The glow in Dinani's eyes disappeared almost as quickly as it had come, his eyes returning to their familar forest green, leaving Queen Heveneth wondering if she had seen it right.

"I know what I said, beloved. I know all I have said but this is not the time to bring my words to remembrance. I was weak hearted then, I could not see the truth for what it was." Lord Dinani said in a pained tone.

"Beloved, you have been the one in the right. The alliance is a threat to our domain, that unreasonable peace treaty that prevents us from seeking vengeance from the Sea Kingdom..." Lord Dinani's voice cracked at this point as though he could not bear to speak further.

Queen Heveneth's heart ached to see the pain of her mate, a pain that mirrored that which she felt.
