the cute apologize

he couldn't seem to tear his gaze away from the boy's eyes. He couldn't seem to find any way to pull himself away from Misaki.

After a few moments of them staring at each other, Akio realized that he needed to snap himself out of it, so he removed his gaze away from the brunette's eyes and looked up at Misaki's lips.

When Misaki noticed how far away the red head had gotten, he snapped out of his trance and pulled away. He rubbed the back of his neck nervously as he glanced downwards, "Sorry about that."

"No need to apologize, Misaki, I understand." Akio replied softly. He grabbed the last piece of toast and placed it on his plate before standing and walking towards the hallway that lead to the stairs. He walked down the stairs, his footsteps echoing throughout the house. Misaki followed behind the red head, his footsteps echoing through the house.

The two teens then entered the living room. They sat on the couch together. Akio turned his body towards Misaki and looked into his amber colored eyes.

"So what's your favorite color?" Misaki asked, a smile plastered onto his face as he looked at the red head.

"Blue, mostly blue and grey."

"Mine's green, too! Though sometimes it can get a little cloudy," Misaki said, laughing lightly, "But my favorite is definitely blue! It reminds me of a lake we used to go to on vacation. It was really fun."

"Sounds perfect for a lake," Akio smiled at the thought, "It sounds really relaxing, actually."

"Yeah…"

The two fell quiet after speaking for a moment, listening to each other. Both of them enjoyed the silence. Neither of them spoke and neither of them wanted to end the silence. The only thing filling the room was the sound of the ticking clock. The only noise that filled the air was the small noises coming from the TV as the show they were watching played.

After a few minutes, the two decided to speak again.

"Hey, Akio," Misaki spoke.

"Hm?"

"What kind of stuff does your family do when you aren't there? You mentioned your father's job earlier, so I figured you must work somewhere else, but… What are your parents doing? Are they still alive?"

"...Yes… Yes they are."

"Oh… That's good…"

"How come?"

"Well.. I mean, your father was never exactly great with relationships, but he still worked at the same company. I guess he doesn't talk to anyone anymore?"

"No... I guess not."

"Do you talk to anyone now?"

"I don't think so... Well, yes. But most of them aren't really interested in knowing anything about me. Most of them are just looking for some type of connection, you know?"

"Yeah, yeah, I get that. But you still make friends, right?"

"Of course! Why wouldn't I?"

"Just curious… You know, if things change, you might be able to start having people around more often than you're used to."

"That would depend on how long this lasts, and who this person will end up being."

"You'll find someone eventually, I'm sure of it!"

"Mmm…. Maybe…"

"Anyway, what do you wanna do for dinner today?"

"Uhm… How about curry?"

"Sure, that's nice."

The two spent the rest of the day enjoying the peace and quiet. After they ate dinner, they went back upstairs. They decided to play video games together for a couple hours until it got dark outside. Then, Akio insisted that he should stay over at Misaki's. They played video games and played some boardgames together. Eventually they decided to lay in Misaki's bed together. They talked about random things as well as watched movies. Occasionally, they would drift into a comfortable silence.
