Chapter 131

Today was just like any day for Thais Dralgol who was heading to work on Lehon. Everyday he had a smile on his face since if you compared his life 5 years ago to now then you would see the major difference.

Thais used to live on Alderaan which is now controlled by the Galactic Empire. But he and his wife whom he had just recently married were dissatisfied with the Imperial Government which replaced the Republic Government.

The taxes became unbearable while the Government just said it's to recover from the war. But Thais knew that was a lie since one could tell that the Imperial Senate just wanted to keep producing weapons for the Imperial military.

Some of it was used for reconstructing some of the Core planet's infrastructure and cities following the war but for the most part it was used for the Military.

Because of this Thais wasn't able to make enough to support him and his wife. The all the jobs which he tried to work for wasn't offering him nearly enough as his former job.

So he had no choice but to flee from Alderaan and start a new life on Lehon. He was skeptical at first since the benefits which were advertised felt unreal. That was until he first got to Lehon and he was given all of the Benefits which were promised.

He was put into a low income house which from it's appearance didn't look to be a low income house but the Terran officials told him that it was. And who was he to argue otherwise so he just accepted.

After the first day of arriving he was quickly brought to the Immigration Center where he would become a Temporary citizen until he get's his permanent Citizenship. There he also told them about his skills and his former job which involved Engineering.

Then the very same day he was offered a Job with enough pay to support him and his wife. He kept asking questions about the job since the pay looked too good for it to be a simple job. But then he found out that all people who lived in the Terran Ascendency had the same luxury as him.

Thais could see that his questions kept causing the people to look at him weird since he asked too many so he stopped asking question and just accepted what was given to him.

After accepting the job he was then showed how he could get around the city with the free public transportation. He was showed how to get to his job and told that he would started at the beginning of the next week.

Once Thais got him he told his wife the good news while his wife told him some good news. On Alderaan his wife was a Medical assistant and had gotten a year of experience working along side actual Doctor.

Upon doing a background check on her the Terran Officials had found this out and informed her that she would be able to go to college to become an actual Doctor if she wanted.

To her it wasn't a difficult choice since she always wanted to be a Doctor, so she accepted without hesitation.

They both were so proud of each other and for that night they had spent a long time enjoying the warmth of each other.

Now on to the next week Thais started his job and his wife was a week away from starting college which is in the city.

Now fast forward 5 years later from then now Thais has a family as he and his wife had two kids, a boy and a girl, with the boy being born a year before the girl. They were 3 and 4 years old.

Thais was heading to work as an Engineer for creating Civilian speeders, spaceships, etc.

As he walked down the street he stopped at a local Coffee before he headed to his job.

"Good Morning Kunash, How's my favorite Togruta doing this Morning" Greeted Thais as he walked up to the Kunash who already started to type something on the Computer in front him.

Kunash replied, "I'm not a fan of mornings, but working here is a lot less stressful than my previous job."

Thais chuckled, taking a sip of his steaming cup of coffee. "I hear you there. I've had my fair share of stressful jobs too." He leaned against the counter, glancing around the bustling coffee shop. It was a favorite spot for many of the employees in the area to grab their morning caffeine fix before heading to work.

Thais talked with Kunash for a little before it was time for him to leave.

As Thais stepped out of the coffee shop and onto the busy streets, he couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment. The past five years had been a whirlwind of change and new beginnings, but he had found his place in the Terran Ascendency. He had a stable job, a loving family, and a community that embraced diversity and progress.

As he made his way to work, Thais noticed the holographic billboards advertising the upcoming Intergalactic Technology Symposium. It was an annual event where engineers, scientists, and inventors from all over the galaxy gathered to showcase their latest breakthroughs. Thais had always dreamed of attending such an event, but it seemed like a distant fantasy in the past.

However, with his newfound stability and success, Thais couldn't help but entertain the idea of participating in the Symposium. It would be a chance for him to showcase his own engineering creations, network with other professionals, and maybe even catch the attention of the Emperor himself.

But all of this could only be achieved because of his new life. It was thanks to the Terran Ascendency that he could have this opportunity and he would never forget that.
