The Guardian Saint of the High Court

[Fenna]

It seems the Guardian Saint have arrived in the Eastern Region. That was fast when we just barely left this area.

I have insect toys scattered across the area to spy for me. For a bird's eyeview, I have smaller bird toy as well. It's like a drone.

Using the skill, [Eye Transfer], I can project my vision to one of my toys. With my left eye sharing with the vision of one of my toy I can see the Saint Guardian flying across the Eastern Forests. It seems they sent Libra this time.

Libra, huh? He is the most proactive and the most diligent Saint Guardian. He has absolute views on justice especially since he follows the word for word laws of the church. He will obliterate kingdoms just to follow the words of the Northern Overlord.

My other spy toys also inform me that demonic army of creatures are marching west.

Transferring my vision to another spy toy, I can see an army of demonic cactus soldiers heading to the west.

Using [Scan], I am able to appraise them.

[Demonic Thorn: Level 80]

I estimate that there are 500 of them. Even if one or two of them were to reach a city, most adventurers won't be able to defend against these creatures. Only Class B and above are able to fight against these monsters.

Regardless, Saint Libra will crosspaths with the demons. I will finally get to see how he fights.

Someone yells at my ear. It's Leon, "hey, are you listening Fenna?!"

That rung my ears, I got annoyed so kick him on the leg causing him to fall on his knees. "Ugh!"

How noisy. I almost lost my focus.

Regardless, Saint Libra is now hovering over the army of demons. He is holding a balance scale and fills it with holy magic. "Looks like we have a lot of sinners today. Sinners, have you asked for forgiveness? If not, you shall burden your sin even into the after life."

Libra drops a coin on one side of the scale, causing it to tilt slightly.

"Heaven's repel!" Libra declares. The demonic thorns begins to feel heavy. They stop moving and they struggle just to stand.

"Hmm, not enough, huh?" Libra drops two more coins on the scale causing the scale to tilt more.

The demonic thorn army then gets squashed easily while also leaving a crater on the ground where they are on. No doubt, each one of them are dead.

Libra then adjusts his head into my direction as though he is able to see me through my toys. I get startled and cancel the skill. I take a deep breath and decided to take a break.

Regardless, the Saint Guardians are frightening even if they are on our side. Regarding his ability, he seems like he can manipulate the weight of his enemy with that balance scale. I would feel bad for the enemy that would have to face him.

[Velia]

I gulp seeing Saint Libra hovering above me, as though he is judging me. I put Ren down on my shoulder and stand up acting natural. "Oh hey, Libra. Just to tell you, I have absolutely nothing to do with all of this. It's the demons fault. I'm just gonna go. We cool right?"

I slowly tiptoe away. I hope he'll let me go. I have no time to deal with a Guardian Saint.

"Sinner, bring down that Holy Knight, I have a business with her."

I gulp and face him, acting scared. "Saint Libra, I'll bring her to you so can you please let me go?-- is probably you thought I would say, huh? Scumbag?" I smile confidently while coating my body with dark mana. "I'll make you pay for what you did to my master!"

I bring Ren down gently on the ground and intently stare at Saint Libra. I wasn't scared, I just thought dealing with him now is a pain but I can't abandon someone who helped me.

"I see, I remember you Galkin. You are work for 'him'. Looks like there is still some of you left. Regardless, I will clean another sinner of this world"

I snort in disgust. I can't forgive this fools for messing with us a long time ago. It's their fault why we are in this dire state.

I gather my dark energy as I am about to cast my mana.

I know that my opponent is formidable and I have no idea what his ability is, but I can't back down now.

"How pitiful that your centuries of struggle will only end with death because you came across my path." He drops a coin on his balance scale.

"You're quite a talker aren't you?! Even if you are a saint, I'm still one of the generals of an Overlord! I won't back down--"

I notice something is off. My body begins to fall heavy as though it is bringing me down to the ground. I fall on one knee as I struggle to stand up.

"You're finished speaking?"

This scumbag! I yell as I try to bring myself back up. He throws another coin on the balance scale again causing me to collapse on the ground. My weight has become so heavy that I'm pressing the ground and leaving a crater.

"Damn it, what is this ability?!"

I can't move a muscle. I can't even lift a finger. If this goes on my organs are gonna be crushed. I spit out blood as well.

That coin. It increases its intensity two fold the moment his coin drops on the weighing scale. I have to do something about this.

[Rendora]

Opening my eyes, I notice Velia is in a tight situation. I'm half awake and I need more time to recover my mana. Looking around, it seems she is fighting an angel---

His real name is Carniel Vayela.

What is he doing here? I have known him when I was training in the theocracy. He used to be a young and naive angel, but now he has grown up. Angels lived for as long as 10,000 years. He is now an adult in Angel years, huh? Have I been in that dungeon for a very long time?

That aside, I try to speak. "Carniel, wait, stop!"

Carniel stops what he is doing and faces his head into my direction. He takes the coin out of his balance scale and stops his spell on Velia. "Senior Rendora Falmer, I can't believe it's you. It has been a long time."

I smile a bit, it's quite nostalgic to see someone for a very long time. "You tell me, it has been an eternity for me."

"Hmm, it has only been 3500 years since then."

Only, huh? That's quite a long time.

"So you are now a Guardian Saint, huh? I always know you can make it."

Carniel nods slightly with a weak smile. "It's all thanks to you that's why I have come this far. I can never forget your teachings back then."

Angels live in the north of the Mezo Theocracy, the Heaven district. That's where the Northern Overlord dwells in the Holy Palace. It's citizens are people from the Angel race. Angels tend to be peaceful and uptight with their laws. Despite their powers due to their comortable upbringing and reclused nature, they can be easily wary of those from the outside.

Carniel was one of the angels who left the heaven district to train with us mortals in the Theocracy. That's where I met him. He used to be timid, sensitive and sweet as an Angel child, seeing him now, I can't believe he has grown up to be someone loooking strong.

"Senior Rendora, you taught me that the force of darkness will only give birth to sinners. More sinners will lead the world to chaos and thus destruction. I've always hold this philosophy dear for thousands of years."

However, right now, I feel something off about what he says. I taught him-- err no brainwashed him radical beliefs back then since I sincerely believed it, but after meeting Verni, Vermil and even Velia, it changed my mind.

Your magical propensity does not determine what kind of person you are. I mean I also have dark affinity magic. It's no different from a fire magic or water magic user.

"Carniel, I have something to tell you---" I grit my teeth since I have to deliver it in an unoffensive way. "Carniel--I don't believe every one who has cursed magic are bad person, that also goes the same for holy magic users are good people."

Did I made a bad move telling him honestly?

Looking at Carniel's expression, he shows a contorting frown, he is deeply disappointed. "I see--- so Senior Rendora is already dead. The Senior I know would hold the church belief's with her even into her tombstone. You are a fake-- just another sinner!"

"Carniel listen to me---"

"Don't speak my name so casually with your vile mouth. Also, I sense you have some essence of darkness in your soul, thus allow me to guide you to the afterlife with this judgement."

Despite his threat, I ended up laughing.

Carniel is confused why I did so, while Velia is more concerned. "Hey? Are you in the right moment to laugh?"

"Haha, I see, so I finally understand how people from back then view me. God, I was so crazy as a church fanatic. Regardless, I know for sure that there is nothing that can change his mind. I mean I betrayed my people for the church."

"That means you're just another sinner." He raises his other hand and summons a giant wooden hammer used by judges in court. "Holy Gavel." He pours it with holy power and swings it into my direction, shooting out a light energy shockwave.

That is fast! So this is his raw power, huh? I have to dodge quick!
