2. Though Choices

Alano Costanzo, better known as Big Boss, is the name of the man who is now standing watching people pass by through the glass wall in his room while enjoying a cup of Baralo Red wine.

The atmosphere in Milan–Italy, to be precise around Alano Costanzo's luxury house that afternoon seemed quieter and quieter than usual, but Alano quite enjoyed such an atmosphere, because he liked loneliness. Just like his life that has never been colored by love.

A few moments later he heard someone ringing the doorbell in front of his room, a sign that someone was asking for permission to enter his room.

"Who is there?" Alano asked with a little shout because the room was quite spacious, his voice would not be heard outside.

"This is Daddy," replied the man.

"Dad, come in please," Alano said, then he took a remote control and said, "Open the door!" the door to the room opens automatically.

Only then could he see the figure of his father who was quite an old standing in front of the door.

"Why are you standing there, Dad? Please come in," said Alano as he walked to the sofa and sat there waiting for his father.

"Wow, I didn't expect it to turn out to be the child I used to carry and still whine to buy me a toy, but it turns out that the child has now grown into a handsome and strong man," Alessio didn't stop praising his son as he walked.

Alano frowned because his father didn't usually praise him like that. Even though he knows that his father is expressive and affectionate, in contrast to his cold self.

"What's the matter, Dad? There seems to be something you want from me, that's why you compliment me like that." Alano immediately asked the point of the conversation without further ado. He is indeed a cold and indifferent person, especially to women. In fact, in front of his men, he was very firm.

Alessio's laughter broke out instantly, "Apparently you are also smart enough to know what I mean," said Alessio.

Alano just smiled faintly, apparently, his guess was right that his father had other intentions.

"So what's the matter, Dad?" Alano asked again while pouring a glass of wine into his father's glass.

"Okay, looks like you don't like small talk. There's one thing I want to tell you, Alano," replied Alessio.

"What is it?"

"You are now successful, you are the CEO of a big company in Milan, besides that you are my sole heir, this house and all its property are yours, not to mention the vineyards, and the dark business that you run with your men. Besides that, your face is also handsome. I think that's more than enough, so what keeps you single?" asked Alessio. He had to be extra careful if he wanted to talk about this to Alano because he knew that Alano would be very sensitive when it came to his partner.

Seen from the look on his face that immediately turned fake, he turned his face to another direction, it seemed that Alano was annoyed because for the umpteenth time his father always talked about it.

"Didn't I already say that I don't want to have a partner forever? I'm happy living my life now, living alone doesn't make me feel lonely," said Alano firmly.

"But, Al. Think about it carefully, What if I'm no longer in this world? Later you will feel lonely. After all, you need love and women in your life," said Alessio.

"No, Dad. I don't need love let alone a woman. What for? Women will only hurt me, women will only be an obstacle and even a destroyer in my life. Likewise, with love, I never believed again in a word called love. For me, there is no love in this world!" Alano said emphatically in the hope that his father would understand how he felt.

"Alan, I know. You are like this because you look at what I went through with your mother. But believe me, not all women are like your mother, Al. There are still many good women who can truly love you in this world. What happened to me was purely my fault, I was the one who loved someone wrongly," said Alessio no less loudly. He just didn't want his son to feel lonely like he feels now after his wife left him. Alessio doesn't want to remarry because the wound in his heart still hasn't healed.

"Then what if I also love a woman wrong? I'd rather not have to love anyone but you, Dad." Alano is still adamant about his decision.

"But how can you know if a woman is right for you or not if you don't want to try to open your heart. Trust me, not all women are like your mother." Alessio repeated his words.

Alessio just wants to convince his son that not all women are like his ex-wife. Alessio was wrong in loving a woman, at first he thought that his ex-wife was the right woman to accompany his life until he died. But it turns out he was wrong, the woman he adored left him when he was at the lowest point of his life.

When Alano was 10 years old, Alessio had fallen ill for several months, because of that he could not give his wife sexual satisfaction. It turned out that the woman could not stand it, she was looking for another man who could satisfy her sexual desire. After a long time finally, the woman was caught cheating by Alano, yes the little boy saw with his own eyes how his mother had sexual relations with other men with several fathers.

After that, Alessio asked his wife to leave his mistress because he was already in the healing process, but it turned out that his wife preferred another man and left him and young Alano. Since then Alano hated women, especially his mother, he promised he would never love any woman and he also didn't want to be married forever.

"You already know what is the biggest reason I don't want to get married, but besides that, there are other reasons, Dad," Alano still maintained his opinion by looking for various reasons.

"Especially? Because you're a mafia so it's not appropriate to marry or fall in love because it will damage your image as a mafia, don't you think?" asked Alessio with a bit of a sneer, actually, he never agreed with his son's work because it was too risky. He had forbidden Alano many times to no longer do business by selling weapons illegally because their family materially was more than enough, they could even be called billionaires. But Alano never listened to what he had to say, he continued to run the dark business.

"I and my men are not mafias like the Sicilian organization, we only trade arms illegally and don't commit any crimes anymore. That's it, but even so, if I get married and fall in love then I won't look scary in front of my men anymore," said Alano.

"It's up to you, but remember what I said if you still want to see me alive then you must get married as soon as possible, I give you 3 days to find a future wife. If you still don't want to get married, then you will see my corpse," Alessio gave a threat that was quite terrifying because this was the only way to get Alano to comply with his request.

Alano does run an illegal business, but he is not like the mafia in general, which is cruel and heartless. At least Alano still has affection, especially for his father who has been fighting alone for him all this time. Alessio knows that the only person Alano loves in this world is himself. So Alano would be afraid of his threat.

"Dad, don't talk nonsense. I don't like you saying that" Alano snapped.

Alessio just shrugged his shoulders as he got up from his seat, "Remember what I said earlier, I'm not kidding. If you don't believe, then please prove it. But don't be sorry," he said before he left Alano's room.

"Dad, Daddy! Daddy, that's a crazy and unreasonable request," Alano shouted. But his father still ignored him.

"Aaah, damn it! Why does Daddy want me to get married!" Alano rages, he screams while kicking things in front of him and throwing anything he sees, including the piece of paper he was studying earlier, until a glass shatters and the room falls apart in an instant.

Alano ruffled his hair, he grabbed it tightly. This was a tough choice for him, Alano's head felt like it was going to explode. Even so, but his smart brain can still be used to think.

When he saw a contract letter lying on the floor because he had thrown it earlier, Alano suddenly came up with a brilliant idea. I don't know where the idea came from, but for sure Alano felt it was the best solution for him.

"Contract marriage, I can pretend to be married in front of Daddy, even though I'm not. I will give a lot of terms and a certain period in the contract. So I don't have to get married for real. Yeah, that's a great idea," Alano thought.

Without wasting any more time, he immediately called his men because he would ask them for help in finding the right woman to be his contract wife.
