Chapter 2: School System

As soon as everyone was done taking their tests, they were all teleported in front of a giant building. The building was white in colour, with drone flying around it. The gang of teenagers couldn't help but awe at the structure. Although most of them were from wealthy families, the same couldn't be said for the rest.

'Damn is this a school or a hotel?!' Joey yelled in his head. In all his life, other than in television, he had never seen such luxury.

"Alright, everyone, gather around!" General Blood voiced out. He was standing in front of two giant metal doors, tell entrance to the building, as henaced the new students. Truth be told, no one was looking at him, let alone sparring him a glance. All they cared about was seeing the inside of the building.

Shaking his head, General Blood didn't know what to expect. They were kids after all.

Clearing his throat once again, he started his long, boring speech.

"As you already know, you all are our hope of winning the war against the werewolves. You are our hope for a better tomorrow. And kost importantly, it is your duty to protect the earth. Now, let me debrief you on the nature of the school."

General Blood then went on to tell them their schedule and the various extracurricular classes they coild choose from.

This being their first year I'm military school, they are labelled as first year students. During their first year of school, they are meant to attend regular classes and atleast two extacurricular activities once school is over.

The extra classes they could choose from were Abilities Class, Fightening Class, Magical Weapons Class, and Online Gaming.

Other than these, they all had to attend what was referred to as 'enlightenment class'. A class where students are trained military procedure as well as the do's and don't in military etiquette. Basically, it's a class where force teens tk be something they're not.

Finishing up with his speech, General Blood was handed the same holographic tablet he was given before by Ashley.

"Before entering the academy, you all have to pick which extra classes you will be attending." He said in a stern voice.

Joey found everything that was happening unbelievable. It was clear that nobody wanted to here, but still they made it seem like they longed to be here. They were only ogling at the building because they loved shiny things, not because they actually wanted to be here.

But what could Joey do about it. It's not like he had the money or the influence to have a say in the matter.

The same thought ran through the heads of everyone else.

"Hey, why the fuck do I have to do this shit now?!"

"This isn't fair! Shouldn't we be given to to make the choice?!"

"I agree! Thisnis bullshit?!"

The students aired their views, completely disregarding a fuming General Blood. Someone even started walking away from the group, but stopped, when a kick connected with the side of his head, sending him crashing to the ground. He was knocked out.

Everyone was startled by the sudden violence the military were displaying towards them. Why was the military acting like this? They only wanted more time to figure out what class they woukd attend so they wouldn't make a decision they would regret later. What was wrong with that?

The one who landed the kick was the driver, known as Chris Black. When looking at him, one could see he was as slender as a stick. But the kick he delivered... All the students touched of touched the side of their head, as if psychically feeling the pain the boy felt.

"Does anyone have any problem with this?" General Blood asked with a mocking smile. He always liked it when people obeyed his instructions to the letter. It gave him a sense of satisfaction that no drug could provide.

Reluctantly, the students started coming forward to select their classes. The first to do so were the first group that took the tests, since appeared to be the boldest among the rest.

Since Gerry had the lightening ability, he decided to select the elemental class, since it was the common sense way for him to improve his lightening ability. The same was the case for Koe and Ellie who both had the

Things became tricky when Joey went select his class. He didn't have an ability, and he wasn't good at fighting or using weapons. He never even enjoyed gaming. Joey wanted to take his time to think hard about which class he would attend, but that was it. He didn't have the luxury of time. And seeing the nasty scowl on the General's face, it was clear he couldn't negotiate with him.

With a deep sigh, Joey decided to pick what he thought would be best for him.

"Hah! Can't wait to see you get beat up on your first day!" General Blood said with a loud cackle.

Joey had selected the Fighting Class. Since he needed to protect himself in the cruel world of school, and not having any ability or a Improved Power Level, he assumed this was the best choice for him.

Then Maya came next. Not having an ability just like Joey, she casually forwent the Abilities Class. Now she was torn between three options; Gaming, Fighting, and Weapons. Being a girl who loved justice while at yhr same time violence, Maya loved tge adrenaline rush one would get when in a life or reath situation. And so, she picked what suitee her best.

Donning an eerily calm aura, Lucas stepped forward to select his class. During the whole trip, Lucas had not talked to anyone. He would always be seen hands folded at the back of the group, only coming forward for something important. What was weird was he always had that subtle smirk on his face as if he was fantasizing about the girls in the group.

Tall, fair, and an aura that commands respect, there was always one class that would suit Lucas's personality.

After everyone was done selecting the class woukd attend, they were finally allowed ti set foit intobthe building.

As if setting foot intk heaven itself, the sweet new building smell wafted through their nostrils, making them feel like they were on cloud nine.

The boy whose Chris had knocked unconscious was swiftly carried to the clinic. Nonone even glanced or thougyt of him after he had been knocked unconcious.

{ Disclaimer: I'm not good at descriptions so bear with me }

As the groul walked through the giant building, they marvelled at the large space, the high tech robots here and there, and the design of the interior. All in all, it gavebthem that feeling like they were in a high tech battle ship ready for intergalactic war.

Arriving at a giant hall - like room, the general motioned fir everyone tobassemble as they did before. This time, noone tried to shift to the other line, which only satisfied General Blood's ego the more.

"You have conquered. You have perservered. You hard proven to me you are worthy of being called soldiers."

Cringy was an understatement for how everyone felt at the moment. Someone who just threatened their lives a few minutes ago is now here praising them for shit like perserverence and conquoring? Just whatbthe fuck wrong with him?!

At this point everyone turned a deaf ear to what the General had to say, but this time he didn't seem too bothered by it. He was too drowned in his own ego to care about what they thought about him, which only lessened whatever ounce of had left for him.

After a century of basking in his 'glory', the general finally came down to earth, but not with a proud smirk that won't seem to go away no matter how hard you smack it.

"Chris here will the boys over to their section, while Ashley will take the girls I to theirs. Under no circumstances should a boy be seen in or near the girl's section!"

Of course everyone knew he was joking about the last part. All the military cared about was having skilled and powerful youths who will help end the war against the werewolves. They couldn't care less if someone unimportant was killed or if an insignificant female student was raped at or off school premises. As long as it didn't affect their paychecks in any bad way, they had no problem with that.

Not wasting a single moment, the gang quickly split into two groups, following either Chris or Ashley or to their respective sections. No one wanted to spend a single second around General blood any way. It was bad for their mental health. Before going on to their respective sections, Maya and Joey met up to have a quick chat. After that that quickly split to catch up with their groups as they were ready for military and shit that comes with it. Well Maya was. Joey didn't know how the hell hebwas going to get by.

Moving at the back of the group, Joey decided if he was going to make it in militarty school, he had to have some connections.

"Hey, Lucas right? I was wondering... How are you so strong?" Joey didn't know how the words managed to slip out of his mouth. He couldn't say 'hi' or 'how are you?' It was his strength he had to ask about.

Joey wanted to face palm himself for being so direct with someone he doesn't know but stop mid way when Lucas suddenly stopped. Without looking at Joey, he simply said, "Guess I just train a lot."

'Train a lot? Train a lot?!" Joey question in his head to make sure he wasn't hearing things. Joey could smell that was an Improved, but for age...he was simply too strong. Joey was convinced that if he and the others that took the test were to gang up on him, he would easily beat them all up.

Joey wanted to epark upnmore conversation with Lucas, but he started walking again. He was simply too fast for Joey's noodle legs to keep up with.

Eventually, they had arrived at what looked like an endless hall with hundreds of doors in each side.

Pulling out a stack of ID cards from his pocket, Chris went on to say, "These ID cards show which room you belong to. Guard these with your life. We won't replace your's if it gets lost, broken or stolen unless you're from an influential family."

At this point it what he said didn't faze them. They had already been threatened with their life just twenty minutes ago. Impartiality was as normal as breathing to them.

They all went ahead and picked their ID cards. When Joey picked his, he saw the numbered 21 printed on it. Looking across the hallway, he could see the same number plastered on a door not to far from where he stood. Seeing the Lucas didn't give two rats about him, Joey decided to focus on himself for now. Clinging onto his Dragon Ball Super tailored luggage, he strolled down the hallway towards his room.

The ID was their means of gaining entrance into their respective rooms. without an ID card, it is impossible for someone to sleep in his or anyone else's room for matter. Even if someone else opens the door for someone, without using your own ID card, an invisible forcefield would instantly block you from gaining access to the room.

Upon entering his room, Joey noticed there were three beds instead of one.

"Fuck! So I have to share a room with a bunch of strangers?!"

Having never experienced boarding school in his entire sixteen years of life, Joey found his situation nerve racking in more ways than one. It wasn't that he hated people. He just valued his personal space more than anything...or anyone for that matter.

All the beds were even in size, meaning there wouldn't be any scufles when Joey's roommates arrive about who gets the bigger bed.

The room was quite large in size, white just like everywhere else, and had more than enough space for three teenage boys to crash for the school year. Each bed was set parallel to each other at the end of the room in front of the windows with three white giant wardrobes which were also equal in size placed at the free walls. Essentially it was more space than Joey needed, being someone who was raised in an F - ranked city.

Walking towards the nearest wardrobe, Joey opened it and placed his luggage inside. There were wardrobes inside the wardrobes and a flat surface on top for placing bags or important documents as well as a metallic rod fixed close to the peak of the wardrobe with hangers where one could hang their clothing.

Exhausted from the activities that transpired today, Joey was absolutely tapped dry of energy. All he wanted to do was crash on his bed and hibernate for the next thousand years but a constant voice kept ringing in his head when Joey tried to relax and sleep.

'School starts tomorrow at 8:00am sharp. Don't be late.'

Was the sacrilage spilled from the vile mouth of General Blood. It was already 8:12pm in the night. Is it a crime for someone to sleep till noon the next day?

However, Joey didn't have time to think about that. The room door was heard being opened, and two boys stepped in. One wearing street clothing while the other was built beyond belief.

"Well well. Guess this weakling's going be our new roommate. I can't wait to find out how durable he is." Gerry said, pounding his fist into his fist as sparks if lightening shot all the the room. Luckily, it was small enough not to affect anything.
