okay, I've just about had it with this pompous piece of sh-

"She wasn't using any Magecraft just now. This whole room doesn't allow the use of Magecraft. I had built it like this so no Mage could pass through here and try to wreak Elemental havoc. You were the one who ordered me to do so... Remember?" asked Vincent, extending an arm to stop me from violently ripping VK's throat out.

VK turned back and sighed before pulling out twin daggers from his holster and brandishing them at me. As I stepped forward, an alert appeared in my vision. Vania was warning me that I couldn't use Magecraft and was unable to summon my sword. Isn't that warning a bit too late?

I smiled as I quickly ran up the walls and jumped, somersaulting in the air to grab a sword from the walls. Another quest prompt came out at the side of my HUD, stating to battle VK to proceed with the Mission. I gladly pushed Yes and contorted my body to slash VK's head from above.

Too bad the guy was quick enough to dodge my attack. VK jumped away, causing me to fall forwards and destroy his oak floor.

"Don't worry, I'll pay for the damages," I said, forcing my body upward to get an uppercut on the man.

As VK nodded, he missed my blade and tried to stab my head using his daggers. Now it was my turn to dodge by arching my back. When we both leaped backward, we wasted no time in clashing again. This time, we blocked each other's continuous slashes, resulting in a display of colorful sparks.

"Not bad... Otherworlder... I can't believe I would be crossing blades with a girl as pretty as you. However, I'm going to have the last laugh!" taunted VK as he disengaged from the clash to smash his blade against mine, causing a powerful shockwave.

I cursed as I was forced backward, skidding across the floor. But before VK could land any more attacks on me, I decided that I no longer needed my blade. And just in time as VK's follow-up attack shattered my weapon. Without saying anything, I slammed my feet down.

Bypassing his blades, I grabbed VK's collar, pulled him towards me, and smashed my forehead into his, causing a considerable thump to ring throughout the room. I released the man, and Vincent rushed forwards to catch the falling man. He was knocked out, cold.

I stumbled backward as my vision started to blur, slowly sitting down on the ground to stop the world from spinning. It had been a while since I used that move.

"Now that was one way to show who didn't need the use of Magercraft to win the fight... Although, an uppercut to the jaw would've been a safer outcome for both parties," said Vincent, shaking his head.

"If I did an uppercut, the man would've dodged and tried striking me in another way... It was the only thing I could think of since VK was clashing with my moves. Hopefully, the guy ain't dead..." I said, closing my eyes to rest.

"No, VK won't die from such small hits like this. I think he was caught off guard at the sudden notion. If he was that weak, I don't think he would be in charge of the Mafia," commented Vincent.

"You might never know; some of the most powerful people don't know combat despite running the show."

Without Vania's help, I had the get my bearings straight and started massaging my temples. Then, after tending to his boss, Vincent switched to me and tossed me a small bottle filled with bright green liquid.

"It's a small healing potion that uses the crushed herbs of the Briton's fields. It's fantastic for a natural remedy without using Magecraft. Smell it, and your dizziness should be gone in no time," instructed Vincent as I opened the bottle.
