Chapter 25

The other side of me was now rebelling. Anyway, I couldn't get into this conversation. I didn't want to reveal any secrets to Vilas, although he seemed to be harmless at all, other than his eyes, his gestur, and his deadly smile. Oh, I had been daydreaming and looking at his face.

I hurriedly signaled to Vilas to stop dancing. Then I turned to face my guests who had been untouched for a while. Slowly I sat in my chair, and Vilas walked back to his place. I couldn't waste any more of their time.

"With this upcoming selection of a husband for me, I can't help but wonder, are we really good enough to be ourselves when it comes to choosing a mate?" I sat through the silence after the classical music for dancing was turned off. "I mean, what if our choices are wrong?"

The guests whispered to each other after hearing my very sudden question.

"Why are the four of you so convinced that I am the right life partner? How about I am not?" I said it carefully.
