Prologue: Sudden Beginning

-February 28, Year 1901, Somewhere in the provincial capital city of Athenia-

_______________

In the beginning, there were only flashes of light and a ceiling. Then came along a soothing feeling of floating, a brief repose. There was warmth and a feeling of relaxation.

Before a chance to act and question the surrounding, it suddenly began shivering, and cold breeze. The winds touched the skin. Such was the feeling of the newborn child. Not that there was no time to realize the situation.

Covered in thick fabric and sole eyes roll around like a crystalised ball.

But the immediate assault of memories comes to life. Once a familiar city turns into a nightmare.

Images twist around, the first twenty-eight years of his life rendered in abstract transparency. The glimpse of home, lodged behind walls, and a couple of people whose voices are whispering inside its head. It felt blood parading around its veins through the fingertips. A hundred faces, some resemblance as clear as sunrises and others in little more than a blur vision - flickers of appearance and ad-hoc imagery. And yet more memories, all swirling around like a kaleidoscope of possibilities, hope and remorses...

They all coalesce into... this child.

After nearly a minute of blissful time, having finally regained absolute control of self, it was questionable and utterly illogical.

'What is this... Where am I? These people I don't seem to remember and the place I had stayed in. What's going on?'

So when its catalyst consciousness begins to learn as a child, it found itself to cries and shameful yet failed to comprehend why.

The next imagery of vision was absolutely confusing, not stupidly shocking.

'If memory served correctly, it should have been the main road surface.'

Yet after struggling to think of it, somehow inside a house that seems to be a western-style stone building, a sudden flash of sun rays touch such delicate face. A person that seems to be a woman opening the windows.

'If this was an infirmary then why I couldn't move my body.. Maybe the incident brings me here? Blurry vision seems to be the cause of it... and my injuries?'

The sudden approach of the person makes everything clear now as the vision fix itself. It could make out into a decent dress, yet the shadow generates into illumination. Seemingly, came from the elusive sun rays unless those images were not what they are.

"Leon, my sweet child... Good morning!"

At the same time, it notices a questionable lack of essential equipment and appliances close by. In the modern city of Tokyo, everything seems to be high class, but here in this moment, the place has devoid of technology and pieces remains of ancient...

'Are... Is this an old house? But... why? What am I doing here rather than be in the hospital?'

"Leon? Is my child hungry?"

The situation is harder to decipher. The confusion only dug its hole deeper.

"My child, come here. Won't you say the word 'Mama."'

'I don't understand, why? That was my issue here. That is why I didn't know what is really going on here... Wha-what?! Ho-how did you carry me? Hey now? By the way, who are you?'

But of course, the lady won't hear a thing or two. This was just the child's voice in its head and unable to talk. Never in the millions of years, it will say "Mama." Surely those words are meant to be brought out.

While this continuous thought had been swirling around, the mother finally drops the infant down gently. With a sweet yet beautiful smile that seems to be true and untainted, she begins to sadden her face as the child doesn't met her expectations.

"I thought you were a lively child but I was wrong"

It was a piece of toy that had been played into its little hands. But for a person in confusion, the movement only made things worse. In plain explanation...

'Wait, Leon.. Who is Leon..? Me?'

Thus, a giggling laugh from the depths of its chest made a sound of a cute little boy.

Unpleasant memories suddenly hits in...

Walking on a sidewalk beside a road as its surroundings was the most busiest hour of the night.

"Uh, Hello? Yes, darling, our son and I are nearing the place. We... Mhmm, Yes! Just passing by the main road."

An adorable little cute boy and a mother, just talking on its walkie-talkie—No, seems to be a modern phone. Flashing light from the edge of its skin. Between the cheeks and the object, a truck sudden approach the view.

What a blood light reflecting on the wet road. Traffic... lights that seem to be stagnant. A red light is still on display!

A voice of a man, on a clown sound from its chest. It shouts like a never-ending orchestra.

"Hey, kid!"

The reach of its hands galloped the thin air. Steps from its foot to a decent wore shoes splattered water around the place.

'Did I... Did... I... Manage to save the boy? What happen to me then?'

A sound of an engine raced through the heart of the person. The creak and crack of the flesh made sound on the thick object metal of the front.

An endless horn and voices of muttering reach the soul of the person lying on the flat earth. Blood trudged the hand of a military man. A clear rose-covered watery liquid tainted its old working hand. The looks of it and as the hand being raised, made a drop on its cheeks as the sound create a throb in its head.

'Is this the end? My days of being a part of the elite society ending here? My life seems to be disgustingly awful for a guy who is just alone in his quarters.'

The man thought his life would end here but...

'...So in other words, it's like... that... uh?... Am I dead?'

And for another thing, it doesn't matter whether you're a male or a female. It's obvious that it got the same gender as it was in the real world.

A little cute boy...
