Family Drama (3)

Justin stared at this grandfather before firmly saying "Get this through your head Grandfather. I will listen to what you have to say, you are my grandfather and I owe you that. I will also consider your wishes as to my marriage but in the end the decision will be a joint decision between the woman I marry and myself."

Justin stared at his grandfather who was glaring at him, with silence filling the room. At that moment, the ring of a mobile phone broke the silence, and Justin reached into his pocket, pulling out his phone as his grandfather shouted, "That should have been off, when you are with me."

Ignoring his grandfather, Justin answered the call listened to the other side before calmly saying "Thank you for letting me know."

Rebecca looked at him closely, and silence continued around the room for another minute before Justin said "That is correct. Move forward with those plans in twenty-four hours."

With that Justin hung up the call, stared at his grandfather and said "My apologise. I needed to take that call. But let me say a few things. My phone needs to be on, but I should have had it on silent. That was disrespectful of me to the family time. But getting back to our conversation. Grandfather arranged marriages will not happen. Your proposed bride for me, she is nice, but she has her own goals. She told me to my face, she is refusing an arranged marriage. She wants to find the person she loves."

"No way. Her grandparents told me she would be marrying you…"

"Grandfather!" came the firm loud response from Justin.

Justin tool a deep breath and said "I can see what is going through your mind. Do not go after her or her family. She intrigues me, and if she is willing, I would possibly consider pursuing her. But she is not, presently. As she told me, she agreed to meet me because her grandparents promised you that they would ensure that the two of us met. As she said, her parents wanted to secure her an appropriate marriage, because that is what they believe is best for her, but she has her hopes and dreams, which she viewed cannot be achieved by marrying at this time. She wants to study medicine and make a difference for children."

"That b*tch. You will be marrying her and that is that."

"Grandfather. Stop it. I would not be me, if I did not respect her choices, even though she intrigues me. She did, however, agree to allow me to pursue her and attempt to change her mind. If I can convince her to change her mind, then it will be the right thing for both of us."

President Fu-Gan, stared at his grandson, before attempting to reach around him to get to Rebecca, saying "Then you have made up my mind, she is coming with me, and will stay in the presidential palace until her birthday, then I will deliver her with the marriage certificate to Daniel Wu…"

"No!" shouted Rebecca.

Justin moved, while all the time keeping a careful eye on the presidential guards to protect Rebecca, saying "I understand I will marry at some time in my life. You want me to marry early, you convince your chosen bride for me that she should marry me. And do not forget, while you can make insistences as to our marriages, you still must comply with the agreement reached when you forced mother and father to marry with her cousin, you remained our guardian until we turned eighteen, but any marriage has to be approved by Country D's parliament, mine because of my position and Rebecca's as she will eventually become the King's sister."

"Screw that…"

Justin yelled out "Guards!" and in came running twenty bodyguards

Four guards moved close to Justin, surrounding him and Rebecca, before he calmly said "My grandfather's visit is over. Please escort him and his entourage from here."

"How…"

"Dare I grandfather. Do you not remember one part of the deal with the King? It seems that you have forgotten. This house, for my protection is a consulate, therefore is part of country D. You have no power here, you are simply an international guest. I have the right to remove you as I see fit. I generally do not do that, because you are my grandfather and I respect you, but you are angering me, and upsetting my sister, so I will use my power. Now you have two options, you can go at your own free will or I will have you removed."

"You would not dare."

"Not normally, but in this case I will, as Rebecca is upset, and either you or her, the longer this goes on will anger the other so much it will cause a significant incident. But I will promise you one thing, if you go freely, I will talk to her about her marriage."
