Yang Li started his first year of post-graduation (PG), his sister was in her fourth year, it was the same for Kai. At the end of his 1st year in PG, two interesting events happened.

Firstly, he was approached by a covert branch of the government. They asked for his help. He was initially surprised and later impressed by their ability to find information about him.

They wanted his help for a black operation. Li's father was in charge of all major Special forces in the country. All his data regarding sniper school was protected by the highest echelon of Special forces. Despite such protection, the covert branch was able to access it. It proved that the branch was under someone with an authority higher than his father.

He didn't agree immediately. He was a private citizen so they couldn't force him. He thought about it and asked for benefits in exchange for helping them.

After their internal discussions, the branch told him that he could put forward his demands. If they were reasonable, they will be fulfilled.

Li was really happy with this opportunity. He had 2 demands-

1. In the future if he created any technology/weapons useful to the armed forces, he would be given priority over other sellers.

2. He would be given tax-free land as per his requirements to start his business in the future.

They agreed to the second condition immediately. However, for the 1st condition they negotiated and changed it to two times i.e., He would be given priority above everyone else when he sells his technology to the government two times.

He signed an agreement and was debriefed about the mission. He came to know that the covert branch was known as Bureau 107. They reported directly to the uppermost echelons of the country. The mission was to retrieve a person who defected to a neighboring country. The person was a high-ranking scientist working on a top-secret nuclear project. He defected to the neighboring country, stole the project blueprints, and took it with him. The mission further stated that if the retrieval was not possible then the target had to be eliminated.

The person who debriefed him was a major general named Zhou Lin. He was also Yang Li's point of contact. The mission would start a week later.

Secondly, five members from elite families got admitted to GVSU. It created a buzz around the campus.

They were the Tang siblings- Tang Mo and Tang Yue in MBA college, Song Siblings- Song Jiu in MBA College and Song Jue in Journalism and lastly, Wang Lei in School of Architecture.

A party was organized by the Tang Siblings to celebrate their admission. Everyone was invited.

Kai being the social butterfly that he was, came to Li and asked him to accompany him.

Yang Li replied, "Not interested."

Kai pleaded and said, "This is an excellent opportunity to mingle and network with people. The Tang siblings have sent an invite to everyone. Almost everyone who is influential will attend."

"Although I know that you do not like such events, it will not hurt you in any way. And it will be of tremendous help to me. So, please do me a favor, and let's go!"

At the same time, they heard a knock on the door. Kai opened the door; Mei was standing there.

She said, "Is my brother inside?"

Before Kai could reply she heard a voice from inside, "Sister, I am here."

She came in and asked him, "I am a little bored. I want to go to this party." And she pointed to the Tang party invite she was holding. "You have to accompany me."

Yang Li looked at her and said, "Ok."

Kai who was standing by the door looked at the siblings in disbelief.

He said to Li, "I begged you so much and you didn't even reply but she just spoke a single sentence and you agreed! Where's the f**king justice in this world?"

Li said with a straight face, "She is my elder sister."

Kai said, "I am your best friend…... scratch that, I am your only friend."

Mei said to Kai, "Don't make a fuss. He would have eventually gone with you. It's just that he dotes on me so he immediately agreed. Hehehehe…."

"Also, I will bring a friend, and Kai you have to accompany her."

When Kai heard the last sentence, he turned to Yang Mei and said, "Why do I have to accompany her, she is your friend, isn't she?"

Yang Mei said, "I will accompany my little brother and you will accompany her."

"Also because she has a crush on you."

Kai was flabbergasted and said, "YOU are trying to set her up with me!! Did she ask you to do this?"

Mei replied, "No she doesn't know. Before, I came to ask Li we had already agreed to go together. You are just added benefits."

He shouted, "What added benefits…..."

She said, "Oh!! don't be a wuss, just accompany her and if you do not like her just reject her gently. It is not the first time for you. You are famous for rejecting proposals."

It was true. For the past 4 years, he was proposed to so many times. Except for a couple of times, he rejected them all.

He became famous after he topped his course in the first year. People found out he belonged to a tier 1 family. On top of that, he was handsome, charismatic, and very easy to talk to, so many girls were attracted to him. Although there were handsome men from various elite families in the university, they had their own cliques and were difficult to approach if you were not from a prestigious family.

Kai's amiability and approachability further made him attractive in the eyes of girls who were not from elite families. This led to a lot of proposals.

Soon Mei left the room.

The party would start at 7 p.m. They gathered in the University canteen at 8 p.m. The girls arrived before the boys. Mei's friend was called Zhou Shishi. She was also studying medicine and was in the same class as Mei. She was a year younger than Mei.

Mei was wearing a full-sleeved beige color top with a pair of blue jeans. It was simple yet it displayed her graceful figure perfectly. Her hair was tied in a bun and she had light makeup on her face. She was wearing light brown loafers. It was a casual outfit.

On the other hand, Zhou Shishi was dressed up for the event. She was very excited. It was one of the biggest parties of the year. She was wearing a white off-the-shoulder dress with knee-high boots. She had obviously gone to the parlor and got a new haircut. It was an asymmetrical cut and she looked very chic with this haircut. Like Mei, she also had minimal makeup.

The boys arrived 10 minutes later. Kai was wearing a steel grey blazer with a white shirt underneath. He was wearing grey trousers with it. He was also wearing a pair of black derby shoes. He was clean-shaven and his black hair was combed neatly. He looked very handsome and charming.

On the other hand, Yang Li was wearing a violet T-shirt and brown Cargo pants. He was wearing croc sandals. His face was covered by a black mask and he was also wearing a black cap. This outfit was even more casual than Mei's.

When Kai looked at Mei's outfit, he thought, 'They are indeed siblings.'

Mei introduced Zhou Shishi to both of them and vice versa.

Shishi did not pay much attention to Yang Li but she was captivated by Han Kai. She already had a crush on him and today he looked even more charming. She started chatting with him.

Mei came to Li's side and said, "You are wearing the mask again."

Yang Li nodded.

Mei sighed. Whenever her brother was in a public gathering, he would wear a mask as he hated drawing unnecessary attention.

Yang Mei was very beautiful and only Tang Yue from the Tang family could match her. She was not foreign to the concept of beauty. Despite that whenever she saw her brother, she was fascinated by his looks. Even though Yang Li was her brother, she could say it with confidence that she had never seen anyone with better looks than him. She believed that he was too beautiful for his own good.
