Interrupted (Ch.167)

"It is my inability." Askel said in a guilty tone.

The more understanding Zariah was, the more guilty Askel felt. He did not wish for his mate to understand anything, he did not wish for anything to prevail that would require her to understand even when it was unfair to her.

Askel would rather Zariah snapped at him, her calmness was even more terrifying.

"What has this to do with you, then? You may be King, but you cannot control the thoughts and will of others." Zariah reminded.

"And do not do that thing where you try to decipher my thoughts and if I am concealing how much I am affected by it while beating yourself up... just don't." Zariah added, knowing exactly what Askel was thinking.
