Outside North Henderson Hospital, their cab screeched to a halt. Renee rolled down the window and caught a whiff of lilies and hospital astringent. Darkness filled the night, and the hospital lights were blinding.


"Thanks." Adeline climbed out of the cab, then extended cash through the front open window.
