Adeline
Adeline leaned against Jack, letting him take some of her weight. Her back ached like a bitch. Even though Marie's shop lay in tatters around them, she didn't care. All that mattered was that Jack and she somehow survived.
"Thanks." Jack's hair tickled her cheek. "For coming after me and saving me."
"No. We saved each other." Her lips brushed over his. Reluctantly, she pulled away. "I-I need to tell you something." The silence between them increased while he waited for her to continue.
"Whatever it is, I can handle it." His chocolate eyes grew concerned as he searched her face. "Tell me straight."
"I've never pleasured a man before without my-" Part of her was terrified she'd disappoint him.
"I don't care if we were human for eternity." He ran a thumb over her lower lip, and her legs nearly buckled from her desire and worry. "I have to kiss you until you beg for more. I'll embrace you until you grow tired of me."
"Not possible." She'd never have enough of this man.
