Got hurt

"You dance quite well," Callum said in surprise. It was as if she had been trained to dance for years. Then again, he didn't know if she was or she was natural to this. All he cared about was to dance with her at this moment. It was a rare chance to come by.

Calliope resisted the urge to snort. She was required to learn dance from the age when she could stand on her feet. For the sake of her delicate feet, her father let her not learn ballet because he was of the opinion that because his daughter's ugly feet that would be the result of ballet dancing, he put her in all other prominent and graceful dance courses. Ballet could be put away as who would marry her if her feet started looking ugly.

"Were you fearing that I would stomp on your feet?" Calliope teased him as they danced. Any sane man would be worried about dancing with an unknown woman at a party. If her heels stomped on his feet, she dare not imagine the pain.
