LO's

The camp was under a building that stood firm, it appeared to be mostly untouched, both on the outside and inside. Was it repaired? Or did it manage to be untouched by a miracle.

There was a hatch that let to the basement of the building, a long winding staircase made of stone, surrounded by a wall comprised of rocks, sand, and wood.

The layout of the ruins was simple, yet highly dangerous because of recent events, several rampant groups of thieves and more. The walls around the city were heavily damaged, looking like they would drop to the ground from the top at even the slightest touch.

Large cracks ran around the entire wall on both sides, making for a creepy atmosphere inside the city. The sand covered the rooftops, and the floor. Crunching noises mixed with the smooth flow of sand made it feel like you were stepping on fragile bones in the middle of a shallow ocean.

The city felt and looked nothing like how it seemed from the outside, with it's vibrant colors of glistening blue, bright yellow, and it's wide array of bird species. Some birds were red and black, or orange, blue, yellow, and purple.

But on the inside, the city was motionless and desolate. How could anyone still live here after seeing it's ruined state? The building were all but beautiful, the interior was even worse, filled with sand, dust, and several disgusting creatures roaming about inside. The entire city was infested by venomous scorpions and vultures. The vibrant colors only belonged to the outside.

the situation wasn't as bad in Regalia, as it was in Tira. Though because of a ruthless dictator, the people from Tira, Regalia, and several other nations. Were enslaved, beaten, and forced to work until they dropped dead from exhaustion. A cruel punishment that nobody deserves, other than the ones who enforce it.

Because of this, many people tried to run to other nations, even if they had to survive on their own flesh to make it, thousands were reportedly, hunted down and killed on sight. Soldiers who acted as guards were posted all around the border of Regalia, and built a massive wooden wall that extended in a circle around the nation's border.

Several gates were set up for merchants to pass through, but other than that. Most couldn't escape once they were inside. Yet many still dared to make an attempt at escaping. The wall discouraged most from attempting to escape, as they valued their life more than their freedom.

Some were adventurous, and tired of having to put up with the work they were given, these people were mostly those if the upper lower class. Who didn't have to work as much as the rest of the general population, so they weren't watched over a lot.

They created underground passages, secret routes, established spies inside the ranks of the army in order to gather crucial information for their escape, however, many who tried to get into the ranks of the army were quickly found out, and executed publicly, as an example of what happens when you dare to go against your leader, Kuoka.

Few were lucky enough to escape, especially the old man, who Kuoka spoke to at the border. He only barely managed to escape to the border, after his entire team was wiped out by soldiers.

A man proposed an idea to Kuoka, asking him to establish a new kind of soldier, 'hunter' these hunters wouldn't hunt animals, but humans. They would chase down escapees to the border, and potentially even further beyond the border, just to capture and execute them.

But this idea was thrown away only after 2 days of it being active, because soldiers would kill their superiors, and run away to the border by themselves.

Soon, those who managed to escape, or were never found. Were named LO's, meaning 'Lost ones' as they were lost, and yet to be seen or found. And they were presumed dead by all who knew them. Severe punishments were also handed out to those who were related to Lost ones, as they were trialed under suspicion of having help them escape. Sometimes the punishment would be execution, were they found guilty.

After several cases of this were told throughout the people, nobody would dare to speak to anyone they didn't previously know as a close friend, or relative. The entire nation became silent. Nobody wanted to be potentially associated with an LO, punishments would not be execution if they were found to have spoken to an LO, but only lashes. Or beatings.

The country of Regalia, was soon named that way, after the siege on Regisvall. Kuoka was the one who came up with the name.
