Chapter 12

POV Tanya

After all the carnage that happened inside the church we decided to go out the back door since the front was full of the infected.

Walking into the cemetery I hear Jill call out from behind me "We need to find somewhere to stop for a moment."

Only to hear the reporter say "Uh-uh I don't think that's a good idea there might be more of those things."

Alice then replies with "If there were more we'd have seen them by now."

Sensing movements underneath our feet I refrain from letting them know since I want to know how this will play out. Alice is infected but why is the infected targeting her and not me?

"So you know what they are?"

"They're bioweapons from the umbrella labs underneath the city."

"How come you know so much about umbrella?"

"I used to work for them."

"Ughh! Damn it!"

Seeing the black guy nearly fall down due to the wound on his leg

Alice ends up pulling her gun out on him.

Causing Jill to pull her gun on Alice and say "Hold it! What do you think you're doing?"

"He's wounded, the infection is spreading."

"I'm fine."

Leaning on a grave I decide to wait it out while they decide what to do with him.

"You should take care of him now, it'll be more difficult later. You know that." Alice says while looking towards Jill.

"No, if it comes to that, I'll take care of it myself."

"As you wish, it's nothing personal. But in an hour, maybe two, you'll be dead.. and moments later you'll become one of them.. You'll endanger your friends, try to kill them, probably succeed.. I'm sorry. That's just the way it is."

When all of a sudden a pair of hands grabs the reporter from the ankles causing on her to fall down screaming.

Alice swiftly kicks the infected's head.

Deciding to watch how this plays out I sit down on one of the graves observing them fight the infected in hand to hand combat.

Realizing I never tested my spiritual pressure in this world I decided to test it out on one of the infected.

Using my spiritual pressure I cause one of the infected to explode into a mass of blood and guts on the ground.

"Ooops." I shouldn't use my spiritual pressure in this world unless I need to kill someone or something.

Making a mental note of this I hear Alice call out "There's too many of them! Let's get out of here! This way!"

Following them closely behind we get away from the infected that kept coming from the ground.

After a few mins of running we finally lose the horde and start walking once again.

Walking next to Jill and Alice I hear Alice say "What are you staring at?"

Causing Jill to say in response "I'm not sure, what made you want to work for umbrella?"

"Girls gotta make a living."

"Those were some pretty slick moves back there.. I'm good, but I'm not that good."

"You should be thankful for that."

"What do you mean?"

"They did something to me, I barely feel human anymore."

Jill then looks towards me and says "Is it the same for you?"

Causing me to reply with "No, me and Alice aren't the same."

"What do-"

Before Jill can finish asking her question a phone nearby rings.

Alice then says "We should keep moving, before the sound attracts anything."

Before they can walk off I end up answering the phone only to hear

"Hey sweetie, may you put on an adult for me?"

"First off, I am not your 'sweetie' and I'll have you know I-"

Before I can finish saying what I wanted I end up crushing the phone in my hand.

"Ughh, why are these devices so damn fragile?!"

Looking towards the others I get odd looks from them all.

"What are you all staring at?"

Before they can answer another nearby phone starts to ring.

This time Alice ends up answering the phone.

"Hello?"

Watching Alice converse with the man on the phone was quite boring so I decided to use my senses to scout our surroundings.

Not long after Alice then says to all of us "Lets find shelter for the moment so I can explain everything."

-Authors Note-

Apologies for not posting anything the past few months. The laptop I was using to write got stolen and I lost all my files with it. I wasn't able to buy another until recently.
