Chapter 39

"Viviana!"Milady shouted happily as well.The two friends embraced each other for a while.Camilla saw what happened and how the girls had attracted some of the guests attention and decided to intervene.She moved closer to them and whispered softly.

"Girls you are attracting the guests attention.Why don't you continue with the getting together much later?"she whispered.The two girls broke their embrace and looked and the older but beautiful woman and smiled.

"It's fine...we are sorry ,"Milady mouthed and they all turned their attention to the young fiances Infront of them.

"Dear guests,am sorry for the young ladies's behavior....please let the party proceed,"Camilla apologized to the guests whose attention had been attracted to the two girls.Everyone turned their attention to the beautiful couples to be and the engagement party began.Michael was the one to bring the engagement rings since he was the brother to the groom to be.He did his role perfectly fine and brought the rings lying on a tray covered with a red cloth and the rings laid with pride between the red cloth.Max uncovered the rings and he picked one.He gently took Ammy's hand in his and carefully put the ring in her finger as the guests clapped loudly.It was Ammy's turn to put the ring on his finger.She raised her hand and reached for the ring.She took his hand in hers and put the ring on his finger and the guests applauded them.Max took Ammy's hand and planted a sweet kiss on her beautiful fingers that now one possessed a ring.Ammy smiled at him.As much as she was not happy that none of her friends were their to celebrate her day and neither was her sister nor mother, Max's warm gestures made her heart feel healed from the pain she felt.She got emotional and hugged him tightly as everyone one was clapping.Max kissed her on the forehead and hugged her back.Camilla smiled at the wonderful scene before her and she prayed that the marriage would come soon and they would be happy together.Maya,Milady,Vivan,Viviana and Miguel clapped so happily that their claps were heard louder in between the rest.

"You useless thing,you made no move at all and see that disgusting thing going on there,"Cynthia barked quietly at Emma who had just arrived.

"Excuse me aunt but I don't think am useless.I have tried all tricks but none worked.That silly nephew of yours is just head over heels with that bastard of a girl.You can imagine he didn't even allow me get close to him in anyway when we were there,"she fumed at her.Cynthia exhaled roughly and barked at her though she maintained a low voice.

"Remember the fortunes that come with marrying my nephew you fool and be serious about this whole thing because you are running out of time!"

"You ran out of time long ago aunt Cynthia so I think you should let this be and let the lovers be because I don't think am interested in that cold stone you call a nephew.Book me a flight ticket,I need to fly home tomorrow.I have business to take care of,"Emma answered and walked away.The past four days had been the most embarrassing in her life.Max had treated her with disgust as though she was some cheap rug.She didn't like it at all.She called her mother and explained her situation but her mother didn't want to take any of her complains.She instead warned her not to step back to the mansion if she had not succeeded.She was devastated and ended up explaining the issue to her father who knew nothing about what was happening.Mr Johns had reprimanded her and told her to go back home immediately.She was about to book her flight but she remembered who had brought her to Gel at the first place and she decided that the same person would book her a flight back to Frea City.

Max and Ammy entwined their fingers together and raised their entwined hands to the air to show everyone that they were now finally engaged.They finally joined the rest of the guests at the floor.They sat at a certain corner and the waiters served drinks to the guests.

"Wine or juice?"Max asked Ammy when a waiter came to serve them drinks.

"Juice please,"she responded smiling.Max looked at her with a warm smile and picked a glass.He handed it over to her and she sipped from it.Ammy's brows raised as soon as she sipped the drink.

"I asked for juice Maxwell,"she complained sweetly.Max smiled again before answering.

"I know that but it's our night so I want to see you drunk today,"he confessed calmly while still smiling.Ammy found that sweet but also confussing.

"Why do you want to see me drunk Max?"

"Because I want to know if you can handle alcohol,"he responded looking at her face.Ammy smiled and responded.

"You don't have to try it today because I can't handle alcohol when am drunk and I might end up misbehaving."

"You shouldn't worry about that because I will take care of the misbehaving,"he responded while moving his face closer to her.Ammy fell speechless when his breath caressed her soft cheek skin and sent shivers all through her body.She gulped,bit her lower lips seductively without knowing it and turned to look at him.Their faces were too close and they seemed they would kiss anytime from then.Max looked at her beautiful blue eyes and lowered his gaze to her beautiful lips that she was biting seductively.She finally released her lower lip from her biting and they popped out beautifully.Max leaned in and kissed her briefly on the lips.He withdrew and gazed at her unblinking eyes.

"You know am a very lucky man.I got such a hot and gorgeous beauty with talent and brains.You know what Ammy,I never thought I would fall in love again after all the heartbreaks I have been through but..."Ammy gulped at his last statement and she held her breath and waited for him to complete his statement but someone interrupted.

"Maxwell,"came a young man's voice from behind them.Max pulled away from Ammy and turned to look who it was that called him so unofficially.Ammy did the same and their eyes met a young Handsome man dressed in expensive but unofficial clothes.He was so charming and his smile was just adding it all.

"Rayan,"Maxwell responded calmly though he was the last person he expected to see at his party.

"Nice to see you again Maxwell.And congratulations on your engagement.Such a beauty you got there,my sister is even of no comparison,"he spoke while smiling.

"Thank you Rayan.I never expected you here,"Max responded calmly.

"Actually I arrived some hours ago and heard of this engagement party and I couldn't miss it for anything you know."Max nodded silently.

"Haven't seen Michael nor Milady yet,"the guy complained calmly.

"They are around keep on checking,"Max responded.Rayan peeped at Ammy over Max's shoulder and smiled.Max saw that and he creased his brows questioningly at him as though he was irritated.Rayan saw his reaction and he bursted out laughing.

"Calm down man....but you haven't introduced her to me,"he finally spoke while still laughing.Max took Ammy's hand and carefully pulled her to his side.

"My love,this is Rayan.He has been a friend since childhood.And Rayan, this is Ammy,my fiance,"he proceeded.The two shook hands.

"Pleasure to meet you Rayan,"Ammy spoke while shaking his hand warmly while smiling sweetly at him.

"Same here beauty,"Rayan responded while smiling at her.He was definitely more than pleased by what he saw and he didn't realize that he had been staring at her and not even released her hand.Ammy looked at Max with creased brows.Max's jaws were tightened against each other as he saw how he was admiring at his woman.He had enough and grabbed his hand and pulled it away from Ammy's hand.Rayan snapped to his senses and smiled awkwardly.

"Am sorry Maxwell but you have such a beauty here,"he commented again.

"That doesn't give you the right to stare at my woman Rayan,"he growled between gritted teeth.

"So possessive about her....I smell love here,"he teased him.

"Why don't you go look for your friends?....must have alot to catch up with,"Max suggested and Rayan nodded while still smiling.

"Ofcourse big brother Maxwell Storm...,"he responded and turned to walk away before bidding farewell to Ammy.

"See you around miss beauty,"he spoke and walked away.Max watched him as he disappeared in the crowd before turning his attention to the only woman he could think of beside him.He took the hand that Rayan had grasped and kissed it.

"You shouldn't let anyone touch you that away Ammy,"he spoke between his kisses.Ammy blushed and nodded.She then remembered what he had said earlier.She really couldn't wait to hear him confess his love for her.

"Max,you were saying something before Rayan interrupted,"she began.Max looked at her eyes and just then, realized what he almost said to her.He felt like slapping himself for being soo careless for him to almost spill the beans.

"It was nothing Ammy so don't worry about it,"he said as he made her seat back on the chair.
