Chapter 71

Ammy stood at the door and looked at Max as he walked away. She watched the his convoy leave the mansion silently.

"There is a history behind his life that I don't know but....I would say he has a spot for you in his heart,"she heard someone speaking behind her.

She turned and saw Colbert standing behind him.

"What's that supposed to mean?"she asked with a confused look.

"I have been taking care of him for years now....I came to serve him when he was six years old,"Colbert began.

"But you don't even look old Bert, are you sure this isn't just a fairy tale?"Ammy asked smiling.

"No ma'am...I started working here still a young man...I was nineteen. He had been under care of some nannies but he never wanted them around him so I took the job.He was an active child and very handsome....but he was always quiet and wouldn't talk to anyone but me and that too, if he had too,"he explained calmly.

Ammy was even more confused. Why would a child be that way?...most atimes, kids are always cheerful.

"Why would he be that way?..."she asked still confused.

"I can't tell about that because he never opened up to speak."

He explained calmly and Ammy nodded though she was even more confused.

She left him and walked to her room. She had to get ready to leave...she was to drop her sister at their aunt's place and go to the family mansion.

Minutes later:

Knock! Knock!

Ammy heard soft raps on her door. She walked towards it.She grabbed the door handle and twisted it open.

"Hello...good morning,"Andy stood at the door, with a sweet smile.

"Morning Andy..."she responded smiling back at her."You really look fine,"Ammy continued sizing her sister friendly.

"I know..."Andy responded smiling back at her.

"Ready to leave now?"

"Yeah, let's go have breakfast first, am sure your big brother really misses you,"Ammy teased her sister as she locked the door.

After breakfast the girls walked out of the house, Ammy holding her car keys.

They got into the car and she drove off the compound.Andy played music as they drove.

"So what's your day's plan?"Andy asked her sister as they still drove.

"Well, dropping you off then go to the family mansion...or will you come with to the mansion first?...trust me it will be fun,"Ammy spoke smiling convincingly at her sister.

"That's not a good idea Ammy...I don't know them and..."

"No sweery, you are coming with me.They are now family and you will have to meet with them at a point,"she insisted.

"But it doesn't have to be today!"she protested pouting angrily.

"And there is no harm in it being today,"her sister persisted stubbornly.

Andy was left with no other choice but agree to her sister's idea. They arrived minutes later at the family mansion.

As she drove to the parking lot, she could see Milady, Maya and Camilla standing outside the door.

Ammy parked the car and they all alighted and walked towards them.

"Hey there...."Milady walked towards her.

"Hey..."she responded. The two hugged happily and hugged Maya as well.Ammy walked towards Camilla.

"Hey mom.."

"Hey honey.How was your honeymoon?"

"Good..."

"Just good?.."Milady asked frowning.

Ammy winked and smiled.

The honeymoon was definitely good but not good enough to say it out loud.

"However it was honey, am really hoping there is a seed growing,"Camilla spoke looking at her tummy.

Ammy looked at her, smiled and ignored her mom's words.

"I almost forgot that I came here with someone very important,"she spoke instead of responding to her.

She took her sister's arm and pulled her to her side carefully.

"This Andy...you all know all who she is,"she introduced her.

"Ofcourse and she is also very pretty I must confess..."Camilla spoke walking closer to her.

She took her into her arms lovingly.

"Welcome home Andy... you can always consider this place your home,"she spoke still holding her in her arms.

She knew everything that had happened to the two girls and she felt like she should treat them more of her own daughters.

"Thank ma'am,"Andy responded pursing her lips tightly against each other.

"Hey, you can call me mum if fine with you,"Camilla told the girl.

Andy looked at her, the brightness on her face vanishing. Her smile disappeared from her lips. She sniffed the air and looked at Ammy, tears beginning to form in her eyes.

She walked away to her sister's car that was at the parking lot.

They all looked at her as she ran to the car.Andy got to the car, her hands were shaking and she was slightly panting. She clenched her fists trying hard to push back the tears.

"Is something wrong with her?"Camilla asked.

"I think so but not to worry I will talk to her when she calms down,"Ammy assured her with a smile plastered on her face.

They were all silent for a moment until Milady broke the silence.

"Babes, we were going for shopping.Would you please join us?"she pleaded.

Milady was a shopping babbie. She loved shopping among many other things that included fashion and beauty.

Ammy looked at her, then averted her gaze to the car where Andy had run to.

"Can I go talk to her first?..."she asked pointing at the parking lot. They all understood what she was talking about and they couldn't refuse that.

Camilla informed them that she was leaving for since she wasn't going for shopping with them. After she had left, Ammy walked towards her car and they also walked to theirs.

Milady never liked being accompanied by the guards.Even when she was young, she would sneak from their watch for her to be comfortable with whatever she was to do.

Ammy reached the spot and got into the car.Andy was still sobbing silently.

"Hey...."Ammy began carefully when she settled on the seat.

Andy raised her eyes and looked at her, her nose and cheeks were bright red and her lashes were damp.

"What's wrong?"she asked sounding worried and concerned, her gaze steady on her sister's face.

"I- I don't like it, she is not my mum and she cannot even replace her place and she shouldn't mention that word to me,"she responded in a low but very firm voice.

Now, Ammy understood what was wrong. The mentioning of the word mum and Camilla telling her to call her mum had brought back some painful memories to her.She understood her pains because she was going through the same or maybe worse than that but she was stronger.Atleast she had to be for her sister.

"Hey, I get it....I understand what you feel and what you are going through Andy but she was just trying to be nice...to make you feel at home,"Ammy tried explaining.

"But it's not home and I don't need her to be nice to me.Its not going to bring my mum back,"she responded, her eyes wide and staring at her sister's.

Ammy could see the anger in her eyes, the pains she was going through. The whole event had traumatized her.

She needs a therapist to help her...

These words kept ringing in Ammy's mind. She moved closer to her and embraced her tightly.

"I think you should see a therapist Andy,"she suggested still holding her in her arms.Andy pulled herself away from her grip and looked at her.Her eyes narrowed.

"A therapist!...a therapist to help me call another woman my mother?"she hissed her question to her.

"No, that's not it....you need a therapist to her you get rid of trauma you got that night,"

"I don't need any other therapist.Because none of them will bring my mum back to me,"she yelled at her sister.

She was being stubborn and she was hurting herself and Ammy didn't like it a bit.She had to let her go and just hold the good memories of their mother but not hatred and letting herself be guided by pains.

"But none of this will bring her back Andy. She is gone and won't come back....I know that you loved her so much and I did too but you have to let go. You have to move on...you are strong. Very strong and you can fight the pain and make a place in your heart for a new beginning,"Ammy spoke holding her shoulders.

Andy looked at her eyes and she somehow softened

"But am not as strong as you are, am trying...am really trying but it's not easy,"Andy responded, fresh tears evading her eyes.

"Don't worry, you are doing just fine and you will be okay,"Ammy assured her wiping her tears away and she nodded.

"What about shopping?"Ammy asked her to lighten the mood.

"Oh!..."Andy exclaimed lazily with lack of interest.

"What's that for?....come on it will be fun and Maya and Milady are coming too,"she insisted and she was left with no choice.

"Are you sure it would be fun?"

"Ofcourse, just wait and see,if it won't be fun then I will owe you an amazing dinner any day you mention,"she assures her sister.

"Okay fine...."she responded her face still blunt and Ammy yelped happily.

"Yeeiiiy, malls here we come."

She took her phone and typed a text to Milady.

'Lets roll...'

The text read.
