Chapter 21
POV Tanya
After an uneventful night, the convoy all packed up for the ride to Vegas.
Alice somehow managed to convince me to grab a walkie-talkie for the ride there.
Since I would be on the roof of the truck unable to communicate with them without it.
-a few hours later-
We finally arrived in Vegas, if you can call it that.
With no undead walking around, it looked empty.
With the memories of the countless people that have been here, I took out the walkie and said "If your looking for gas, there's a gas pump in the valet parking at the Casino which includes a truck stop."
Only to hear the guy driving the truck below me say through the walkie "I don't know how IN THE HELL you would know that, but alright."
Driving towards the stop, we notice a shipping container blocking the path to the gas pump.
After a few moments, we all come to a stop close to the container.
Getting down from the truck, I start to walk towards Alice and the others.
Arriving close by, I hear Claire call out to everyone that can fight "Spread them out! We're gonna have to move it… Alright, Chase, I need a lookout! Up there!"
She ends up pointing towards the tower nearby.
After a few moments, we gather up in front of the convoy while a few others scout the surroundings.
Without wasting a moment, I use my spiritual pressure to scout the surrounding area.
Realizing that this was a trap, I decided not to warn the others and see how Umbrella will react to me intervening in their plan.
A second later, I hear Claire say "Let's get this done.. and get the hell out of here. Mikey, get the wench."
While this was happening, Alice moves up to the door of the container.
Putting her ear to it, she looks back and says "Wait."
The people nearby start aiming their weapons towards the container.
Not even a moment later, she yells "Get back!" While backing away from the container.
Shortly after, the door falls to ground revealing a long dark container.
Once the door opened, a bunch of running infected started to come out in large numbers causing everyone to start firing their weapons at them.
During the initial fight, a bunch of the infected started spreading out causing chaos to the whole convoy.
With everyone running around trying to defend themselves, one of the infected ran up to me and just started to growl close to my face.
Before it can do anything further, I grab it's neck causing it pain somehow.
Slicing its head off, I decided to devour it right then and there after realizing that it was a different kind of infected.
As I devoured the infected, I called out a few of my shadows beasts that I got recently to help get rid of the infected.
'After this, the convoy will owe me not once.. but twice.'

-3rd person-
While Tanya devours the new infected she came across, a few of her shadow beasts was moving around and killing the infected that was attacking the convoy.
Unaware that they were Tanya's, they started shooting the beasts as well.
Regardless if they shot at them, it caused no damage to the beasts and they just ignored the bullets.
-In a different location-
The Dr and his subordinates observe Project Alice and the convoy through her eyes.
Waiting for the right chance to move in and capture her.
Unbeknownst to them that Tanya has already found their location.
-a few mins later-
While most of the chaos has subsided, the convoy realized that the beasts were helping them and stopped shooting at them.
During this time, Alice still hasn't been shut down due to Tanya's intervention.

POV Tanya
After devouring the new infected I came across I start to feel myself mutate even further.
Unaware that the shadow beasts were mutating as well.
Instead of reveling in the feeling of getting stronger, I send out another pulse to check on the convoy and if Umbrella has made any moves as well.
Sensing that most of the convoy has survived with only four casualties is pretty impressive with minimal intervention on my part.
With a few stragglers left, most of the convoy grouped up and started to protect one another
While they managed to bring order to their surroundings, my beasts started to eat the bodies and kill any stragglers that come close to the convoy.
Sensing that Umbrella has yet to move from their spot, I start to move towards them.
Arriving close by in a second, I use my magic to make myself somewhat invisible to the naked eye.
Sensing Alice surprisingly run towards our location with an infected straggler following a bit behind her.
I get on top of the roof of the stairs overlooking the parking garage they set themselves up on while Alice runs up the stairs below me.
After 10 seconds, Alice busts through the door below me and starts to fast walk towards the tent.
The moment she gets in the tent and starts shooting, the infected that followed her comes in through the door.
During this exact moment, I noticed someone in what looks like a greenish brown outfit run out of the tent and head towards the helicopter that had already started up as soon as Alice bust through the door.
Not realizing that he attracted the infected close by, he starts to slow down a bit causing the infected to catch up and bite him on the arm.
A second later, the infected gets shot and Alice busts out of the tent facing towards the helicopter.
She starts moving slowly in the direction of the helicopter with her guns locked onto it.
Shortly after it starts to fly off, I send a shadow crow in the air to follow it and scout the way there.
Seeing K-Mart join the party, she starts to run towards Alice who just aims her weapons at the helicopter that had already taken off.
In less than a second, I appear next to them while still invisible.
While they are both unaware of my presence, I hear K-Mart say "Why didn't you shoot?"
With Alice rapidly responding "Because we aren't gonna drive to Alaska, I want that helicopter intact.. Also, didn't you see that bird? Tanya already knows where it's going.."
Revealing myself right next to them, I ask "So, how did you know where Umbrella was Alice?"
Which jump-scared K-Mart making her run behind Alice.
While Alice herself quickly drew her weapon and aimed in my direction.
A second later, Alice quickly puts her weapon down as says "Damn it, Tanya.. Please don't do that again.
Alice's reaction was quick as usual.
K-Mart's on the other hand is what surprised me the most.
'Hmmm, to be able to react as nearly as fast as Alice is pretty impressive… Let's keep testing her, she might be useful in the future.'
As I was thinking this, K-Mart asks while a bit frightened "H-how did you that?"
Looking at her in the eyes, I giggle a bit before saying "Ohhh that? It's a secret!"
While Alice roles her eyes at what I said, she looks at K-Mart and says "Don't bother asking about her abilities, the only way to know those.. is by joining her.."
I giggle a bit more before saying "Bingo!"
K-Mart starts thinking for a second, she then asks "What do you mea-" before she can finish her sentence Alice interrupts her by saying "Don't.. it's not worth it.. you still have a life worth living.."
Only for K-Mart to take a step back and say to Alice in tears and anger "What do you KNOW about my life?! Everyone I KNEW from before?! Are DEAD!? At least with HER! Maybe the PEOPLE around me will stop DYING!!"
Causing Alice to look down for a second before apologizing to her.
"I-I'm sorry K-Mart.. I should've have said that.."
Meanwhile I'm in the background finding all of this amusing.
I start thinking to myself 'She just planted the seed unknowingly.. Making my job to recruit her so much easier!'

I apologize for taking awhile to post this after my update. I wanted the writing to be a bit better than when I first started off! :) I hope the updated writing style works for you all!
