Jack
Jack frowned. Adeline's hiss when he said the master vampire's name told him that she not only knew who he was but about his temper and reputation as well. No vampire was fully civilized. Drain enough veins, and the scent of blood grew too much for any of them not to attack.
Shifting on the bed, Jack sat up straight as the shower switched on. There was a bitter taste in the back of his mouth and he was glad Adeline had given him a mint. And she was right. He should've asked more questions about Beth's potions. Images swept across his mind of Vlad hurting Adeline while he was helpless.
After they finished with Beth's fee, and Jack knew Adeline was safe, he'd leave before Vlad's vamps found him. He prayed the spell would really keep the vamps away in the meantime.
