297 A Bit of Oil and Water (Second Watch)_2

Forsythia kept walking and reached a garden full of all kinds of blooming flowers, their fragrances wafting through the air.

Forsythia didn't mind the scent, in fact, she took a deep breath in and felt increasingly energized. So, she found a long bench, sat down, and quietly observed the stars in the sky.

Inside the villa, Daniel Atkinson and Gem Atkinson had just finished three consecutive rounds of chess, with Daniel losing each one. He couldn't help but knock over all the chess pieces purely out of frustration and declared, "I'm done. No more games."

Gem realized his father was livid out of defeat. He casually said, "Fine, I'm off to rest."

"Off you go."

Without saying a word more, Gem stood up, walked back into the villa, and climbed up the stairs.

He pushed the door open and saw no one.

Had Forsythia already gone to bed?

He quickly rushed down the stairs and into the yard. Daniel was tidying up the chess set. Gem asked, "Dad, have you seen Viola?"

"Isn't she upstairs?"
