Overcoming Darkness Part 2

The Autobots and Decepticons all watch as Emily is now under the control of Dark Energon and Optimus is worried and scared for her and that he might lose her just like Elita-1. Megatron watched their expression, especially Optimus' and he could see that he was scared of losing the human girl that he seemed to care for.

"I'm sorry but she's not Emily anymore. The blood of Unicron flows inside her. Allowing me to control her. Behold your worst enemy... Unicra. The child born from Darkness." Megatron chuckled evilly as glares were sent his way while Knock Out eyed the newly transformed Emily curiously as well as how her style looks.

"I like her new style." Knock Out said as he crossed his arms as Airachnid was finding this interesting.

"Let's see how the Autobots handle their friend." Airachnid said as she was enjoying what's happening with a smile.

"I've never seen such a dark look. Her eyes... It's as if they're full of darkness." Dreadwing said as he saw that her eyes were emotionless and was just full of darkness in them.

"Unicra, my newborn warrior. Obey your master and slay the Autobots without mercy." Megatron ordered and he smiled sinisterly as she obeyed his command.

Emily obeys his orders like a puppet and calls for her Sword Of Destruction and prepares to strike it as Optimus tries to stop her.

"Emily, no!" Optimus called out but his voice didn't reach her ears as she waved her sword that created a powerful shockwave that pushed the Autobots back and knocked them to the ground in the process.

"Ow man..." Bulkhead groans in slight pain as they sat up while Cliffjumper watched Emily approaching slowly as her eyes were just full of darkness in them

"What in the Allspark just happened?" He asked as he didn't want to fight Emily even though she was under the dark control.

Bumblebee beeps and whirred in agreement since he didn't want to hurt Emily.

"I don't know... It's like she doesn't know us anymore." Arcee said as she realized what was happening to her.

"Like your friend's new look? It's called instant dark look change. It's really stylish." Knock Out said as he was enjoying what was happening.

Optimus then hears Ratchet in his comm-link as he answers while not taking off his worried optics from Emily.

"Optimus, do you read me?" He heard how he was worried and trying not to panic.

"Yes..." Optimus answered grimly as he could tell that Ratchet was really nervous.

"What's going on out there? My scanners have picked up a massive spike of Dark Energon." Ratchet said and Optimus could hear the console of the computer as he was feeling dread and worry for their friend.

"It's Emily. Something happened to her..." Optimus said.

Back at the base, Ratchet could have sworn that his Spark almost stopped at those words. What happened to Emily?

"Oh no..." Ratchet muttered with worry and fear as the kids could feel it.

"What is it, Ratchet?" Jack asked as he was getting even more worried by the minute.

"Spit it out already." Miko said as Ratchet looked at them.

"It's... Emily..." Ratchet told them grimly as the kids starts getting worried

Back at the mine, the Autobots were trying to get up as Ratchet, with doubt, asked Optimus if he was sure that something was happening to Emily and the Autobot leader was sure of it.

"Optimus, are you certain of what you're saying?" Ratchet asked as Optimus saw Emily was walking slowly toward him and the others with her sword ready to strike again.

"I'm afraid so." Optimus said before he turned off his comm-link as Megatron spoke as the red and blue Autobot leader glared at him as he just smirked at the Autobots.

"What is wrong, Optimus? Hard for you to see someone you care for turn to the dark? Do not fear, you won't live long enough to see it. Now, my new warrior, destroy Optimus Prime once and for all." Megatron taunted before ordering Emily or Unicra to do what he wanted to do for so long.

Emily stood over Optimus who looked at her with worry optics and prayed that she would stop as she raised her sword in the air. The other Autobots were seeing what she was about to do and tried to tell her to stop.

"Emily, no!" Arcee pleaded as they were watching in horror.

"Don't do this!" Smokescreen shouted as he feared for both of his friends and teammates.

"Stop! You don't know what you're doing!" Bulkhead said.

Bumblebee beeps and whirred for Emily to listen to them but their cries fell on deaf ears but Emily didn't attack Optimus yet and it's as if something is going on like something was stopping her from doing so and Megatron could see this and was angered.

"What are you waiting for?! Do it now! Obey me!" Megatron ordered her as he was pulsating like crazy.

Emily was on the verge to attack Optimus but something weird happened and Optimus could see something like a flash of horror and fear to shine through her eyes as she started seeing visions flashing through her eyes really fast and it caused her to stagger back as her eyes were wide with horror.

"No... No!" Emily screamed in terror and fear as the visions didn't stop as she backed away from the bots as she was trying to make them stop.

"Do it now! Destroy Optimus!" Megatron ordered again as he was getting frustrated but she didn't obey.

"No!!!!!!!" Emily let out a terrified scream as the visions were haunting her like a recurring nightmare and it was scaring her.

"Stop... stop... stop!!!!!!" She screamed in fear as Emily's dark power started surging without control.

She started to attack the Decepticons like she's out of control as she was able to push against Megatron very hard that he got knocked down to the ground with a surprise grunt.

"Lord Megatron!" Dreadwing rushed to his side to help him as the other Decepticons took that as a sign to attack to defend their leader.

"Destroy her!" Starscream shouted as he launched his missiles at Emily who avoided it.

Breakdown, Knock Out and Airachnid rush straight toward her with their weapons ready. Emily easily avoids Airachnid's attack before grabbing her leg and slamming her on the floor as she lets out a surprise yell.

"Take this!" Breakdown shouted as he used his hammer on Emily who was able to stop him with one hand and pushed him away which sent him flying to the ground.

Soundwave then uses his tendrils to grab her as he succeeds but Emily releases a Dark Energon electrical shock that affects Soundwave and knocks him down as a static surge through him from it.

"This isn't right. Lord Megatron was supposed to be able to control her." Knock Out said as he dodged the swing of her sword at him as Dreadwing joined in the fight as Airachnid and Breakdown with Soundwave recovered.

"Apparently not." Dreadwing said.

"I'll stay behind you if you don't mind." Knock Out said as he stepped behind Dreadwing who growled at him.

"You coward. Go check on our master." Dreadwing said as Knock Out nodded and went to check on Megatron.

Dreadwing starts walking slowly as he takes out his sword before pointing the tip at Emily with it as she does the same with her sword as they both stand and are getting ready and both are on their guard.

"Let us see who's a better warrior." Dreadwing said before he charged at her as he started attacking Emily with his sword but she was able to defend herself with her own.

They both start battling with their swords as the Autobots see how she went on a rampage against the Decepticons.

"Are you seeing this?" Bulkhead asked in shock and disbelief as he only saw how Emily fought but the way she's fighting now was terrifying.

"I've never seen her fight like that." Smokescreen said as he continued to watch her fight against Dreadwing.

"That's not her. This isn't the Emily we know." Arcee said as she could clearly see that it wasn't Emily but she was still in there somewhere and was crying out for help.

Bumblebee beeps, asking what they should do as he was worried for their friend.

"What else can we do? It's not like we can fight her. She's our friend." Cliffjumper said as he owed Emily his life and that he needs to repay her somehow and hurting her won't do.

"We can't fight her. But we can stop her." Optimus said as he didn't want to watch the battle anymore and he just wanted Emily to be back to normal.

Optimus starts running to where Emily is battling Dreadwing to try and stop her. He can't lose her. Not like this.

"Emily, you must stop!" Optimus said and when he was about to reach for her, Emily was able to stop his servo while still holding off Dreadwing and more fear was settling in her eyes and the others could see it.

"That's not good." Bulkhead said as he saw that panic and fear were in her eyes.

"Stay away from me...!!!" Emily screamed in fear before she created a powerful dark shockwave using her dark powers to push both Dreadwing and Optimus, who let out shouts of pain, to the ground as they were both sent flying back.

"Ahhhh!!!!" Dreadwing shouted as he was sent flying against the wall as he was down.

"Ahhhh!!!!" Optimus shouted out in pain as he was sent flying back but was able to stop himself from falling down to the ground as he was still up on his pedes but static caused him to wince behind his battle mask.

"What are we just standing here for? Let's go help him!" Bulkhead said

"You're right. Optimus needs our help." Smokescreen said as he stood back up. Bumblebee hesitated but seeing as how Optimus needs help, they have to so he whirred in agreement.

"Let's go then." Cliffjumper said as they nodded while Arcee stood back up.

"No, wait!" Arcee tried to stop them but they didn't listen as Bulkhead, Smokescreen, Bumblebee and CliffJumper rushed in to help Optimus.

Bulkhead goes in first to stop Emily using his hammer but her body goes rigid.

"I'm sorry, Emily. But this is gonna hurt me more than it hurts you." Bulkhead said and knew that he would regret hurting her before he swung his mace down at her.

But Emily was able to stop him by grabbing his mace before throwing him as Bumblebee gets hit by Bulkhead and they are both sent to the ground as Bulkhead groans in pain.

"Ow, that hurts." Bulkhead groans as he rubs his head as Bumblebee whirred and beeped in pain as Smokescreen ran to Emily.

"Emily, stop! You need help!" Smokescreen said as he tried to approach her but she got into a fighting stance as her eyes were wide and glazed over by fear and terror.

"Stay back! Get away from me...!!!" Emily screamed as Smokescreen approached but she started to attack him by punching him a couple of times.

Emily starts punching Smokescreen and sending him down on the ground. When he was down, she grabbed a big boulder and used it to knock him out further.

"I'm sorry to have to do this, kid, but you leave me no choice!" Cliffjumper said as he ran to her.

When he tried to stop her, she dodged him quickly and started hitting him on his face several times, which sent him to the ground like the others. She suddenly stopped as she panted heavily but tensed up as Arcee started to walk to her calmly and slowly to make sure that she didn't attack.

"Emily, you must stop. Everything is going to be okay." Arcee said calmly and gently as Emily shakes her head as her body was rigid with fear as her eyes were still glazed over as if seeing something.

"No... no...! Stay back... leave me alone!" She screamed in fear as she backed away from her but Arcee could see that she was crying out for help and she was going to give it to her.

"I'm going over there. No tricks." Arcee told her as she noticed that her body seemed to relax slightly and took that as a good sign.

"Stay back. Don't come any closer...." Emily whispered in fear as her body was relaxing slightly to Arcee's voice.

Knock Out goes over to check on Megatron who is getting up as he rubs his head.

"Lord Megatron, are you okay?" Knock Out asked him as he helped him up.

"I'm fine, Knock Out. Where's the human girl?" Megatron asked before Knock Out pointed to where she was and he looked over and saw how Arcee was approaching Emily to stop her but he wasn't gonna let that happen.

"No!" Megatron growled as he stood back up and charged towards them with his fusion cannon ready.

Arcee was approaching Emily slowly and was almost in range to take her friend in her servos but suddenly Megatron started shooting at them and she cursed as Emily tensed up more in fear.

"You will pay for what you did!" Megatron growled as he then attacked Emily with his own blade.

But she then uses her Sword of Destruction to stop him and block his attack. Both were strong but with her dark powers boosting her attacks, Emily's sword became more powerful as it was enough to repel Megatron as she pushed him back before she started to walk backwards as the Autobots could see the fear in her eyes as tears started to fall down again.

"Stay back... and leave me alone...!" Emily screamed at them all before she made a run for it before Arcee could stop her.

"Emily, no!" Arcee tried to stop her but Emily was gone from their sight but an Energon shot almost hit her but she dodged them.

The Decepticons start firing at them as the Autobots all get up and start shooting back at them before Optimus turns to them.

"Autobots, fall back! Fall back!" Optimus ordered them as they all nodded before they all transformed into their alt modes and retreated as the Decepticons stopped firing at them and watched them leave.

"The Autobots are fleeing. Should we pursue them, Lord Megatron?" Dreadwing asked but didn't get an answer before they turned to him and noticed that he was silent.

"Lord Megatron?" Dreadwing asked as Megatron spoke up.

"This... is beyond what I imagined." Megatron said as he remembered how Emily fought back while her eyes were still consumed with darkness but there was fear and terror in them.

"I find it hard to believe in myself. The girl was infected with Dark Energon and yet you couldn't control her." Knock Out was still in disbelief and shock as he saw how she went berserk a moment ago.

"I can't believe she was stronger than me." Breakdown said as he grunted while rotating his arm as he was dented pretty badly.

"Well I do. It would seem that Dark Energon has made her stronger and more fierce." Airachnid said as she crossed her arm as one of her spider legs were bent and needed to be fixed while covered in small dents and dust.

"To think she was able to hold her ground against us and the Autobots. It's... remarkable." Starscream said as he was still pretty shocked by how the events turned on both sides.

"Do you not yet comprehend? I wasn't able to bend her to my will! The Dark Energon changed her but I couldn't control her-" Megatron started but stopped talking and started seeing visions.

Flashbacks that are unknown yet familiar to him and it was as if he could see what Emily saw and realized why she went on a rampage.

"Ugh..." Megatron groans and holds his head as the visions stop.

"Are you alright, master?" Starscream asked as Megatron started to walk towards the entrance of the mines.

"I'm fine. Return to the ship. There's something I must take care of." Megatron told them before he transformed into his alt mode and took flight as the others watched him disappear from their view as they were confused on where he was going.

"Any idea of where he's heading off like that?" Knock Out asked since Megatron just took off.

"I'm not even sure." Airachnid said as Starscream turned to them.

"Let's go back to the ship. Soundwave, open the ground bridge." Starscream said before turning to the silent mech as they need to get back to the Nemesis to get fixed up from their battle.

Soundwave nodded before opening the ground bridge and the Decepticons used it to go back on the Nemesis as it closed up behind them as they went to Knock Out's med bay.

Meanwhile the Autobots were still driving before they stopped and transformed back while trying to catch their breath and thinking of a way to help their lost friend who was really scared.

"That was intense." Cliffjumper said as he didn't realize how powerful Emily was.

"You're telling me. My tailpipe is still hurting." Bulkhead said as Bumblebee sent him a look and whirred to remind him that his back hurts after Bulkhead was thrown at him.

"Sorry, Bee." Bulkhead apologized as Bumblebee whirred.

"My head is pounding. She hit me really hard." Smokescreen said as he rubbed his head where he could feel a slight dent as Arcee looked at them with a stern yet concerned look.

"I told you not to go." Arcee told them as they turned to her.

"What were we supposed to do?" Bulkhead asked as Arcee didn't know as she crossed her arm while looking at the ground.

"I don't know..." Arcee said before Optimus spoke up as he was covered in slight dents and scorch marks especially his servo.

"Right now arguing among us won't help us solve this dire situation. Our friend is in need of help and we must do what we can to help her." Optimus told them as he remembered how Emily's eyes looked and saw deep fear and terror in them and how she told them to stay away and to leave her alone.

Optimus then used his comm-link to contact the base to inform them what happened.

"Optimus to base, do you read me?" Optimus asked before Ratchet answered.

"I read you, Optimus. Thanks to Allspark you're okay. We got worried when we lost contact with you. Is... Emily with you?" Ratchet said before asking as Optimus and the others looked at each other worriedly as he answered.

Back at the base, Ratchet and the kids listened as Optimus spoke.

"I'm afraid not. Can you get a fix on her coordinates?" Optimus asked as Rachet tried that already but he couldn't seem to get even a signal from her or where she went.

"Not anymore. The Dark Energon inside her must be interfering with her signal." Ratchet told him through the comm-link grimly before Jack spoke up as he was confused. How can Dark Energon be blocking them from finding their friend?

"Hold on, Ratchet. How is it possible that Emily has been infected by Dark Energon?" Jack asked in confusion.

"Yeah last I heard Energon could be dangerous to humans." Miko said as Ratchet started to get nervous.

"You even said that it could be fatal." Raf said as he could tell that the bots and Ratchet were hiding something.

Ratchet was getting nervous and was trying not to tell the kids the truth as he turned back to the computers.

"I do not know but more important is to figure out when Emily got infected with Dark Energon." Ratchet said as the kids tried to think when Emily got infected by it.

"Well let's see. Ever since that Scraplet situation, she started feeling dizzy." Miko said as she remembered how Emily got dizzy after their run-in with the scraplets two days ago as Bolty was asleep on her lap.

"Just like Arcee the first time she had contact with Dark Energon." Jack said as he remembered how Arcee got dizzy with the liquid of Energon.

"A coincidence. But it's not enough to answer our question." Ratchet knew their theories were correct but it still doesn't clear some things up.

Raf then perks up as he looks up to them as he remembers something just before they got back two days ago from the secured military base.

"Wait, I think I just remembered something. Before leaving, Knock Out used a weapon that sent out some sort of discharge." Raf said as they remembered it but they were confused that it didn't work before.

"Discharge?" Ratchet asked in confusion before his optics widened as he finally realized what happened to Emily.

"I see now." Ratchet said before contacting the others to tell them what happened.

On the Autobots side, Ratchet started to explain to them how Emily got infected and her current situation as they listened carefully.

"Emily was infected by a discharge of Dark Energon. Megatron must have created some sort of weapon that could infect anything with Dark Energon so that he would be able to control it." Ratchet told them and they could feel their Energon boil, mainly Optimus. He was going to make Megatron regret to what he tried to do to Emily one way or another

"Well, it didn't work because she attacked us. You should've seen her, Ratchet. She didn't want us to get close to her." Smokescreen told him through the comm-link as they saw how she kept telling them to leave her alone.

"And just to make sure we wouldn't get near her. She attacked us. Including the Decepticons." Cliffjumper said as he and the others looked at each other. What are they gonna do to get their friend back?

"She didn't attack me. I was able to approach her. I could tell from the look in her eyes. She needed help." Arcee said as Optimus spoke through the commlink.

"Ratchet, do you think we can extract the Dark Energon from Emily?" Optimus asked as the others looked to him

"I cannot be sure." Ratchet said as he wasn't sure on how they're gonna get the dark energon out of Emily. Optimus sighed silently before nodding as he turned his comm-link off as Arcee stood up.

"We should go find her." Arcee said as she needed to find Emily and fast before she could hurt herself even more.

"Arcee, your spark is in the right place. We can't rush in like this. For we risk hurting a friend." Optimus told her as she looked at him before walking forward.

"Staying here and doing nothing won't help us bring her back, Optimus. She needs us right now. I'm going to find her. On my own." Arcee told him before she transformed and drove in search of Emily and hoping that she would be able to find her.

"Arcee, wait." Optimus tried to stop her but she was already out of hearing range as the others watched her leave.

"I'll go with her. If that's okay with you." Cliffjumper said as he looked at Optimus who nodded as he saw that he can't stop them.

"Very well." Optimus said a Cliffjumper nodded before transforming and quickly went after Arcee to help her find their friend as the others watched them go.

"Shouldn't we go with them?" Bulkhead asked as Optimus was in deep thought.

"Maybe right now the best thing to do is to be patient." Optimus said before Smokescreen spoke up.

"Optimus, with all due respect, we should go help Emily. She's our friend. If one of us was in trouble, she would do anything to help us." Smokescreen said as Optimus saw his point and he was right. Emily did help them a lot and she even risked her life for theirs.

"The kid has a point, Optimus. Emily is part of our team. Part of our family. Family members always help each other out. No matter what. If we stay here, we would be abandoning her. We Autobots never leave other Autobots in need of help." Bulkhead agreed as he owed Emily for saving them a couple of times before and he would do anything to help.

Bumblebee beeps and whirred in agreement as he would do the same to help and save his sister from danger and to help her in every way he can. Optimus saw their point and he remembered how Emily charged right in front of the attack and blocked it for him even though she knew the risk of rushing into battle without assessing the situation. So he nodded as he would do anything to help Emily and to see her by their side again and to see her smile.

"Then we will go help our dear friend. And bring her home with us. Autobots, roll out!" Optimus said before they all transformed and started driving in the same direction Arcee and Cliffjumper went as they were all determined to save their friend and bring her back home with them.

Meanwhile at the base, Ratchet was feeling extremely nervous and the kids could see it.

"Are you okay, Ratchet? You seem... nervous. I've never seen you like that." Jack said as seeing the medic being this worried was worrying them as well.

"Yes. Normally I always keep my emotions in check but..." He trailed off and Miko knew that he was worried about their friend.

"You're worried about Emily aren't you?" Miko finished for him as he nodded sadly.

"Yes..." He told them softly as Raf looked worried for Emily. She was like a big sister to him and he always looked up to her to be brave.

"Is she going to be alright?" Raf asked worriedly as Ratchet looked at them.

"Don't worry. I'm confident that the team will find her. We will not give up on her so easily." Ratchet said as he hoped for the others to find her.

Meanwhile at the Nemesis, the others were done getting fixed up as Breakdown was finished with fixing Knock Out's paint job.

"Ah, finally. My finish looks good. Just the way I like it. I cannot believe it got ruined twice today." Knock Out said as he checked to make sure that there wasn't any scratch on him.

"Perhaps if you were a better warrior, Knock Out. Maybe this won't happen." Dreadwing rolled his optics at him as Knockout gave him a look.

"Oh really, Dreadwing? Then please tell us why it is that a human infected with Dark Energon got the best of you?" Knock Out asked but taunted him as this caused the seeker to growl at him.

"Do not address me with that tone." Dreadwing glared at him before Airachnid spoke up.

"Don't you find it weird? That Lord Megatron went on without us?" Airachnid asked as she was still confused on why Megatron left without them.

"Not really. My guess is that he wanted to take care of things by himself." Knock Out said.

"Too bad we had to come back. I would've loved to smack Bulkhead." Breakdown said as he crossed his arms.

"Lord Megatron surely had his reason to send us back here, Breakdown. In the meantime we should be prepared for when he decides to call us to battle again." Starscream told them.

"And this time." Knock Out said before he switched his servo for his saw as it whirred to life.

"The girl is gonna be the one with a scratch." Knock Out said as he was gonna give the human girl a lesson for ruining his finish twice.

Soundwave then detected a Dark Energon signature not far from the mine and the others guessed on who it was.

"Dark Energon? Hmm it must be the human girl. I'll contact our master right away." Starscream said before contacting Megatron through the commlink.

Meanwhile, Megatron was flying while trying to find Emily when he heard Starscream contacting him so he answered it.

"Lord Megatron, I have excellent news. Soundwave has found the location of the girl." Starscream told him and Megatron would have rolled his optics at him.

"So did I. I can feel her presence. She's close." Megatron said as he flew in the direction where he could feel the signature of Dark Energon.

Back at the nemesis, Starscream was about to send an order to some warrior class vehicons to help him.

"I'll send out a squadron to assist you." Starscream said but he heard a growl from the other side of the comm-link.

"No." Megatron growled.

In the skies not far from the mine, Megatron could feel the human girl.

"I will deal with this situation by myself." He then cut the comm-link off and started to speed up.

In the Nemesis, Starscream tries to convince Megatron that it might not be the best course of action to go after the girl, not after what they saw and how powerful she was.

"But, master, you saw what this human girl did under the influence of Dark Energon. Please allow me to send you reinforcements." Starscream tried to insist but didn't receive an answer.

"Lord Megatron? Master? Hello? Anyone there?" Starscream kept trying before realizing that Megatron turned his comm-link off before he turned to the others who were thinking of what will happen when Megatron finds the girl.

Things won't be pretty. Not like this while she's under the dark influence of Dark Energon.
