Chapter 93

The car arrived at the hotel later that night.Max got off the car and waited for Renna to come along.He offered his arm and she entwined her arm in his.She looked so gorgeous but Max was no exception.His looks were simply mesmerizing.

The manager walked out to welcome them to his restaurant.It was a pleasure having the great Maxwell at the hotel even though he was the owner of the hotel.

"Welcome sir,"he began as the pair walked inside the hotel.

Max nodded and flashed a smile at him as he walked.

They walked into the hotel lobby led by the manager who took them to the room he had reserved for them.

Renna clung on Maxwell's arm possessively as they walked passed all the eyes that gawked at them.

The room was glass walls.

"Welcome sir,"the manager spoke again when they got at the glass door.A guard opened the door for them and they walked inside hand in hand.

From the door,Renna could see a man sitted,his back towards them.

He really looked familiar to her but she sighed and continued walking beside Maxwell.

"Edward..."Max began when they were close enough to the man and Renna froze when she heard tbe name.

Edward!!!?

Edward stood and turned to his back.His eyes narrowed as they fell on the frozen girl beside Maxwell.

Maybe that was just what came up.

His eyes specifically moved to the point of intersection where their hands met.

They then traveled back to the girl's face.

She was really shocked that she forgot to breathe for seconds.Max smiled warmly at Edward who returned the smile but quite confused at the scene before him.

"I see you are again early as I expected,"Max began to get rid of the awkward silence and the tension that was building between them.

"As always,"Edward responded smiling broadly.The two men both turned their gazes to the girl who had now released Max's arm.

Her chest was heaving heavily.

Max moved closer to her and held her waist possessively.He bent a little and kissed her lips lightly and Renna froze.

Why was he doing this before him?...did he know that Edward was her husband?

Was it a get back to her for what she did,that made Ammy leave his house?

"Hun, are you okay?"he asked, a heavy crease on his forehead.His gaze was steady on her face but she wasn't even looking at him.

Her eyes were on the man standing before them.

He looked back at Edward.He was also gawking at her but he looked calm and Max smirked lightly.

"It seems there is no introduction needed here,"he spoke again smiling.

"Yeah, I guess so,"Edward responded smiling back at him.Max took Renna's hand and pulled her along lightly as he walked towards the table.They all sat at the table and two waitresses came to serve them the hotel's special recipes and their best wine.

"Renna, this is Edward Bash,my good friend and business partner but you two seem to know each other,"Max started when the food was served and the waitresses had left.

"We do but I don't think that we know each other that well,"Edward spoke as he picked the cutleries.

He was really hurt but he wasn't the kind of man that would take action at that very same time.

Max noted that and he changed the topic to business as they ate.

The two men were really trying to work on their meals before them but Renna had not touched her food yet.Her gaze kept on shifting between the two men before her as they ate and chatted as if she was not presently there.

"I brought the contract papers with me since you never came for them yesterday,"Max spoke between their hot chat.

"That really was a good thought Maxwell...I can say that I got occupied that it almost slipped my mind,"Edward confessed with a smile.

Max gazed intently at him and admired his calmness.He was pretty sure that he wouldn't be so relaxed after seeing another man touching his wife, let alone kissing her.

He surely would have dislocated his bones and destroyed his face, without any compassion.

"I thought you would bring Ammy along...her exquisite beauty is one thing I expected to see beside you today,"Edward spoke,his gaze on Maxwell.He had really tried keeping his gaze from the lady who kept on staring at him.

"U- um, excuse me please,"Renna excused herself as she pushed the seat behind so that she could stand.

"Not really,you aren't excused yet,"Maxwell responded looking at her.

Renna looked at him angrily...it was now very clear to her.

He had known that she was married and this was just a get back plan...but why would he do that?Why hurt her innocent husband even if she was guilty.

"What's that supposed to mean?"Renna asked sternly,her stare very fierce on him.

Max looked at her softly but he wasn't smiling...the smiling time was over now.

"I don't think my statement was challenging for you not to understand but I will break it down for you...SIT DOWN!!"he responded, stressing the last two words,quite loudly.

Renna looked at him breathing heavily and furiously and Edward remained still and silent on his seat.

"I wish this dinner had been much better Edward but this is all I could think of doing,"Max began.

Renna gulped as she looked at Maxwell.She really began panicking and didn't want him to continue.

"Why are you doing this Max?...what do you gain?"she asked calmly,in a low voice.Both the men turned to her side.

"I should be asking you that...I never had interfered with your life even after what we had once and thats the reason why I never knew you were married until some days past,"he spoke calmly though he could feel his anger surging within him.

"You came to my house to tear my wife and I apart...for what exactly?"he continued questioning her and she gulped.

Edward looked a them in confusion as they exchanged words.

Renna remained silent and looked at Max.Her eyes were no filling with tears.

"I tolerated you staying in my house so I could deal with you in my own way but because of the friendship we once had I couldn't but I thought your husband should know of your silly behavior and deal with you in his own way,"he continued.

Edward couldn't stay quiet anymore,he had understood that his wife was cheating on him when they kissed but this conversation was all confusing.

"I don't understand anything you are saying Max,"he spoke looking at him.

"I know that but your wife should explain that,"Max spoke looking at the girl who was now looking at the plate before her that was slightly touched.

Edward turned to her side and waited for her to say something but she remained silent.

"Speak up woman!!"he yelled as he banged the table,making Renna almost jump away,terrified.

"You don't have to shout at me,"she yelled back at him,her eyes wide.

Edward nodded at her words and smiled.

Max remained quiet as he watched the couples before him.He would have slapped the shit out of her if he had yelled at him....lucky her!

"Will you stop being so dramatic and speak up,"Edward spoke again,this time his voice louder and more fierce.

Renna winced as he shouted at her but still didn't say anything.

"I guess she isn't in the mood to speak so let me get this done...,"Max spoke when she remained silent.

"She came to my house some days ago and tried to lure me to sleep with her.It never happened but in the morning my wife found us in quite a bad position and she left but she stayed in my house until today,"he explained looking at the girl who was now shedding tears.

"I thought you should know and deal with your wife because it wouldn't be fair if I punished your wife yet we are business partners,"he spoke.

Edward gawked at the woman who was sobbing silently beside him.

Max took his phone from his pockets, dialed a number and called.

"Bring me the document,"he spoke then ended the call.

Minutes later,the door opened and Sham walked in and handed a light briefcase to him.

Max passed the briefcase to Edward.

"These are the documents...it was a nice dinner Edward Bash,thank you for your time,"he spoke after he received the briefcase.

Max pushed the chair silently and stood from the table.

He picked napkin and wiped his mouth then placed it back on the table.

He began walking towards the door but paused before he could step out.

"Tame your wife Edward because I don't think I will be too humane next time,"he sternly warned then strode out of the room.

Edward sipped the wine from his wine glass,looked at his sobbing wife and left the table without saying anything.

"Edd,"Renna called to him as he walked towards the door but he couldn't even turn to look at her.

"Edd..."she called to him louder but still,got no response.

She shuddered under her loud sobs.What a shame she had brought to herself!
