Chapter 50: Chunin Exam Finals (3)

The next fight was starting.

Shino was selected to fight Kuroda, the guy from Iwa, this pair-up was very advantageous for Shino since they were both close-range fighters, and since Shino had a much more deadly form of close combat than Kuroda it seemed pretty obvious that Shino had the upper hand.

The two stood apart from each other, Shino as stoic as ever while Kuroda was sending him a glare.

The hand of the referee was waved down with a shout "Begin!"

Shino decided to take the offensive, his coat opened up revealing purple skin underneath, his coat was designed to function as both normal clothing and a cloak that could immediately be taken off so that he could effectively use his Rinkaku.

Kuroda started gathering chakra and rapidly formed a string of hand seals, the rocks around him started to break into smaller pieces as an armor of rock was formed around his body.

Since it was enhanced with chakra the rocks would not slow him down, instead they made him stronger than before.

Shino smiled, usually, his smile was hidden by the high neck cloak that he wore but this time he wasn't wearing it.

Naruto glanced to his side and saw that Fu had a small blush on her face, Naruto grinned and refocused on the fight.

Shino had reached Kuroda and started using the strong style to deal damage to Kuroda, while it wouldn't be that effective since the rocks would make the vibrations lessen it would still deal minimal damage to Kuroda.

Then something unexpected happened, blood started flowing out from in between the rocks.

Onoki frowned, seeing one of his prized Genin get injured by a Konoha shinobi angered him, after what happened in The Third Shinobi World War the entirety of Iwagakure started hating Konohagakure with a passion, this included Kuroda and Onoki.

Kuroda roared from underneath the rocks "You Leaf bastard!" his rage-filled voice shocked the audience.

Shino hummed in interest, "It seems they are not strong enough to immediately kill someone yet."

This seemed to put many audience members off, including Kuroda who felt a searing pain all across his body, it felt like his skin had started burning off.

Shino once again started attacking, the ninjas that were observing the fight paid close attention, many of them enhancing their eyes with chakra, they could see incredibly small insects penetrate Kuroda's Rock Armor through the various small cracks around the armor.

Those that could sense chakra sensed Kuroda's reserves go down by the second, while not by a lot Kuroda would only have enough chakra to last around 5 more minutes.

Kuroda roared as he gathered chakra into the surroundings, the earth in the arena started to liquefy and started to move to surround Shino.

"Earth Release: Mud Bedrock Coffin!" Kuroda shouted and the liquified ground started to rapidly surround Shino.

The liquified earth successfully surrounded Shino from all sides and started hardening, various cracking sounds came from the now hardened rock.

Kuroda laughed out loud as the rock armor crumbled from his body, "Is this all that Konoha ninja amount to? a simple jutsu is enough to take care of you?" He said with ridicule.

"I could say the same to you." A cold voice came from behind him.

Kuroda vomited a mouthful of blood as a kunai was stabbed into his chest from behind.

"H-how?" Kuroda's fear-filled voice asked.

"A simple Genjutsu is all," Shino responded coldly.

"The winner is Shino from Konohagakure!" the referee shouted as the medics rushed up to Kuroda.

The Tsuchikage was fuming, he had expected a lot more from Kuroda, but it was too late now.

"Bahaha! Tsuchikage-san, your Genin was quite disappointing, to be fooled by such a simple trick." the Raikage laughed out loud.

Onoki scoffed, "We'll see how yours fares against the Kyuubi kid." he said attempting to stay calm.

There was 1 more fight left, Karui and Naruto, Kumo against Konoha.

The two of them both jumped down into the arena and stood across from each other.

Karui sighed, "Man this sucks, I get to fight the most problematic one of you all!" she complained.

Naruto chuckled "Don't worry, I'll try to hold back." Naruto said teasing Karui.

Karui got pissed off and was about to shout at him but the referee cut in before she could.

"Begin!" The referee shouted.

Naruto immediately put his game face on, he decided to put emotions aside when on missions, and this was practically just like a mission.

Naruto pulled Samehada off his back while Karui pulled out a sword of her own, though it seemed a lot less impressive in front of Samehada, while the audience had yet to realize that the weapon was actually Samehada.

They dashed at each other and their swords met each other in the middle, Karui quickly had to dodge as Naruto's strength combined with Samehada's weight made it impossible for her to push back against them making any close-range fight quite dangerous for Karui.

Naruto slashed out and Karui dodged, Naruto was holding back since he wanted to give Karui a chance to show off a bit, if he took her out immediately she wouldn't even get the chance to become a Chunin, and since he was friendly with her he didn't mind holding back to fight her.

The two both showed off impressive Kenjutsu and Karui showed off a few lightning ninjutsu which she combined with her Kenjutsu making quite a few dangerous combos that would have been hard to avoid if it had been anyone else other than Naruto.

She even showed off her quite sizeable chakra levels, while nowhere near Naruto's they were definitely already on the level of a Chunin.

She showed that she had a great mind for making up plans on the run and showed considerable strength.

But in the end, she couldn't compare to Naruto, after around 15 minutes she was too tired to fight and decided to give up.

"I give up!" She shouted as she sighed in exhaustion.

The referee nodded in approval and announced Naruto as the victor.

The third round of the exam would now start.
