6. school organization

He told me what prayers to recite when dealing with ill-intentioned 'ghosts'.

"Hangga, are there many ghosts in this school?" I asked to be more careful when I was in the school environment.

"Yes, a lot. You are one of them. Wherever I am, you always show up," he teased. I know he's not serious about this.

"Because only you understand about ghosts, Hangga! Why are you so hard on me!" I said pretending to be annoyed. I went straight to class without paying attention to Hangga.

Well, as an expression of my annoyance. Even if it's just a drama that I made myself. Hangga has a pretty handsome face.

His posture is tall and proportional. Short hair, high school standard. His face is similar to Arifin Putra, the capital's artist. The difference is that Hangga, my friend, has a lively character, he can't stay still. If you speak out loud. But he's kind and won't have the heart if I'm in trouble.

                                ***

In the first lesson, I was even sleepy. But not long after, one of the upperclassmen came in and called several children in each class to attend the school organization meeting.

In my class, the ones chosen were me, Resti, Imam, and Ozan. We ended up not taking the first and second lessons. Reasonable. School organization meetings are held in the library. Many have come, and there is Beni too. We just looked at each other from a distance. But before long, I also saw my other seniors, Dwi, Adit, and many others whom I knew very well.

The meeting started and produced a plan regarding organizational activities at the school for the weekend, which would be held next week. Of course, there will be an overnight stay at the school. I let out a rough breath. Leaning on the back of the chair because he felt sorry for joining the organization meeting this time.

Automatically, my friends and I who attend the meeting are the ones who will attend the event, and must. I don't know why my eyes often focus on Beni. Because he's always been stealing glances at me. But the student beside him also looked at me, sarcastically. Even when Beni smiled at me, the girl pulled Beni's chin to look at him, and they were both engaged in conversation.

"How is it? Do you have any questions? Especially for the first-year representatives?" asked the head of the organization of us, the majority of whom sat in one place

I looked around, then steadily raised my hand.

"Yes, you? What do you want to ask?" asked the head of the organization pointed at me. I automatically stood up because I was sitting in the back.

"Sorry, is it okay if the representative from my class has added another member? Another class is five, even six people. Our class is only four," I protested while looking at the other class representatives.

"So what? It doesn't seem possible because the list has already been made," explained Evi, showing me a sheet of paper with small writing that I couldn't read.

"How about swapping with me? I can't seem to be able to come. The problem is that there is a plan for a check-up with the doctor, it's far away. It was an appointment ahead of time," said Ozan, who seemed to understand who I wanted to appoint to join this activity. Evi stared at Ozan intensely, as if she was disarming her statement which did sound dubious.

Ozan looks healthy and has never been heard of having an accident or anything related to his health.

"Yes, I have. But ask for a doctor's letter. Then who will replace him? Let me take notes."

 "Hangga. Hangga Putra."

"Okay. Ozan, please go back to class, and call Hangga here, okay."

"Okay, fine." Ozan got up, the smirk on his face visible. He looked at me with a wink. Outside the room, I could still see him walking backward laughing stifled, clenching his fists, and cheering silently. "Yes."

I know he doesn't like attending organizational events like this. So he's free to play and it's an advantage for me too.

Within minutes, Hangga came, he came in and looked at me intently. I only show the mainstay puppy eyes. It was a form of protest against me, for having plunged him into the activities of this school.

Indeed, not all students like school organizational activities. Many choose to be passive as students and students. They mostly don't want to be further involved in whatever is going on at school. For this majority, coming to school, being absent on time, and avoiding trouble is the greatest achievement. After the meeting was over, I walked back to class. Beni was suddenly beside me, walking with us.

"Will I be able to play at your house again?" he asked and ended with my friends coughing out loud. I glanced at them and glared at each one of them.

 "Um, don't be like that."

"Okay okay. It's okay. Oh, almost forgot, later I want to play ball in the field behind the school. Do you want to come there later? I'm waiting," he whispered, then walked faster, leaving me. I haven't answered his request yet. It seems that it is not a request, but an obligation.

"Hm, the world seems to belong to both, the others are guests," joked Hangga. Resti and Imam laughed in agreement. While I just smiled bitterly. "Eh, why is your face like that?"

"What's wrong with my face?"

"Why are you sad? Why? Aren't you supposed to be happy? It's rare for an aggressive guy like him. Even all the boys who have a crush on you, no one dares to approach you like him. Or... Do you not like him?" said Hangga with a question that made me think hard to find the answer.

"I'm not sure I'll ever be with him."

"You mean?" asked Hanga curiously. I just shrugged my shoulders, smiled, and took him to walk faster.

There's a question I'd like to ask the ghosts. Why are they always on the stairs? This time it wasn't the figure I usually saw. The shape of a man, with a large build, with fiery red eyes. It's terrible.

Automatically, Hangga and I stopped walking, looked up, where the stairs in the middle were filled by a large figure. "What is it?" asked the Imam.

"You don't seem to know them, Imam!" said Resti.

"Shhh. Don't say anything reckless!" said Hanga. I gripped his arm tighter. Looking down and closing your eyes, even if not close. At least I can't fall while running later.

Hangga gave the command to return to walking. Slowly but surely, we started to get closer to the creature. As it was about to pass, the creature growled. At that moment, my heart was beating even faster. My grip is getting tighter. For some reason my body is getting heavier, I can't support myself with both legs. As a result, I slumped, falling to the floor. Hangga's voice sounded faint, calling for Resti and Imam. Footsteps were running around me, and I felt someone take my body away.
