Chapter 66

"Kugh!" The man spat out blood.

"Talia!" Terry struggled to lift his body

Before anyone could make a move, she was already in front of her next target.

Madam Yin couldn't react properly and just stood there with her mout agape. Not a single word could be uttered as she watched her men get killed one by one.

Blood was sprayed everywhere.

Soon, only Terry and Madam Yin were left alive.

Talia, with arms soaked in blood, slowly walked towards Madam Yin.

"B-But... we had a deal..." Confused, Terrified, Hopeless, she managed to utter.

"The deal was that I'd get him for you. Well?" She gestured towards Terry who was laying down, biting on his lip. "I did get him."

Those were the last thing Madam Yin heard before her head got ripped away from her body.

"You evil bitch!" Terry shouted. "You better be kill me now or I'll-"

"You'll what? Kill me? For killing these criminals that you were after in the first place? If you have he guts to do that, then you would have killed them yourself and I wouldn't have had to do it for you."

Terry clenched his teeth. "You won't get away with this Talia..."

"Since you're not gonna be cooperating with me until the end..." She started walking towards him. "I'll have to temporarily remove you from the equation until I've achieved what I came here for."

Talia slowly lifted her leg up high with her foot aimed at Terry's arm.

Crack!

"URRAAAAGH!!!" Terry screamed from immense pain as his left arm was shattered.

"Now," She lifted her leg again and aimed her foot on his right arm. "your other arm."

Crack!

"GRAAAARGGH!!" He bellowed out a haunting wail.

His breathing was haggard and showed how tired and exhausted he was from the beating he got. But unfortunately, the torture didn't stop there.

Crack! Crack! Crack!

Talia stomped on both of his legs and also his ribcage.

The brutal and haunting sounds of bones being crushed intermixed with the wails of a man echoed throughout the room.

Terry's bones that has gone remodelling through training to make them as strong as possible and prevent injury was crushed effortlessly by Talia's immense godlike strength.

A normal human would have fainted and died by now but Terry's will was so strong that his eyes never lost strength, in fact, it was more fierce than ever.

"That's it..." Talia gave him a faint smile and crouched down. "You'll survive this if you keep your will alive." She looked behind her for a moment and locked eyes with Terry once more. "Your allies are probably already on their way here. I better go now. Let's meet again when this is all over."

Terry stayed quiet and conserved all his strength to stay conscious and glare at Talia. He knows that if he loses consciousness here, he would probably never wake up again. That's how critical his condition was.

----

"Oh my god...." Barbara said as she saw Terry being hooked onto life support inside the batcave.

Terry immediately let go of his consciousness once he reached the batcave with the help of Wonder Woman. They contacted her because she was the only one strong enough to handle Talia in case there's a confrontation.

But she didn't reach their location fast enough. When Diana got there, Talia had already left Terry in a critical state.

"He'll survive... He has his father's strong will." Wonder Woman said in a sober mood as she remembered Terry's look as she carried him towards the batcave where Luke Fox was already waiting. Terry's eyes were filled with so much rage that it looked like they were about to pop out of his sockets.

Beep...Beep...Beep...

"How long will it take for him to recover?" Barbara asked Luke who just finished washing his hands after he applied the equipment to rearrange Terry's bones and hold it in place. It was an euipment produced by wayne tech to prevent the need for amputation.

"Even with the miracle drug being administered through his veins," Luke Fox looked at the unconscious Terry lying on the bed. "I'd say it would take about two months for him to recover."

Barbara put her hand under her chin and pondered. "...that would probably be enough time for Talia to accomplish whatever it is she's planned."

"Don't worry.." Diana clenched her fists. "I'll stop her."

"No." Barbara sternly said. "You're part of her plan. You watched the tape on Terry's bodycam, right? That would only help her out."

"Then, what do you suggest?! We should just let her get away with this?! Isn't Terry your colleague?!"

"Whatever it is, she won't get away with this. You'll have to stand back for now." She said while locking eyes with Diana. Anyone would have been scared of staring a furious god directly in their eyes, but not Barbara. She's experienced too much to be scared by something like this.

"Fine...." Fortunately, Diana submitted. "But I'll immediately go after her if I ever deem that it is needed." She said to conclude their conversation.

"I'm okay with that." Barbara said.

With that, Princess Diana turned around and left the batcave.

"I should leave too." Luke Fox fixed his jacket and started walking after patting Barbara's shoulders.

As he walked towards the stairs that led to the mansion, Alfred, and Damian appeared. They just nodded at Luke before continuing to walk towards where Barbara and Terry was.

"..." Damian just stared at Terry with complicated feelings. Despite knowing Terry for a small amount of time, he does still recognize that he's blood related through their father. And that brother was gravely injured by his mother.

Irritated by seeing Damian, Barbara couldn't hold back from saying what she was thinking. "You're not gonna say anything?"

Damian, annoyed, gave back an irritated expression. "Do you expect me to apologize? I did not do this."

"But your bitch of a mother did. You should at least offer your help convincing your mother to stop."

"Why should I?" Damian frankly answered. "Do you really think she would change her mind for me?"

Barbara couldn't refute what he said and just asked what she wants to know. "What exactly does she plan to do?"

"I don't know." Damian furrowed his brows. "But there'll be more blood spilled from now on."

"More importantly, what do you plan to do now, Commissioner?" Alfred said.

"Well," Barbara rubbed the back of her neck. "Seeing how Talia mercilessly massacred a whole group of criminals that entered Gotham recently, we can safely assume that they're not important to her plan."

"Just like what Red Hood did last time? Just to distract us from the big picture?"

"Most likely..."

"But you still can't just let them do whatever they want here."

"Yeah." Barbara ruffled her hair in frustration and fixed it again. "I have to request assistance from the Outsiders."

"Outsiders?" Damian raised his brow.

"They're a bunch of people that worked with Terry before in Gotham." Barbara laughed bitterly. "They also have a better relationship working with each other than us with Bruce before."

"Do you think they'll answer the call?"

"I know three of them will. The others, I'm not so sure."

The three members of the outsiders that Barbara mentioned were Carrie, Don, and Cedric.

The other outsiders formed from the members of the mutant gang that didn't side with Red Hood all have different lives now and most of them have even left Gotham.

"But three of them will be enough." Barbara said with a confident smile.

"They won't be a match for Talia."

"That's right. No matter how skilled they are, they won't be a match for mother in the state she's in right now."

"That's why I'll have to request help from the Justice League." Barbara said with a daring smile.

----

"Gotham? Where that new kid is?" A wild looking man with long blonde locks asked.

It was Aquaman.

"Yes. Commissioner Barbara Gordon called for us personally. She needs at least one of us that can go face with a god level threat. The new Batman is currently in critical condition." The green skinned alien replied.

It was The Martian Manhunter.

"We understand that this needs to be addressed but who will go? None of us are really available." The man with an emblem of a lightning bolt on his chest said regrettably. The Flash.

These three were co-founders of the Justice League and have authority in the decision making within the League since their numbers have grown exponentially. They are currently in the watchtower.

With the threats earth receives daily from inside and outside the atmosphere, it wasn't easy to send someone.

-Do they need the backup now?

A man wearing a blue suit and a red cape was in the meeting using a hologram. Superman.

"She said that they can manage on their own for at least two weeks." The Martian Manhunter said.

- I'll go.

"Aren't you busy too over there?" Aquaman asked.

- I just need to take care of a few more things and then I'm done.

Superman said with a wry smile. He was currently in another planet building an interplanetary relationship representing earth to prevent any wars from happening.

- You all know we owe Bruce our lives. We tried to help out in the past any time we can, but there's a limit to what we can do there. Fortunately, years later, someone inherited his mantle... someone who knows Gotham and loves the city as well as he did... and it turned out to be his son.

The three acknowledged what he said and nodded.

- I'll go and help them... for Bruce...

He said as he stood up from his seat and his red cape fluttering in the wind.
