Battle against Levia

Right now, I was facing an opponent that I may not be able to defeat with this clone body.

No matter how I assess her, it seems the skill is being blocked by her high mind stats. Gauging her, she's probably around level 300 or maybe even higher.

My eyes widen seeing Levia snapping her fingers. A black sphere expands outward faster than I can blink. It went passed through me until it occupied the environment to the point where I can see.

Using my [Universal Tome: Level 20] skill, I will analyze it.

[Spell name: Sphere of Authority: Determination Script.

Magic Type: Mental spell

Description: The written rules inside the sphere are absolute to its dwellers even to its caster.

Range: 1200 diameter]

Crap! Am I in danger? But I seem to be fine. I don't feel pain nor I have a curse.

[Condition: Healthy]

What's going on?

Levia is still nonchalant. "The battle has not started yet. This is the sphere of authority where our battle will be decided. I have given it two simple spells. There are two rules in this sphere, and these are; you won't die here, and leaving will automatically disqualify you."

I see, so if I leave this territory she automatically wins.

As we are about to start, we descended to the ground. We then face each other.

This is unfortunate. My body which is in the dungeon core is beyond the range of this sphere. Which means I have to defeat her with this body and some clones within this sphere.

"You're quite calm and not the talkative type, huh?" She says as I just think in silence.

"I have one question? What do you mean we can't die."

Her lips raises a malicious grin. "It's what it says, you and I cannot die while in this sphere."

She reveal her claws and slash her wrist effortlessly, sending her arm off to fly fountain of blood. Despite her act, she looks unphased.

It tells a lot about her tolerance in pain.

Several seconds later the arm regenerated as if nothing happened.

Using [Magic Sensing] I can tell the sphere healed her arm.

This is not a battle where we have to overpower each other, rather this is a battle of the mind. Until one of us gives up or leaves this sphere, there will be no winner.

But I will try and test the waters. Let's see how I will fare against her.

I aim my palm at her and then cast [Cursed Flames Level 20]. My cursed flames are already maxed, and since I have high tolerance even for a clone it will not damage my body.

What's more the output have been higher than before. I'll set it to max on my first try.

Casting the skill, dark flames the size of a hill which her body burst in flames and devoured her instantly. The explosion swelled up in size and occupied a third of the domain.

Dark smoke and debris covered the air. As it clears up I lock my sights on Levia. Using my [Divine Sights], I can peer through this curtain of smoke with no problem.

My [Ultimate Sights] has levelled up to become [Divine Sight]. I can see through walls, obstacle and even the see mana flow in the air or the body of the target.

For this battle, I will throw my strongest attack and make her come at me. Surely, that will irritate her and she'll come launching at me. I will be the one who will make her tired.

Only Levias upper half remains. Her face resurfaces as her skeleton and muscles are being regenerated, showing an annoyed look.

When her lips returns she speak, "not bad, but throwing your strongest attack is a gamble in the beginning game."

She's quite sharp. It seems she won't bite, huh. How about this?

I cast [Rocket Flame] spell and hitting her. It doesn't do much damage but the burnt on the skin will be more painful.

However, she just begins regenerating even if I burn her.

She then smiles. "Are you ready to give up now?"

It seems she succeeded in pissing me off.

I tried attacking in several ways but she will just stay unphased even if I will destroy her body. However, this is weird, Levia doesn't feel any pain.

When she shows no signs of feeling pain, I stopped, since I know this was for naught. I guess I'll have to observe for a while and see what she will do.

A few minutes has passed and nothing. We are just standing still.

Few hours passed, and both of us are just staring at each other. None of have taken a step or left our positions. She isn't attacking and so I haven't yet. So this is her game, huh?

She'll probably turn this into days, years or century until I give up. Well, she's not human after all. But I doubt that would be the case since to maintain this sphere she needs her mana.

I sigh seeing this is pointless. "Levia, should we just drop this spell? None of us are going to win at this rate. Regardless, I'm just passing the time. I have already won in this battle."

How odd, usually, she would just ask me to the give up but she is silent.

Using [Divine Sights], I assess any mana activity within her body. What I see surprises me.

Damn it! She was casting another high tier spell and she is almost done.

It looks like I have made a miscalculation. The few hours were we just stood still she was actually mumbling to cast a secondary spell. This one might be far more powerful since the longer it takes to cast, the more powerful and imposing it is.

Levia laughs maliciously as she chants the final lines of the spell!

[Sphere of Dictatorship has been casted]

An ominous sphere emerges around me. This one is smaller compared to the sphere of authority as it barely fits my size. I can't seem to leave it as it follows me where I go. Crackling dark electricity creep upon the spheres, giving an impression it's dangerous.

I use my skill to assess it.

[Spell name: Sphere of Authority

Magic Type: Mental, Dark spell

Description: The written rules inside the sphere are absolute to the target

Range: 1m diameter]

Both sphere may sound similar but there is an outstanding difference. This sphere is ridiculously overpowered and biased. It will only affect me unlike the bigger sphere which affects us both.

Levia raises her arm. There is a sign of victory in her eyes. "I'm gonna give you a chance. Give up now!"

As best as I can, I put up a confident smile. "I told you. I already won this battle."

"I see, well then I would like to hear your opinion an hour from now."

[Levia]

Sphere of dictatorship! The trump card of the high-level Galkin casters.

I could have cast this three times as fast if not for the mundane plane's deterioration effects.

Verni, when you gave up attacking and let me cast the skills, I already won. No one can break through this skill unless you can cast holy magic in which I doubt you can.

You are a great opponent. You were calm and smart. You live to your title as an overlord but I have to hurry and be freed from this dungeon, so I can find Melanie.

Melanie, I'll be there! Just wait for little more.

Once Verni got captured by the sphere, he seem silent and unbothered as I begin the first command. Does he still think he can win? I'm sorry but I'm the winner in this once I finished the last line of the spell.

Any rules I give it will implement it to the one who got caught in it.

As powerful as the Sphere of Dictatorship is, there are rules that I cannot give it. I cannot give a rule that the one who got captured to die, and I don't need to.

I just need him to experience pain that ignores his tolerance level. That means even if he has high tolerance, he will experience this pain as an ordinary human, since this sphere neglects his tolerance stats.

That's the power of the spell.

"Do it!"

The sphere does what it told and immediately, Verni's eyes whiten out with his mouth agape. He stand still like a statue unconscious from the severe pain that he experiences.

This will go for an hour and I hope he will still have the will to talk.

This spell was used to torture even the toughest enemies, criminals or spies. Only in few minutes they give up and only few seconds more minds have already crumbled.

An hour passed and there are no signs of Verni giving up. He just may be very tough or he's probably unconscious. However, if he is unconscious then the Sphere of Authority would already have declared me the winner.

I can't believe he is still holding on. It looks like I may have underestimated you but even then you are probably reaching your limits.

I'm in the same boat. This spell also eats my mana quickly. I need to take a rest and recover my mana.

I release it for a second. Verni with his agape mouth falls to the ground.

I pant as I speak, trying to be tough.

I have to show that I can do for days. "Verni, if you are gonna give up, now is the time."

It may take a while for me to regain my mana, I guess I'll have to---

Surges of current flow through my body.

Someone is behind me!

It can't be!

Looking over my shoulder, another Verni is there casting a lightning spell on my back. Damn it, I can't cast another spell to counter this!

I grit my teeth from the pain.

Verni chuckles maliciously, "it seems you can feel some pain now, huh? Levia?"

Huh?! There are two Verni? How is it possible? Then who's the one on the ground?
