Wolves with Special Abilities

*Noel*

Calm the hell down wolf! We're in the middle of the goddamn road! Do you want to get our mate killed? I scolded my wolf; he is so thrilled that our mate is by our side. I had to fight the urge to take her, looking at the situation, this isn't the perfect time. She had just been attacked. Ugh, I swear I'm going to find and kill those bastards for trying to... No, no, no, calm down, you might turn and scare our delicate mate.

After giving me her address, she became anxious, slightly gripping tight whenever we accelerate. Though after a few minutes, she finally stopped trembling. This must be her first-time riding on a motorbike. I should be more careful then.

It feels good and satisfying feeling her embrace. I could go on like this forever. Her scent is filling up the air and it's making me crazy; I should distract myself somehow.

"Mr. Lo– I mean, N– Noel?". I then heard her say. I can feel her hesitancy but hearing her call my name is music to my ears. "C– Can I ask you something?".

"Yeah, sure".

"O– Okay, um…", She sounds so shy, it's so cute, "Why were you there when y– you found me? – I'm sorry you don't need to answer that, I, um, I guess I'm still, you know...". Her grip tightened and I can tell she was still shaken up at what happened. Those bastards, I will make them pay but first, I need to calm her down.

"I like having night rides," I responded, "It calms me down.".

"Driving fast calms you down?". She seemed confused. "Isn't that a bit ironic?". I laughed at her comment.

"Maybe, but it surely keeps me sane. Are we too fast? I can slow it down if you want.".

"No, no, this is fine… j– just be careful.".

"Just hold tight, okay?" She just nodded while I accelerated a bit so we could get by her apartment faster.

After a few minutes, we reached her apartment. It wasn't that tall but seemed decent. Her room was on the fifth floor. Their elevator is a bit small; it can only fit at least five people at a time. We were standing by her apartment door when she said, "Well, this is home. You really didn't have to walk me." She flashed her sweet smile, "Thanks again for, you know, saving me Mr. Loc– ".

"Noel," I interrupted her, "I did ask you to call me by my name and I wanted to make sure everything's fine before I go.".

"Thank you. However, calling you by just your name will be a challenge since you are a client… but I will try." She smiled at me again. I had to fight my own body not to kiss her right there and then. "Good night then– I mean morning.". I smiled back at her and watched her get her apartment keys to the door when it suddenly opened and a woman came out then hugged her.

"OH MY GOD! YOU'RE ALIVE!". The woman cried, if it weren't for Jenny hugging her back, I would've pushed her away. "I swear to god, I nearly called the police! Where have you been?!".

"Hi Ebony– ".

"Oh, don't you 'Hi Ebony' me, what happened? Where did you…", She then finally noticed me, "...go. I'm sorry, Mr. Locke?". I just waved and replied, "I should be going now, I'm sure Jenny will explain everything to you. Ms. Blades.".

"Oh-kay…". She said while I responded with a small nod. I bid Jenny and her friend goodbye. My wolf started sulking again but I had to leave. But of course, I made sure she was safe before I left.

Riding back home was a bit of a drag. She wasn't by my side anymore. God, I already miss her scent. After an hour or so, I finally reached home and instantly regretted it.

"Noel! Finally, you're back!" Kyle exclaimed as he bear-hugged me. Since when did he become this big? "So? Where did you go? Johnny's going crazy at the packhouse.".

"Nowhere, you know I do night rides." I covered; I don't really want him to know I came across my mate.

"Right." He responded, obviously not believing me. Then a female figure came to light which caught both our attention.

"Noel, my son!" She approached me then gave me a hug, "Where have you been? Poor Johnny running around looking for you.".

"Mother." I addressed her, "Just around the neighborhood, I just wanted to get some fresh air– ".

"Or is it?" A female voice interrupted me then a hand grabbed my wrist, "Oh my, what a hero." I quickly retrieved my hand and glared at the girl. Her and her damn ability.

"What hero?" Kyle asked. The girl then proudly placed her hands at her waist then declared, "Noel saved a damsel in distress.".

"A damsel?" Kyle was baffled. The girl then continued, "Yeah, and it wasn't just a damsel– ".

"Stop talking or I'll sew that mouth." I warned her but then Mother scolded me. "Noel! Don't talk to your sister that way, and you, young lady stop teasing your brother. It is late, you should all be in bed right now." Even though we were scolded, this girl still had the audacity to stick her tongue out to me, which I glared at in return.

"Fine, fine, but I need to address some issues left at my office." Kyle said and went on his way but not before whispering to the girl, "Tell me the rest later, Phoebe.". I eyed her, practically saying to not tell Kyle more but she just snorted and walked away. Such a rebellious kid, she's only 17 years old but already troublesome. She's even more stubborn than Kyle.

"Noel…" Mother called me, "How was your mate? Poor girl nearly got herself in danger." I blinked for a few seconds, "Good thing you got there in time.". I was confused as to how mother would know but then I remembered something.

"Your visions creep me sometimes, Mother. My mate is fine.". We then started walking with my mother's arms hooked to one of mine.

"I'm glad then. My visions are very subjective my dear. Not all of it comes to light unless tolerated.". Actually, my mother has the ability to see the future but the future always changes so do her visions. On the other hand, Phoebe has the gift of revealing touch, no secrets are hidden from her, only the truth comes out the moment she touches a part of you.

My mother and sister are the only ones who have been gifted with these abilities in our pack. Wolves with special abilities are considered valuable in a pack as they help protect and secure their premises. Others may attempt to take them so we have to be vigilant from attacks or raids. As if we let that happen.

"Now, off you go. Speak to Johnny." My mother said to me as we reached her and father's chambers, "The boy can wake the whole pack with his frantic searching.".
