Start of another Lie

///// Sorry for the late upload, everyone! I just had Root Canel Treatment. It was for five days but due to some unfortunate events, it has extended to another week. So, I might not be able to upload more chapters. Because of continuous pain, I can't think properly and I don't want to write just whatever to fill the chapter.

"So, Xuan Village has chosen a child as their village chief. Interesting! If I am not wrong, they are the only village who didn't have Village Chief, right?" A middle-aged man stood in front of the window and spoke. His eyes were staring out of the window.

He was nearly six-foot-tall and had a bulky body. His facial tone was brown and he had a huge black cloak covering his body. He was in the village of Yellow Stone Village, Pu Zhen.

Behind him, there were three people sitting on couches and a person kneeling on one knee. This person was none other than Shin. He raised his head and spoke "Yes, Village Chief! Xuan Village has been living in harmony and peace, so they never selected the Village Chief."

"It is confusing that they choose a child to be their village chief. I feel like something is missing here."

"You want to say that it is not them who chose him rather he is the one who forced them?" Pu Zhen slightly turned around and asked with a troublesome look on his face.

Shin slightly lowered his head and spoke "Village Chief, Gu Tan is not only the son of Gu Chen but also awakened Ninth Rank Martial Soul alongside four other children. And, as soon as he awakened Martial Soul, he became the Village Chief and also captured his uncle for betraying the village with the help of his father."

"Hmm! Your point is indeed valid. It could be the scheme of father and son. But from what I've heard, Gu Chen isn't interested in ruling or controlling. This is why he didn't even become the Village Elder and supported his brother instead. So, why would a person like him choose to go against his brother and also make his son village chief?"

"It doesn't add up. When a wolf sees the meat in front of him, he won't wait for long. He will only wait for the opportunity. He had that opportunity but he declined which means he is not a wolf. But, your words do make sense. After all, elders won't be idiots to hand over the village to the child unless the child convinces them."

"But, how? How could a ten-year-old child convince the elders? You missed something, Shin. You missed something. But, it's okay. We can find out tomorrow. Go and tell Captain Youko to bring them to me tomorrow. And, also keep a proper eye on them."

"Yes, Village Chief!" Shin slowly stood up and left the room. Inside the room, Pu Zhen remained with the other three people.

"So elders, let's continue our previous conversation." Pu Zhen turned his head at other elders and spoke.

Three of them were middle-aged men wearing black robes like him. One of them raised his eyes and asked "Shouldn't we talk about Xuan Village?"

Pu Zhen shook his head and said "There is no need to worry about Xuan Village. More importantly, we do not even know what they want to talk about. So, instead of wasting our time guessing their next moves, let's just talk about something that we need to."

Hearing his words, three elders nodded their heads and their discussion continued.

On another side,

Gu Tan was still touring the Yellow Stone Village with his father. This place was quite big and while moving around, he noticed a bunch of different things. Many of them were something that he was unfamiliar with.

This made him once realize just how much he and his village lack. Although there was harmony and peace in his village, the development wasn't that big. As soon as he walked inside the market, he noticed a bunch of different shops.

And, then he noticed some of them weren't even produced in their own village. In fact, many of those are imported from outside and sold here. His village mostly relies on the things they produce. Although it wasn't bad, it wasn't something that would push the village towards development unless you started making things that others makes in the exact same method.

But, it is currently impossible for Xuan Village since it doesn't have many resources. But, Gu Tan has already planned to do what he can do. Although he doesn't have much knowledge about this, he is willing to use what he learned in his previous life.

'Hush! I didn't expect to continue in the journey of lies. Monks aren't supposed to lie but I guess crazy monks can. But, first, I need to make my lie as true as it might seem. If I am not wrong, some of the monks went to one of the villages to cure a disease that took the lives of an entire village.'

'And, that wasn't the first time that disease has appeared. Pu Zhen might not directly believe it but I have to make him believe it. Hmm! Maybe I should extend the time gap to four years and also burrow a large number of medicines to make it seem like I have a cure for it.'

'But, if I make a claim that I can cure this disease and if the situation changes and forces me to cure it, my lie would be caught instantly. Lies are the most vulnerable things. If not told carefully, it can easily be caught. Wait…. I do remember the symptoms of that disease, right?'

'And, even though I am not an alchemist, I have some knowledge about the medicines due to my days inside the sect. I almost forgot about Ace's existence. If a new disease is found in the world, Alchemist works together with Sages to create the cure for it.'

'I have the knowledge of medicines and Ace can do the job of sages. She can analyze everything. I should ask her.'

'Ace, can you scan through all of my knowledge about medicines and find a cure for Burning Skin Disease?'

"I can. Would you like to find a temporary or permanent cure for the Burning Skin Disease?"

"Permanent!"

Suddenly, a screen panel appeared in front of him with the option of yes and no. Gu Tan raised his hand and clicked on yes though he did it quickly. He didn't want to show that he was distracted by something that others can't see in the middle of the road.

[Estimated Time: 3 Years... 7 Months….. 12 Days….. 9 hours and 23 Minutes....]

'Well, it seems my guess was close. Taking four years break from the world, I can develop my village well. But, there would be one problem. I need to make sure that the spies who enter the village during those four years will be convinced that my village is suffering from Burning Skin Disease.'

'...…. I guess I need to enter the forest after returning to the village. Though there are supposed to be High-Rank Monsters in the forest. Low-Rank monsters can easily fight against the first stage to third stage Tiger and Dragon Realm Cultivator. Middle-Rank Monster can easily fight against the fourth stage to sixth stage Tiger and Dragon Realm Cultivator.'

'And, High-Rank Monster can easily fight against the seventh stage to ninth stage Tiger and Dragon Realm Cultivator. I can't take too many people from the village. My best chance would be to take dad with me. And, I guess I can also take Lee Che. I will help dad improve his cultivation to the eighth or maybe ninth stage before that.'

'Lee Che was at the sixth stage. After returning, I should give him a task to find some resources that could enhance his chances of awakening Fire and Metal and also boost his cultivation to the eighth or ninth stage.'

"Village…. Are you listening?" Suddenly, his dad's voice startled him as he quickly turned around. He found he was thinking too deep even though he tried his best to stay alert. Suddenly, his soul trembled slightly.

"Someone is tracking you." Long Hua's voice rang in his mind.

'I know. They wouldn't say quietly. But, keep your senses on them.' Gu Tan replied and turned his head towards his dad.

"If you are going to think too deeply, how about we book the room in the hotel and stay there?" Gu Chen spoke after seeing his son falling deeper into his own thoughts.

Gu Tan thought for a while and nodded his head "Yes, let's do that! And, dad, I have something to talk to you as well."

Gu Chen nodded his head and both of them left towards one of the famous hotels in Yellow Stone Village. Since his dad has visited this place, he left it to his dad and finally they booked a room for three days.

As they walk inside their room, Gu Tan spoke 'Hua, can you create a soul sound barrier?'

"But, that would cost a lot of soul power." Long Hua didn't agree immediately.

'Don't worry, I have a technique to use your soul power more effectively. My master always taught me this. Never waste energy.' Gu Tan answered with a chilling smile on his face.

"Shouldn't it be Never Waste Food?" Long Hua asked with confusion.

'Whether it is food, spiritual qi, or elemental energy, everything provides us energy! That's why we should never waste our energy and use it effectively. Now, pass me some of your soul power!'

///// I will try my best to recover quickly and write more chapters. As for title change, I feel like this book is more inclined towards Kingdom Building than dual cultivation. So, I feel like this new title suits his journey even more.
