Officer Armstrong hadn't finished speaking when another bout of scattered footsteps sounded. Following that, Jane Hancock rushed into the monitor room first, her mouth uttering panic-filled cries of "Ned, Ned."

Teacher Long hurriedly stepped forward to support Jane Hancock, whose body swayed as if it might collapse.

"Mrs. Mamet."

Jane Hancock grabbed Teacher Long's arm and asked, "Where's Ned? Where's our Ned?"

Having already lost her husband not so long ago, and now her son was kidnapped. Teacher Long couldn't bear it; unable to meet Jane Hancock's hopeful eyes, she said, "We're searching."
