Chapter 12

Abaddon stood before her. The one person she wanted gone. Victoria pushed herself to stand before the fiend. She swayed a little as she brought back her balance.

"Oh my, how much courage you have young Vicky! Your parents would be proud," Abaddon hissed.

Victoria braced herself as she charged at Abaddon, her wings pushing through her clothes, quickening her pace.

Abaddon stood there, lazily eyeing Victoria. As Victoria drew nearer, Abaddon shifted to the side and Victoria collapsed to the ground. Again, forcing herself up, she charged at the pale figure and once more, Abaddon side stepped her.

"Oh Vicky, this isn't much of a fight now, is it?" Abaddon complained, swirling a flame around her index finger. The voice sounded good humoured, but Victoria could feel the hatred in it.

"Okay dear. I'll give you one chance," Abaddon continued as Victoria turned to face her. "I won't run, but you try to hit me. If you fail, I get to hit you. Deal?" Abaddon ended with a honeyed smile.

Victoria didn't trust her, but it could be her only chance. "Deal," she muttered under her breath.

"Oh dear Vicky, if you don't speak up, I'll never hear you!" Abaddon cupped a hand around her ear, mockingly.

"DEAL!" Victoria yelled. She then took a step back, and suddenly pushed herself forward, almost pouncing on the creature. As she was an inch away from Abaddon, the fiend lit her hand with flames.

Wide eyed, Victoria gaped at the fire unable to stop herself from being hit. The force of the flames was so powerful, Victoria was pushed against the wall and crumpled to the ground in a heap.

Abaddon launched into a peel of malicious cackles. "Oh Vicky, did you really expect me to allow you to hit me?"

No response came of Victoria.

"Dear, are you finally dead? 'Cause that just finished off the job for me rather easily. One hit and she's down. Really, the vessel that carries the devil's essence can't even keep up a fight against an angel. A fallen angel no less."

Abaddon walked slowly towards her prey. One could her the click-click of her heels on the marble ground.

"Ah sweetie," Abaddon said as she neared "I wish I could have played with you a little while longer."

As Abaddon reached out to touch the girl's face, Victoria's head jerked up.

Startled, the angel moved backwards. "No, impossible. The impact should've killed her."

Victoria slowly stood up and opened her eyes. After four years they looked identical again. They had both turned blood red. They blazed at Abaddon.

Abaddon stood frozen as she saw the once feeble girl rise into the air, her wings growing bigger, a demon tail and horns growing from her back and head. A new, powerful Victoria was born. Powerful enough, Abaddon knew, to end her.

"Oh, I'm sure you would have loved to play around more Abaddon," Victoria said in Abaddon's mocking tone. "But I'm pretty sure that you now have to GO!"

On 'go' the dark tendrils creeping over Victoria combined to form a spiral over her torso.

The last thing the angel of death saw before she was blasted into the abyss was the spiral forming a dark beam moving towards her at an impossible speed.
