A True Alchemist

"Are you alright?" Pu Zhen asked when he saw Gu Tan wrapping his head and lowering down.

His words startled Gu Tan. He immediately removed his hands and raised his head. He made a serious expression on his face and spoke.

"Thank you for your advice!"

"Hahaha! It seems my feelings were correct. Don't worry, you will do just fine if you don't force love. Remember, just because you love her doesn't mean she will love you. And, just because she loves you doesn't mean you will love her. So, until both of you truly fall in love, don't make any commitment."

Pu Zhen laughed at first but his expression got serious the next second as he spoke. Gu Tan nodded his head seriously and a few seconds later, Pu Zhen asked.

"So, who is the girl?"

His words instantly made Gu Tan blush as he glared at Pu Zhen who kept laughing at him. Pu Zhen continued to tease him. After a few minutes, Captain Youko arrived at the door with a few more guards holding huge bags.

They entered the house and put them next to the table. Captain Youko turned at other guards and spoke "You can leave now!"

Those guards bowed to Gu Tan and Pu Zhen before leaving the house. Pu Zhen slowly stood up and took a pouch in his hand. He stretched the mouth of the pouch and put the mouth of another bag on it. It was the bag full of Spirit Stones.

Slowly, the bag which was full of spirit stones emptied as the pouch remained in the same size. Pu Zhen turned his head at Gu Tan and spoke "This pouch can store up to fifty thousand spirit stones."

Gu Tan nodded his head and Pu Zhen and put the bags of Dragon Rice on it. This time, he puts the entire bag on it.

"What about these?" Pu Zhen opened the bag which continued ten fruits and a small glass jar filled with Silver Mercury Essence."

"The jar won't break, right?" Gu Tan asked.

"If this pouch falls to the ground several times, then it might break but if you keep it safe then nothing will happen." Pu Zhen replied.

"Good then! Just put it inside." While saying so, Gu Tan stood up. Pu Zhen puts the bag inside and passed it to Gu Tan.

"So, what do you plan to do now? Do you want to leave right now?" Pu Zhen asked as he returned back to his seat.

"I do have something to buy. I think we will leave tomorrow." Gu Tan said while putting the pouch in his pocket. Since he was wearing white pants and a shirt tied with a belt. He puts the pouches inside his shirt.

"Do you want Captain Youko to show you around?" Pu Zhen asked.

"Nah! I like to explore your village on my own. I have a lot to learn and it would be a good experience." Gu Tan shook his hand and slightly bowed before leaving. Bowing is a courtesy shown to the elders or seniors.

Even though both of them were village chiefs, Pu Zhen was elder to him and he also earned his respect.

"This kid!" Pu Zhen smiled and turned his head at Captain Youko.

"Tell everyone monitoring him to return! And, also announce the alliance between Yellow Stone Village and Xuan Village to everyone. I don't like to take chance. I want to get everything without risking anything but sometimes we have to take some risks."

Captain Youko bowed to the Pu Zhen and left the house. After a few seconds, his wife walked near him and sat next to him. She placed her head on his shoulder and spoke

"Aren't you being too friendly to him? Even though he is a kid, he is still a Village Chief."

"My grandfather taught me something before his death that I can never forget. He said 'We can't control our fate but we can change it. There will be a series of events that can play a vital role in changing our fate. We just need to take a risk and leave everything to our luck.'"

"He might be a kid but he has enough knowledge to make him a Village Chief. As a child, he earned the love and respect from the entire village and when he got the chance, he took a step forward to use that love and respect to become a village chief."

"Whether it was all a coincidence or planning, that kid is one of the events that can change our fate. And, if we are lucky, it will change for the better."

He wrapped his arm around her and kissed her forehead. His wife lowered her head and asks "Do you hate me for behaving like that in front of others?"

But suddenly, Pu Zhen lifts her head and implants a kiss on her lips. After a minute, he separates his lips and speaks "How can I complain after getting all this love and care from you? I love who you are. There is no need to change."

His words made her smile sweetly as she places her head on his arm and closes her eyes.

At this moment, Gu Tan wandered around the village. He found a few shops and bought some herbs. He also found some weapon shops but he didn't buy any weapons rather he bought some raw materials. Currently, he had two goals in his mind.

First, he must create a medicine that can heal Uncle Lee's Elemental Veins. Second, he must create a medicine that can awaken Lee Che's Elemental Vein. That's why he only bought raw materials. After all, Uncle Lee is a powerful blacksmith who can craft better weapons from the same raw materials.

He also bought some souvenirs for his mom, grandpa, Zhao Yin, Zhao Yin, and Yu Cao. After hearing Pu Zhen's advice, he wasn't sure what he should do. Whether he can abandon the dual cultivation technique or he can try his best to make Yu Cao fall in love.

He knew he was doing this for purpose but he decided not to think too much about this. After all, there are still eight years remaining before he can do anything. So, he wanted to give it some time. And, there are Zhao Yin and Zhao Xin.

He wasn't sure how much their interest will change and he wasn't even sure if he will ever love them like a lover.

After shopping for everything, he returned back to the hotel. He found his dad was already up and cultivating.

"So, did you finish everything?" As soon as he walked in, his dad asks.

"Yes!" Gu Tan nodded.

"So, we are going to leave now?" Gu Chen slowly walked out of the bed but Gu Tan quickly shook his head and said.

"No, we will stay here for today. We can leave tomorrow. By the way, take these while cultivating!" Gu Tan took out three roots from the Spatial Pouch and threw them at his dad.

"What are these? And, where did you get Spatial Pouch?" Gu Chen asked in surprise.

"Those are Reverse Element Tree roots. These trees produce a special fruit that can reverse the effects of any element. If it is fire, then it will never burn. If it is metal, then it will turn into gas. This is because their roots have a special energy pouch that can store a lot of energy which is required to reverse the elemental effect."

"Since it is just roots, it only contains energy. It will help you break through to the ninth stage. As for Spatial Pouch, it was given by Village Chief Pu. While you cultivate, I need to make medicine." Gu Tan answered while taking out a few herbs, Fiery Fruit and Silver Mercury Essence.

"Wait, you are an alchemist?" Gu Chen asked with surprise.

Gu Tan shook his head as he took out a small cauldron with three legs and a big box with a pipe attached to it. He also took out a burner and lit it up. While putting the herbs and fiery fruits, he spoke.

"I am not an alchemist but I do know the list of ingredients for the medicine I want to create. With the help of a burner and cauldron, I can vaporize the medicinal properties of these herbs and fruits. And, this pipe will suck the vapor inside this box."

"Inside the box, there is an Ice Talisman which has kept the box cool enough to turn the vapor into liquid and even liquid into ice. This way I can make pills while not being an alchemist."

"But, doesn't that literally makes you an alchemist?" Gu Chen asked with confusion.

Gu Tan shook his head and spoke "No! If I call myself an alchemist then it will be a disgrace to people who are willing to put their time and effort to learn the control of soul and flame in order to create a pill. Although this equipment and list of ingredients allow me to create pill, I am not an alchemist."

"With this many resources, I can only create two pills or a few milliliters of medicine but a true alchemist can create more than twenty pills. A true alchemist is a master of flame who can create pill out of any spiritual object between Heaven and Earth."
